Chapter 260: High Stake Bet
A small smile appeared on Gate Master Mara’s lips when she heard Kent’s words. She was about 3 km away, but she could hear everything clearly as if she were right there.
She heard every vulgar word spoken by the Sword Saintess.
Though she knew her character, she was still irritated by how she was disrespecting the elders. If she could, she would have killed her long ago.
But that would create too much trouble.
However, now she doesn’t have to do anything. Kent, who knew how to use his tongue, was already doing the damage control for her.
“You, a mere grandmaster swordsman, want to challenge a whole Sword Saintess to a duel. Are you perhaps having a dream?” she asked with laughter.
“I can think clearly, and from where I stand, I don’t see much. All I see is a lady who thinks she is better than everyone, yet she is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
But that can be fixed if only you have the balls… ahem… boobs to accept my challenge. Emphasis on the boobs part,”
Kent said with a teasing smile. This seemed to have struck a chord, making her frown. Although the lady in front of him was a beauty, her chest wasn’t that encouraging.
“You are arrogant,” she said. Kent just reminded her why she hated his master. They both are beauties with good backsides, but her chest pales in comparison.
“I know,” Kent replied, looking narrowly at the lady.
“I accept your challenge. However, I have a request, and you cannot say no to it,” she said, making Kent smile inwardly.
“Tell me. If it’s within my capabilities, I will do it,” Kent said.
“Let’s make a bet. If you lose, you will become my disciple and leave the Divine Palace Sect for the Everlasting Immortal Sword Sect,” she said, making Kent smirk.
“Though you don’t have what it takes to become my master, I will accept your bet. However, if I win, you will become my servant for 100 years and, like you said, you will leave the Everlasting Immortal Sword Sect and join the Divine Palace Sect,”
Kent said, and the Saintess narrowed her eyes.
“Don’t go too far, brat. What do you take me for? Change the stakes, for though you would lose, thinking of making me your servant is the last thing I want.”
“So you are afraid of losing. For someone who thinks she is better than everyone, why worry about a simple bet?” Kent asked.
For some reason, the Saintess didn’t like how confident Kent was. It was as if he had everything figured out and thought he was in control. It was like he had already won the duel even before it started.
‘There is no way to enforce it, so he can’t just do anything if he wins. Fuck, why am I thinking I will lose when I am clearly the one at an advantage here?’ She practically hated her brain at the moment.
This caused her to glare at Kent, who just stood there watching her.
“Fine. I accept your bet.” Since there was no way to enforce it, she could only say that and figure out the rest later.
Well, that was how it was supposed to go, but then Kent produced two contracts from thin air and handed them to her.
“This contract will enforce the bets. If any of us goes against the stakes we have stated, our soul will undergo extreme torture every two hours until we accept our loss and do as the bet states.”
Kent said, making the Saintess look at him weirdly.
In the end, she didn’t believe the contrast could enforce the bets, so she signed with her blood. If only she knew Akira was the one behind the contract. Then again, she had never met a soul weaver before.
The contract now allows Akira to do as she pleases the moment any of them go against the stakes they set after the duel.
Kent is confident, and so is the lady, but Kent is no easy person. He had finally made a breakthrough, and so, he planned on testing his limits and even distributing his points accordingly.
“Elders, please take her to the arena. I have something to do and will head there immediately after.” The elders, who were saved from the embarrassment Val was putting them through, were more than happy to lead her away.
A few seconds later, the Gate Master appeared.

“Are you being serious now? You do know if you lose, you will become her disciple and forever leave your master,” she asked in an angry tone.
For someone who wanted Kent gone, this should be the happiest moment for her. However, she doesn’t seem to be happy about the decision Kent made, accepting such a bet from the crazy Saintess.
She may be a loudmouth, but she is in no way weak.
“I don’t plan on losing, Gate Master. Although she is a Root Great Sage and a Sword Saint, I plan on winning, and you will finally see that I qualify to be part of the nine active disciples you selected for the competition,” Kent said, smiling.
“You are unbelievable,” she said, shaking her head.
This was her first time meeting such an interesting guy. Kent may merely be a Root Sage, but he is not an easy cookie for the Saintess to crack.
The discovery that his sword intent and qi could be fused, coupled with the fact that he had mastered the rapid slash to that extent, gave him confidence.
But this is a duel between swordsmen. Kent may be at a disadvantage; however, he wasn’t in any way weaker.
With his skills higher than the maximum of this world, he was bound to make this lady regret the day she was born if she became careless.
“Does your master know you are doing something like this?” she asked.
“Master is still in seclusion, so this was my own idea. Don’t worry, I won’t put the sect to shame.” After saying that, Kent began walking away.
The Gate Master stared at his back for a few minutes before sighing.
‘He is clearly bold, but will that help him against that crazy lady who doesn’t play by the rules?’ she thought, and then she vanished from where she stood.
