Chapter 264: Monstrous Talent
“This is bad,” Gate Master Camilla said. “If this brat somehow wins this battle, then, per their bet, the Saintess will become his servant.
This wouldn’t be received well by the Evaslating Immortal Sword Sect. In fact, they will double down their efforts to kill him now.”
Gate Master Mara nodded.
They were already aware of the spreading rumors indicating that a monster swordsman had appeared inside the Sword Gate of the Divine Palace Sect.
So, though they didn’t show it, they were extra careful, ensuring no one got closer to Kent. They couldn’t afford to let him fall into the hands of those tigers.
Kent was like a key they were now planning to use to discover the true identity of the Sect Master. So he could not die.
However, from the looks of things now, Kent might just be falling into the hands of these tigers if he indeed went ahead and defeated this Saintess.
And from the look of things, he was indeed heading in that direction. The Saintess wasn’t having much success with her attacks connecting.
Her tendency to make comments that could break one’s resolve during battles was halted from the moment they crossed swords.
Right now, she was hurt in multiple places. Kent was also hurt but was healing much faster since he was a body cultivator and a Dragon.
Those wounds are healing as he moves and sustains new ones.
“Should we stop him?” Gate Master Camilla asked again.
She may be the gate master from the Spear Gate, but she knew she would have to support her friend when it came down to it.
“No,” Gate Master Mara unexpectedly declined.
“Are you being serious? Kent is going to anger a lot of people if he defeats the saintess and makes her his servant.
Do you really want that to happen? Are you perhaps hoping they will take care of him for you?” she asked, but Gate Master Mara just smirked.
“He is a disciple of the Sword Gate. If they want, they can come. It’s been a long time since I fought seriously. So, wouldn’t this be a chance for me to stretch my legs and arms?” she said with a cold smile.
For a moment, Gate Master Camilla shuddered.
She may have forgotten that she was now sitting beside the one who was once hailed as the genius of the entire Human Continent.
Someone who fought in many battles and defeated those stronger than her. Someone whom many sect masters feared.
Someone who could be utterly unreasonable if she wanted to be. This made Camilla want to remind her that not one, but many, would be coming for Kent.
But she knew her character, so she chose to keep quiet and watch as Mara smiled sinisterly, looking at the brat who had only seemed to make her life miserable ever since he stepped into the sect.
That same brat was now taking care of a Rude Saintess, with the only outcome being more trouble. It was like Kent was built for trouble.
‘At least he is putting the name of the Sword Gate on the map. But is he ready for all the attention?’ she wondered. And, as if Kent had heard her, he moved back and sheathed his sword.
The Saintess wasn’t looking too good at the moment.
“Dare I ask: were you hoping to claim this battle in the bag? You might have thought this battle was as good as over, considering I am a Sword Grandmaster.
But you probably must be regretting that decision now. Don’t worry. I am not done yet. I am not one to talk between battles, but I just want to say this:
If you have any trump cards, now might be the time to use them, for I am about to end the battle. I would love to see you struggle to the bitter end.”
Kent smiled, hoping she would listen to his words.
The reason he taunted her was that if she indeed brought out all her trump cards and he still defeated her, immediately after the battle, he would face the Sword Bridge again.

So he moved and swung his sword again. This time, the rapid slash didn’t activate. Instead, the [72 String Sovereign Strike] did.
Instead of thin strings, they now appeared like chains with pointed tips.
Seventy-two of them sped toward the Saintess, who immediately unleashed an attack that created small swords from her sword qi, defending against the 72 String Sovereign Strikes.
Kent didn’t allow her to rest and unleashed the Elemental Lord, summoning a flaming lion large enough to shake anyone’s heart. It sped toward her.
By the time she was done defending that, Kent unleashed the [True Despair sword strike], which landed on her body, pushing her back by a few meters.
Her body shuddered as the feeling of fear and despair ran into her mind.
Then, 350 sword arcs filled the air.
This time, instead of using her sword to defend herself, she tapped a necklace around her neck, causing her clothes to change into armor.
The attacks landed on it, pushing her back, but the damage was minimal.
“Good, then why don’t we end the battle,” Kent said with a smile. The saintess has finally used her strongest defense, meaning Kent could also use his ultimate move.
He swung his sword, and 450 sword arcs appeared. The air was painted golden, and for a moment, the Saintess saw her life flash before her eyes.
And then it happened.
All 450 sword arcs rained down on her, causing her to black out. The next second, she was outside the arena. The entire space shuddered under the attack, causing many, if not all, to break into a cold sweat.
The battle was over, and Kent was left standing inside the arena, but nobody was cheering. No, they all had their eyes on Kent, who had already sheathed his sword.
The attacks he used—none of them could understand just how monstrous they were.
The sword arcs shouldn’t be that numerous for a normal sword skill, so what was the grade of the technique he had used?
Of course, if only they knew this was a skill designed and developed by a goddess, they would probably finally understand just how a Grandmaster could defeat a Saintess.
But the battle was over.
Kent emerged victorious, but he wasn’t happy.
The Saintess was in shock, so she passed out.
The Gate Master appeared beside her and, after giving Kent a nod that might have carried some respect, took her away.
Kent turned to the audience and gave them the “bye, bitches” look before teleporting away.
The battle was over and what followed next was the news that would break the kingdom and cause many minds to flip.
