Chapter 267: Meaning Of Defeat
“You’re joking, right?” Saintess Neomi asked, staring at Kent. Her sisters did the same, staring at the brat like he was some kind of rare commodity.
“I’m serious here, ladies, but don’t worry about it. She was a rude loudmouth who deserved a reality check. I just ensured she snapped back to reality.”
“Please tell me it’s not Saintess Val,” Selene asked, but Kent just smiled.
“This is bad,” both Saintesses said at the same time.
“No need to be dramatic about it. She saw it coming, so it wasn’t like I did something forbidden,” Kent shrugged, dismissing their expressions.
“That’s the thing, Kent. What you did *is* forbidden. You defeated a Saintess while just a Grandmaster in a fair duel. If news of this gets out, you’ll have both admirers and haters coming for you.
I’m sure the sect is already littered with powerhouses seeking you out. But forget about them. Those you should be worried about are the Everlasting Immortal Sword Sect,” Selene said, looking worried.
“Why should I be worried about them?” Kent asked.
“The Saintess you defeated is one of the five cherished Saintesses. In fact, among all four kingdoms, they have the highest number of Saints and Saintesses.
And you have just defeated one of them. Do you really think they will take that lying down?”
“Well, that doesn’t sound good, I guess,” Kent said.
“No kidding. The fact that you defeated her in a fair duel said it all. You are someone that cannot be ignored anymore. They will come for your head for sure” Saintess Neomi spoke worriedly.
“They wouldn’t be able to do anything to me. I am not that simple, you know,” Kent laughed. He wasn’t worried, not even by a little.
“You—who are you, really? How can you defeat a Saintess? Even I had to go all out just to defeat her twice in a row,” Saintess Selene asked, but Kent just smiled.
“Then what should I do, considering she is now my servant according to the bet we made?” Kent asked, and again, the ladies stared at him with open mouths.
“Why the gawking expressions? She asked for it, so I delivered. Now, whether she likes it or not, she is my servant, and I don’t plan on letting her go just like that,” Kent said.
In truth, he wouldn’t let her go, thanks to the quest he received.
He never asked for it, considering he hadn’t even reviewed his previous rewards after making the Saintess and her disciple his women. The rewards were just too good to be true.
Now, he received a new one that he just couldn’t decline—not when he was being rewarded for something he wanted to do in the first place.
The quest now required him to make the Saintess his servant by asking her whether she wanted to become his servant.
Of course, if she said no, he could let her go if he wanted. But even if she said no, Kent wasn’t planning on sending her away.
No, Kent wants to duel her again, and this time, he wants to learn close combat from her. During their battle, he was overwhelmed for a while. So, the Saintess is stuck with him regardless of the choice she made.
The question now is whether or not the Everlasting Immortal Sword Sect will do anything drastic. He is not afraid of them, but he also doesn’t want this to escalate to the point where the sect might get into trouble.
“Kent, you have to let the Saintess go. This way, they wouldn’t make much fuss over her defeat,” Saintess Neomi said, but Kent shook his head.
“She is now my servant. There is a contract for it. So, while I would love to let her go, I don’t want to.”
The ladies could only stare at him like he was some kind of a doll. The battle was over, and he had won. There was no need to overreact over it.
“At this rate, I wonder how many Saints and Saintesses will come to challenge you. Even I want to challenge you,” Saintess Selene said, making Kent smile.
“I would love to have a go with you, but can that wait? I have some more gifts to give you ladies and things to handle. But for now, can we put a pin on that?” Kent said, making his master nod.
“Kent, just be careful out there. The sect is not as united as one would expect, so be cautious when doing things out there,” Neomi said, making Kent nod.
“So, do you plan on making her our next sister?” Unity asked. She was his first mortal wife and the first person to learn about Vexthra, so she always ask the obvious questions.

“She is a loudmouth, so until she learns to be an elegant lady, she will only be my servant.”
“So, you indeed plan on making her our sister. I knew you really have a thing for Saintesses,” Unity said, making the ladies laugh.
“Right now, my target is the Gate Master, so you ladies shouldn’t take me for granted,” Kent said, and the ladies could only smile. Though the Gate Master is a long stretch, they knew it was not impossible.
“By the way, do any of you ladies know someone by the name Nara?” Kent asked, and three ladies looked at him strangely.
“How do you know that name?” Ingrid asked.
“I may have heard it a couple of weeks ago,” he lied… for now.
“Well, Nara was one of the disciples of this sect. She was, in fact, one of the greatest swordsmen to have walked the path. However, she died on a mission decades ago.
There was a lot about her, but now it was sealed away. If you want more context, you can talk to the gate master.
But you must tread carefully; for some reason, she seems more closely guarded regarding matters of this mysterious sword genius,” Selene answered, making Kent nod.
“Then I will be on my way. You ladies should spend some time together,” Kent said, but the ladies didn’t allow him to leave like that.
“It’s been days, dear; why don’t we connect? Spending a day here is only an hour outside anyway, so you have time,” Selene said, already brushing her slender fingers across the dragon.
Kent smiled, watching as all his ladies looked at him with expressions that said they wanted that thickness in them.
He could only sigh and nod. The next second, they teleported away, appearing inside the room where the colossal bed was about to have its first group marathon.
