Chapter 374: Who Is the True Evil (2)
The story of the sect master goes back several decades.
He was the up-and-coming genius, the heir of a renowned noble family from the Athea Kingdom. He was the prodigy who became a disciple of a famous mage who had participated in the Battle of Parting.
He was on track to becoming one of the most powerful mages of his time.
Then he met a young lady, and everything changed for him.
At first, he was happy, for the beauty he met was one to die for. They envied him—his peers envied his talent and his love interest.
But while he held his shoulders high for a while, all of that came crashing down when his wife chose to follow a long ear she met on the ancient battlefield of Parting.
That was when he became furious, and in his attempt to get his woman back, he fell into despair. He wasn’t able to defeat the elf that stole his woman, so he turned to evil.
He began following the path of darkness, and for years, under the guise of a genius mage, he used all kinds of nefarious means to grow his power.
His plan was to become a Sovereign, and once he achieved that, he would invade the land of the elves and get his woman back.
He was still deluded into thinking he would get his woman back, even though that would never be the case.
His battle with the elves caused the elven race to declare humans their enemies, and since then, whenever they met on the ancient battlefield of Parting, they would try to kill one another.
But he never stopped. Over time, the Kingdom Protector became aware of his dark arts, but she did nothing to stop him, for she wasn’t concerned with the petty squabbles of individuals.
To her, she would only intervene when actions threatened the entire kingdom.
But she kept her sights on him, and now, watching him get trashed by Kent and Kaizo, she could only sigh.
Victor swung his staff, summoning a barrage of dark orbs that shot toward the Brute.
Kaizo dodged and weaved, his movements a blur.
He closed the distance in an instant, his fist slamming into the sect master’s chest. The impact sent him flying, crashing through the trees like a bulldozer.
But Sect Master Victor didn’t last long on the ground. He pushed himself up, his eyes glowing with fury.
“Just why? Why had everything gone so wrong all of a sudden?” he screamed.
He slammed his staff into the ground, and the earth trembled.
Cracks spread across the ground, and dark energy erupted like a geyser. The moment the dark energy erupted, both Kent and Kaizo felt the danger.
“Kaizo, don’t let the energy touch your skin… It’s poisonous,” Kent warned, and Kaizo obeyed.
“Bathe in Lightning!” Kaizo’s body was covered in lightning armour, which made him appear like a divine juggernaut.
He had become majestic yet dangerous, for the lightning armour around him was very powerful.
Kaizo braced himself, his body glowing with lightning. “Bring it on!” he shouted, charging forward. The two clashed, their powers colliding in a blinding explosion of light and darkness.
The mountain they were fighting on cracked in half, with one part falling into the sea while the other slowly crumbled apart.
But the battle was far from over. The sect master has proven to be formidable. However, his foundation was as solid as it should be.
But thanks to the dark arts, he had become formidable with a lot of evil skills in his arsenal. But it’s too bad he found someone like Kaizo to be his opponent.
That was his only misfortune. Because the brute was all about punching. And while he would love for him to fall into his trap, Kaizo was just too monstrous.
Kent, knowing that if this continued for much longer, they would be forced to change their plans, glanced at the wraith and sighed.

“If you won’t die, then you can go chill somewhere for now,” he muttered. The battlespace artefact appeared in his palm, and without hesitation, he pulled the wraith inside.
“Simple. The moment your master dies, you will die too,” he said with an evil smile as he looked at the sect master.
“Kaizo, you know what to do.”
“Really? I’m still having fun here, Master. He is like the pinching bag that comes once every decade,” Kaizo said, landing a punch on the sect master’s chest, making him vomit blood.
“I know you’re having fun, but don’t let that get to you. You’ll have many chances to play in the future. For now, let’s torture this bastard.”
“Very well,” Kaizo sighed. “Since that’s the case, then I can only do my best to torture him.”
“Overdrive!” His energy surged, and his speed increased, moving at a pace that caught the sect master completely off guard.
“Behind you,” Kaizo said, forcing the sect master to look back. But he regretted that action, as the moment he turned, a thick spear made of lightning stabbed into his chest.
“Never turn your back on your opponent,” Kaizo said with a smile that was heartbreaking for the sect master, who seethed and gritted his teeth, drawing blood.
“I know you probably still don’t realize what’s happening. But don’t worry, dying without knowing how it happened is also a good thing, for it makes things simple for you in the underworld.”
Kaizo landed another attack on his body, sending him flying down.
“Your move, Master,” The brute said, smirking. Kent vanished, and the next second, a painful cry filled the peak of the broken mountain.
A dark shard stabbed into the chest of the sect master. But it didn’t stop there—two more stabbed through his thighs, making Kent smile.
“Don’t look down. Stand up, for the battle hasn’t ended yet,” Kaizo said as he descended from the sky, landing heavily on the sect master’s leg.
The bone broke, and his leg twisted at an unnatural angle. The painful cry that escaped him came from his very soul, for the pain was just too much.
“It’s just a broken leg. No need to cry about it,” Kent said, commanding another shard to stab through his hands.
“Master, why don’t we let him stand first? I feel like attacking while he’s on the floor is bullying, and we don’t bully people, right?”
“Indeed. We only bully bats, and he’s not a bat,” Kent replied with a thoughtful expression.
“You’re in luck. Use this chance to recover so we can continue,” Kent said with a smile, and Kaizo smirked.
“On the other hand, I have this skill that will get you going for a while, so why don’t we apply it?” Kaizo extended his finger, and dark gold lightning shot from it, landing on the sect master’s chest.
The next second, he was back on his feet, causing the master and subordinate to smile evilly.
“Well then, shall we?” Kent asked.
“Yes, we shall.”
Just like that, the evil practitioner was face to face with two beings who looked more innocent than evil, yet they were the most evil beings you would ever meet.
Protector Vari looked at the torturous fight and couldn’t help but ask herself, “Who is the true evil?”
