Chapter 444: Hidden Dangers
Hearing a Forest King might be after him made him alert.

A Forest King is a being akin to a Kingdom Protector, someone sitting at the peak of this world. That was like hearing a god is after him.

“It’s not conclusive, but the chances of that happening are high,” Sword King Shawn reaffirms.

“How sure are you?” Kent asked.

“To some extent, I can say very likely. The reason being, you have something they want.”

“The Forest King body I purchased at the auction,” Kent said.

“Indeed,” Sword King Shawn nodded.

“What do you know of the power dynamics of this part of the world?” He went ahead and asked. Kent thought for a moment before answering.

“I know there are four kingdoms, each having a protector who sits at the peak of this world. Aside from that, I know nothing else.”

Kent sighs.

Though the enchanted book he received from the enchantress helped him know more of this world, it didn’t show everything. It’s more like it shows what is most known by many.

So since everyone knew of the four kingdom protectors, he managed to know of them too. Of course, he didn’t get their names, mainly because these figures are hidden from most.

“Then you know nothing at all,” Sword King Shawn smiled.

“I will tell you what you are sitting in now,” he began. “Though there are indeed four protectors, they are not the strongest of this continent.

In fact, the strongest of this continent are not we humans but the spirit beasts. Of course, this will puzzle you, but there are spirit beasts among us, and they are all around us.

You wouldn’t understand much now, mainly because on this continent, the concept of other races is still not fully known.

But if you visit the other continents, you will know that the spirit beasts are just like we humans.

So on this continent, or even this world, the spirit beasts are the strongest. I met them, and that is why I am this confident.

However, they can’t invade us simply because of a rule prohibiting them.

They have their own kingdoms, with one of such kingdoms being the Wild Forest. Now, before I scare you, know that we have four forests on this continent.

The Wild Forest, the Dark Forest, the Demon Mountains, and the Twisting Vine Forest. Of these four, the Wild Forest is the biggest of them all, simply because it houses seven Forest Kings, while the others only have one.

From what I know, these seven Forest Kings are each at the peak, and when I say the peak, they are at Level 9 Core Formation.

This made them the strongest in the entire world. However, this is also the reason why you are in grave danger.

From the reports I received, the Forest King in your possession isn’t one of the seven but more like a hidden trump card of the Mountain Flame Tiger, one of the strongest beasts on this continent and perhaps the entire world.

It was killed by a rival Forest King, and even its body was sold to the humans. You may be wondering why that was done and who would have done it.

The answer to this question is the other races.

I don’t know for sure which of them, but I am confident it’s the elves, for the humans, and they are natural enemies.

This is why whenever we meet at the ancient battlefield of Parting, we either kill each other or ignore one another.

But while we humans aren’t that petty, the elves are greedy and ambitious.

They are breaking the rules that prevent the spirit beasts from attacking us, and you may be the only thing standing between them.”

Kent was rather puzzled hearing that.

He appeared on this continent less than a year ago, so how the hell did he become the block that is preventing this battle from happening?

“You bought something that belongs to the beasts, and as such, you broke a rule. Of course, you weren’t the one who killed it, but you bought it.

This means you have something you shouldn’t have.

I only found out about this a few days ago. Apparently, the rule preventing the beasts from invading was a forbidden formation left behind by the previous emperor.

He was one of the top cultivators who vanished after the ancient battlefield of Parting.

This formation held the spirit beasts back all these years. However, that will be changing soon. The body now in your possession may be the key to breaking this formation.

“So a different race, possibly the elves, chose to ally with the beasts of this continent and invade us by making us have something they possess, and in doing so, create some form of connection that now links my life to their formation.

Meaning the only thing standing in their way is me. Am I making sense?” Kent asked.

“Yes. They want you dead, from what I know.”

“Then why do they want to rule over humans?”

For these people to go the extra mile means they are after something. It wouldn’t be as simple as just wanting to become the supreme rulers of the humans.

“That is the thing; nobody knows what they are after, at least I don’t. But I can make a guess, and that is because on the ancient battlefield of Parting.

The humans have captured a region that contains a rare mineral we’ve been protecting for years already.

And since the Forest Kings can’t enter unless the formation is down, this can only mean that the moment they gain control over the four kingdoms, everything will be theirs.”

“Damn, that is one conspiracy right there.” Kent smiled. “Looks like the Hand and the Dark Devil Church can rest for now; I have beasts and elves to put in their place first.

Looks like visiting the other continent is a must now. I must get to know them at least before I put them in their place.”

“Did you just say the Hand?”
