Chapter 470: The Second Wish
The price paid for such knowledge wasn’t one even Vexthra knew how deep it went.
Of course, the enchantress knew that, and that was why she didn’t say much. If she did, she would have paid a price worth her life. Just warning her made her pay a huge price.
So she kept quiet, knowing that although the price was huge, she wouldn’t die. Unlike her, who doesn’t have a heart, Vexthra does, and that was why she knew she wouldn’t die instantly.
Of course, the fix wasn’t something she knew, but based on her calculations, she would live.
Just knowing about the Night Riders wouldn’t kill her. She was only suppose to sacrifice 100,000 years of her life span and a small portion of her divinity.
But she was wrong, which became clear when Vexthra was done reading the pages. Of course, it could have ended there, but Vexthra wanted to tell Kent despite her warning.
Now, she is losing her divinity, and if care is not taken, she willn’t be able to recover from it. But then again, Vexthra probably wouldn’t regret that.
She knew just how important the Night Riders are to Kent, so she wouldn’t hold back such a discovery despite the price…
“Do you have a way to save her?” he asked.
⟪Personally, I don’t have a way to save her, but you do. The Karma on her is huge and can’t easily be taken off her, so the best way is to wish it.⟫
“I see. For a minute, I forgot about your wishes,” Kent smiled. “In that case, I wish…”
⟪Wait. Before you waste your wish, know that Karma cannot be wished away. Karma is like a limb attached to her; taking it off will leave a mark.
This means it can only be replaced. Now, I don’t know if you understand what I am trying to say, but you can’t wish away Karma.
It must take something of equal value. Now, I don’t know what you want to put in its stead, but you can wish for a way to save her instead of wasting it by wishing for her Karma to be taken off or forgiven.⟫
Kent laughed.
“A way to save her. Even you yourself don’t think that is possible, I am a mere brat, but I know when something divine is at work.
Vex is a god, which means wishing for a way to save her wouldn’t be simple. Now, I don’t know about you, but I value my wives, and under no circumstances would I bet their lives on a maybe or possibility.
If I can’t easily kill a Core Formation expert, then how much am I going to stand against a solution to fix the Karmic retribution on my goddess wife?
You said, ‘She has less than a decade to lose her divinity.’ This means I have that long to save her from losing her divinity.
But we both know it would stop there. So, wishing for a way to save a god is not one I can easily handle. What if I can’t handle the solution just like how I can’t manage your quest just yet?.
I’m so sorry if I don’t take your suggestion.”
Kent laughed, but a pained expression could be seen in his eyes. It was like a part of him was angry, yet the caring part couldn’t help but think of the best wish.
Thankfully, his brain is still working, and his angry side couldn’t trump his love for his wife. So he formed a wish and spoke it.
“For my second wish, I wish to exchange her Karmic retribution with my good Karma.” There was no hesitation in his tone. This wasn’t because he wanted to be the hero.
No. Kent may be a brat, but he is intelligent.
Vexthra told him he once saved the entire universe. Now, if that isn’t something to bless him with great Karma, then he was ripped off.
He knew his Karma, if still remembered, should be able to handle this. However, he wasn’t betting everything on just that.
Naturally, he was betting that divinity doesn’t affect those below the Spirit Lord stage. This means even if his wish worked, the chances of him paying now would be next to zero.
He learned from Gaia way back that divinity can be sensed from the spirit lord stage, so logically, he shouldn’t be expected to pay just yet, considering he hadn’t formed his spirit core.
As expected, when he made the wish, the enchantress seated in her temple smiled. But it wasn’t just her; the lady sitting at the core of the Universe smiled.

“A nice move there, Chaos, but you will pay for it sooner rather than later. While you are Karma’s favourite, this Karma cannot be deducted from your account, so you will pay it in another way.
Enjoy your peaceful moments; who knows when Karma will come knocking?”
Her proud smile held many affections.
Kent had just bet his life for that of a god. That wasn’t something even gods would think of doing. Of course, she would have intervened if things hadn’t gone as planned.
But she knew Karma would never affect Kent. For someone who once used his life to save an entire universe, Karma wouldn’t want to come near him.
But that doesn’t mean he can cheat the system and help those closer to him. Since his unlimited Karma cannot affect him, he would have to work for the Karma of others.
Imagine he found out Karma doesn’t affect him.
Wouldn’t he offer to take the Karma of others? When that happens, everything will go bad quickly, so he isn’t exempt when it comes to dealing with the Karma of others.
⟪Looks like your second wish was a success. However, be warned, when he calls, don’t turn a deaf ear to him. Karma gets what he is after, regardless of who you are to him or this universe.⟫
“I will keep that in mind.” Kent smiled, watching the sleeping body of the goddess in his arms.
“I have a question if you don’t mind,” Kent said.
⟪Go ahead.⟫
“Would her divinity change if I bestow a true name on her?” Kent asked. He already had plans to awaken the true names of his ladies before they hit the dungeons and go off to save worlds.
This includes Vexthra. However, he was afraid she would lose her divinity or it would change into something she isn’t willing to accept.
⟪I don’t think you should be worried about her changing. You should be concerned about what will happen to her after she gets a true name.
I don’t know how you understood true names, but they cannot be given casually. So, if you can give her a true name, then be ready to have a supreme on your hands soon.
A word of advice, though. Don’t do it in the open. Find a place where nobody can sense anything, regardless of their level.⟫
“I have just the place.” Kent smiled.
“Thank you for answering my question,” Kent said, showing his gratitude.
⟪No need to thank me. You’ve already taken on my quest, so hurry up and ascend to a high world where I can seek your help.⟫
