Chapter 471: The Best Husband
Vexthra woke up a day later feeling refreshed and more energetic than she could have sworn she felt the day before.
However, the moment she woke up, she sensed something was wrong.
“No need to look confused. I had Dori lock your memories of the knowledge you obtained about me and the Night Riders,” Kent said, looking at her angrily.
“Oh…” Vexthra muttered, already sensing Kent was angry.
“I know you are angry, but—”
“But what? You clearly knew the price for learning something this dangerous, yet you did it. How can you be this careless, Vex?” Kent asked.
“I just…” She bowed her head, feeling the anger in Kent’s voice.
“I know you just want to help me. But how are you helping me if it means you lose your life? Or do you want to die?”
“No.”
“Then why would you do something this dangerous? You are a goddess; you are supposed to know better than we mortals, so how can you be this reckless?”
“I just don’t want to be useless to you, okay? All I can do is ask about your everyday life while I stay here and do nothing.
While my sisters are out there helping you, I was stuck here doing nothing.” Tears started coming from her eyes.
“I just wanted to help. I never expected to bring more problems than solutions. I am sorry.” She broke down on his arm, sobbing like a little child.
Sensing her emotion and perhaps reflecting on his tone earlier, Kent knew he could have been more considerate with his words.
He spoke out of anger, and now, he regrets seeing his goddess sobbing on his arm. Under normal circumstances, he would have been shameless about that, but he genuinely felt bad speaking to her that way.
Being a goddess means she can’t descend casually to the lower realms. This frustrates her when she hears Kent fighting against one powerhouse after another.
Before becoming a goddess, she was a great warrior. She was a powerful soul weapon refiner, so getting stuck in the same place and not having the means to join her sisters on the battlefield was taking a toll on her.
Initially, she thought she could handle it, but now, she wished she had the means to fight beside them.
She wants to be more involved in his life, so when she saw a chance to help him, she took it. Too bad the outcome wasn’t the best.
Learning more about the Night Riders was her way of helping Kent understand his subordinates better and how best to protect and assist them.
She never expected to uncover such buried knowledge that wasn’t supposed to be spoken of ever.
Now, she had brought more danger to her man, and despite feeling her life force and divinity restored, she could tell Kent must have paid a huge price to save her.
Vexthra clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging into her palms as guilt gnawed at her heart.
She didn’t dare meet Kent’s gaze, afraid of what she might see reflected in those eyes that had always looked at her with such warmth.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered again, her voice barely audible.
Kent sighed, running a hand through her hair. The anger that once sharpened his words had dulled into something heavier—worry, fear, and the overwhelming burden of protecting those he cared about.
“You’re not the one who should be apologizing,” he said after a moment. “I should have looked for a way to connect you physically to your sisters. But I promise you will be more in my life from now on.
I even found a way to make you spend time with me outside the tower.”
The crying goddess looked into Kent’s eyes to determine whether he was speaking the truth or just playing with her.
“No need to look at me like that. If I found my way to the god realm, what makes you think I can’t help you roam the medium and high worlds?”

Kent smiled, wiping the tears still coming from her eyes.
At the moment, the dignified goddess was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, an emotional goddess was in her stead, making the moment both unbelievable yet extremely intimate to the brat whose brain worked differently.
“However, before we talk about that, know that until I say otherwise, you are not to recklessly go looking for forbidden knowledge about things that concern my life and that of your sisters.
It wasn’t until your incident that I realized my life isn’t simple. So from now onwards, you will listen to whatever I say and do what I say.
If you do otherwise, better be sure to receive some spanking.”
Vexthra giggled, hearing what he said.
But while she was smiling, she knew Kent was serious, so she also took his words to heart. She wouldn’t want to cause any more trouble for her man.
“And don’t worry, your memories won’t remain locked for long. I will look for a way to unlock them.”
“Actually, you don’t have to worry about that. I have somebody I can ask for help,” Vexthra said with a smile.
“Sorry, but even your mom doesn’t have a way,” Kent said, smiling, making Vexthra squint her eyes.
“What, you think I wouldn’t know the enchantress is your mother? While she is not your biological mother, I know a lot about how she cares about you.
It was also the reason why I know she doesn’t want to see you hurt. Actually, she was the one who helped me help you, so don’t worry, Mother-in-law is already on my speed dial.”
Vexthra smirked.
“I will find a way to help you unlock them safely this time,” Kent said, taking her hand.
“For now, you have to wear this,” Kent said, retrieving a ring from his space ring.
“Oh, are you proposing to me? If yes, then shouldn’t you go down on one knee?” Vexthra smiled.
“Girl, just take the ring. It will allow you to spend three days a month outside the tower. This means you can spend three days with me and your sisters outside this realm and the tower every month.”
Kent placed the ring on her index finger, making the goddess smile, and then kissed her man.
Kent just smiled at her antics and chose to indulge her.
If only she knew Kent had to spend all his tower points just to get her this ring, she would probably be crying for him now.
But what is love if not making sacrifices like that?
“You are the best husband a goddess could ask for,” Vexthra said.
“It’s good you know that,” Kent laughed.
“We still have time until you leave, so why don’t we make the best out of it?” Vexthra proposed, and the dragon nodded.
Thus, for the next couple of hours, they remained in each other’s arms, having the best sex of their lives.
Kent knew the moment he went back, the ladies would be all over him. Then he had missions to complete and even awakened a few True Names.
Five continents also await him to explore and dominate while picking beauties like flowers along the way.
It’s safe to say his life was about to get more interesting yet chaotic.
Meanwhile, General Kaelreth had just reached the headquarters of the Hand to deliver Kent’s message…
