Chapter 508: The Oracles
The cave is one of the secluded places on the human continent.

Well, it’s secluded simply because it’s a secret domain located in a pocket dimension. It’s technically not in the world of Sonox.

This place is where one of the most powerful organisations in the world of Sonox is located. It is an organisation of women who call themselves the Oracles.

Their base of operation is called the Cave, and aside from their top-ranking members, nobody, even if part of the Oracle, gets there. Only privilege ones can enter.

For nearly ten months now, the Oracles have been facing a rather grim situation when it come to using the fate strings and power of Karma.

This was due to something incredibly powerful that had messed with their senses.

Oracles are beings who have some connection to the universe and can manipulate fate and weave the fate of others. They use Karma to their advantage, which is rather dangerous.

However, since they are experts, they don’t get any backlash until Kent suddenly appears, and the Karma they take advantage of starts retaliating against them.

This caused them to start looking for why or what had caused that, but no matter how hard they looked, they couldn’t find anything—until Kent started causing waves everywhere.

That was when they noticed something.

No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t figure out anything about Kent, and as such, they were at a roadblock. They didn’t know what to do.

One thing about the Oracles: they don’t kill randomly, so knowing that perhaps Kent might be the reason for their recent headaches, they started keeping tabs on him.

However, all this changed when they received word from a powerful organisation, one they see as rivals in the game of shadows and deceit.

The Hand.

They received word that Kent was the cause of their troubles, and as such, they could do whatever they wanted to stop him.

This, of course, made them start paying more attention to him. So when he appeared again, they took action.

A dark-clothed lady could be seen flying through the shades of trees in what looked like a dense forest. Nobody was chasing her, but the speed she was moving could not be perceived with just the naked eye.

She was a peak Sovereign with a powerful aura that could not be ignored.

The way she moved also contained hidden patterns that could not be read unless one paid close attention or was taught with vivid detail.

After flying deeper into the thick forest, she stopped when she arrived at a section that looked like the entrance to a cave. She didn’t even bother to look around, confident that no one could have followed her.

Just a slight turn, and they would lose track of her. Trusting in her flight path, she knew she hadn’t been followed.

She stopped and walked closer to the cave entrance, forming a hand seal before pointing her finger at the opening.

A sudden burst of energy formed a portal at the cave’s entrance—nearly invisible to the eye. Trusting herself once more, she flew in, vanishing from sight in the next second.

When she appeared again, she was flying over a bustling forest that housed a small island, in the centre of which stood a rather extravagant castle.

Looking at it from above was simply breathtaking, considering the entire structure was built using jade—white jade crystals. It looked stunning.

However, it was home to some of the most ruthless women in the world of Sonox. The lady flew toward the building and only stopped when she was a few meters from the entrance.

The moment she alighted, she dropped to her knees and spoke.

“I have information about Kent Madson.”

Those were the only words she needed to say to be taken seriously, as the gates opened for her to enter. She moved in and soon found herself in a grand hall featuring sixteen chairs and one large throne.

Seated in the sixteen chairs were masked ladies, each exuding a potent Core Formation expert aura—one that Kent had never felt before.

Each possessed a distinct feel, indicating they were from different races. That was especially true for one of them, whose ear was noticeably longer than the average human’s.

However, it was the figure sitting on the throne who commanded the most attention. Her mere presence was enough to crush one’s hopes and dreams. She exuded a pressure similar to the leader of the Hand—an overwhelming force.

“Speak,” she said, her voice alone compelling the lady to drop to her knees. The sheer weight of her presence forced her mouth open.

“Kent Madson is out and has already killed every last member of the Clawed Shadow in all four kingdoms,” the words flowed from her lips.

“So, how is that going to help us? We already tried to get him, but he slipped away before we could reach him,” one of the figures in the chairs replied.

“That’s because this time, he won’t be slipping away—if we hurry,” the lady answered, directing her gaze toward the leader, despite being questioned by one of the sixteen.

“How confident are you that your intel is valid?” yet another figure asked.

“Because he’s about to clash with the Hunter.”

At the mention of the Hunter, the atmosphere in the room shifted.

“Are you sure?” The lady suddenly felt her body seized by one of the sixteen. She couldn’t resist—the pressure was too overwhelming.

“I’m sure. One of the Hunter’s lackeys made contact with him, and when I left, Kent Madson had just encountered that figure. Which means… the Hunter is already around—and waiting to hunt.”

The sixteen figures turned to look toward their leader, who, despite the dark veil covering her face, still radiated a beauty that could be felt.

They knew this was a great opportunity to kill the one who had made their lives miserable for the past several months.

The fact that the Hand went out of their way to inform them of Kent’s true presence was enough to confirm that he was indeed the key to ending their suffering.

“It seems our suspicions are valid. The Hand is clearly up to something big, so much so that they’ve unleashed the Hunter against Kent Madson.

Looks like this is our chance to kill two birds with one stone,” the leader of the Oracles said, smiling as she pulled a triangular-shaped item from her space ring.

“I will hand this mission to you, 16th Oracle. Ensure that Kent Madson and the Hunter do not see the light of day after today.” The item flew through the air and landed in the hands of one of the figures.

“I will handle it, Leader.”
