Chapter 510: The Legion of Eternal Wrath (1)
(Author’s Note: During the Primordial Era, when the Chaos Dragon sacrificed his soul and called out across space and time, fourteen different legions answered.

We’ve already met the Undead Legion, the Soul Sentinels, and the Lost Knights. So I guess it’s time to meet the next legion—known as the Eternal Wrath.)

***

On Kent’s side, there are two Transcendents, three Ascendants, and one Sovereign.

He himself is part of the three Ascendants, so asking him to face an onslaught of 14 Peak Core Formation experts isn’t logical, especially when they have a master whose presence is even more suffocating than all 14 of them combined.

This means Kent needed backup.

Of course, he could call forth the 13 Battle Dolls and let them fight for him, but that would just be them sacrificing their metallic bodies, because there was no way they would be able to do anything.

Their opponents are beings created from an unholy ritual, granting them overwhelming powers.

The 14 abominations are powerful and can easily dominate the Battle Dolls. So he knew that option was out of bounds.

Thankfully, he made his move at the right time. The reason being, Zareth and the rest of the undead had already cleared eight dungeons and claimed them.

Meaning he could now bind the dungeons to the tower, and per the function of the Dungeon Master Cards, he could summon them.

So the moment the hunter showed her true colours, he knew he had to make his own move. Though his team still wouldn’t have a Core Formation expert, he knew they wouldn’t be helpless either.

He just needed them to hold back the 14 while he handled their master. Per the rules of necromancy, the moment the master is dead, all the undead will follow.

So he bound the dungeons to the tower, which took less than a minute. Right when that was done, he decided to show the hunter he wouldn’t be easily killed.

Inside the Legion Tower, eight dungeons, each with 12 floors, appeared. At the top floor of each dungeon, eight beings, each sitting at the Sovereign’s stage, and an appearance bearing a different shape and size, appeared, with a look of shock on their faces.

Well, not all had expressions that could be read, but the way they were turning around said it all—they were shocked by something.

However, before they could wonder what was going on, Kent’s voice spoke to them.

“No need to look shocked. You are alive, and I need you to fight for me.” Right when his voice dropped, a portal appeared in front of each and every last one of them.

At the same time, the hunter ordered the fourteen abominations to kill Kent. Naturally, the eight beings on the last floor of the dungeons saw this, so they made their move without any hesitation.

The Orc chieftain swung his axe, sending it flying through the portal. Right when it appeared on the other side, it grew into a colossal axe, slamming into the ground with a thunderous boom.

The shockwave pushed the 14 back several meters.

“It’s that guy, Kaizo, who was ready to charge into battle, halted and turned toward the portal from which the axe came. There, the Orc chieftain appeared, looking coldly at the 14 abominations.

He is one massive orc, standing over 8 feet tall and with a hulking body covered in battle scars. Like any Orc, he has a scarred face with sharp tusks jutting out from his lower jaw.

He is clad in rough, patchwork leather armour with bits of iron and bone stitched in. His chest and shoulders are adorned with tribal markings.

He turned and looked at Kaizo briefly before turning back to the 14 abominations.

“Master, he calls himself Skoggr, and while I dislike his face, he is a very powerful fighter. However, I think he is mad because we took the Qi’lan crystal from him.” The look on Skoggr’s face showed he was mad about something.

This, of course, calls for many questions. But that can wait, considering the second figure appeared.

A powerful presence emerged from another portal, bringing a wave of lightning into the space. This one is a wyvern in humanoid form, wielding a large spear bathed in lightning.

“That one is Kha’azal. Though he appears quiet, don’t underestimate him,” Kaizo whispered to Kent, watching the draconic, muscular beast point his spear at the hunter and her army.

The look of surprise could be seen on her face as these two powerful beings appeared. However, her shock didn’t end there.

From the third portal, a skull-faced man appeared. His head was devoid of flesh, and his glowing red eyes revealed the horrors hidden within.

Where there should be hair, he has shadows swirling across his white, tattooed skull. He wears ancient, faded royal robes that flow with an eerie, ethereal light.

His hands are long and claw-like, with ethereal chains hanging from his wrists. A glowing, spectral scythe is also in his grip…

“That is Nykali. He is creepy and doesn’t fight himself. He summons some ghostly spectrals to fight for him,” Kaizo whispered again to Kent.

As if Nykali heard him, he waved his scythe, summoning hundreds of ghostly figures that hovered behind him.

“Like I said, he is creepy.” Kent smiled, watching how spoiled Kaizo was being. Clearly, the experience he had from the dungeon was still giving him nightmares.

Then the fourth appeared.

“It had to be that guy.” This time, it was Zareth who spoke as the towering titan appeared.

“He is the strongest of the eight we faced,” he muttered, looking at the titan brute, who was literally made of fire. His entire form blazed, and the hammer he wielded was forged from flame itself.

Kent narrowed his eyes when he saw this monstrosity standing over 12 feet tall with a giant hammer in his hand.

“When we faced him, had it not been for the Coil Dragon and the Alabaster Poison Serpent aiding us, we would have lost.

This bastard is powerful,” Zareth, who was always looking for a worthy opponent, knew he had found one in the form of an elemental titan.

‘Damn, that is one large brute,’ Kent thought. Looking at the towering figure, he knew he would get his chance to handle the hunter, who now wore a serious expression.

The rate at which the figures appeared on the battlefield was overwhelming.

Of course, the look on her face didn’t stop the fifth figure from coming out, too.
