Chapter 522: Where Their Fate Came From
“I need somewhere quiet with a high concentration of Chaos Qi. I will stay there for four days to train and prepare,” Kent requested, and the Elders turned to Velyra.

“I will take him there.” She didn’t need the approval of the tribe chief or the elders. She was the priestess, and they could only hope she was making the right decision if she wanted to take him to her dwelling.

“Before you go, I would like to know if you came with someone else,” Tribe Chief Malthar asked.

“Actually, yes. I was in the middle of a battle when I was brought here. My opponent was also transported here with me,” Kent answered.

“I guess she wasn’t lying when she said you are her enemy,” the tribe chief muttered. “She is currently locked up in our prison cell. If you want, we can take you to her and finish what you started.”

“She can wait. I have a much more important mission to handle.” Kent didn’t want to look nonchalant, but the fact that he hadn’t even thought of the hunter that much proved he didn’t really hate her.

She was just a pawn in a much bigger game. That was all. So while he would love to kill an enemy, he could also just let her wait a minute while he got his job done first.

“Then, in that case, you should go with my daughter. And Kent, I look forward to seeing how you can help us overcome our predicament.” The tribe chief and the elders held a hopeful gaze as Velyra took Kent away.

After leaving the throne room, the elders turned to their chief.

“What should we do now?” Farra, the lady elder with the whip as her go-to weapon, asked.

“There is nothing we can do but wait for the time to come. If we are destined to die, then we can only take as many as we can with us.

Remember, the first rule is killing…”

“Only in death can we stop killing,” the elders said.

“This means before we die, we have thousands of means to kill to our heart’s content.” The aura of killing radiated from their bodies as they prepared for their upcoming battle against the alliance.

Meanwhile, after leaving the throne room, Velyra led Kent up a certain mountain under the watchful eyes of every person they met or passed by.

“Do you not get enough visitors?” Kent asked.

“We usually kill every human we encounter. You are the second we let in—and the first we allow to move within the tribe.”

The first to enter was the hunter, who was taken straight to prison. Kent was the only one without chains.

“Lucky me, I guess,” Kent smiled and asked, “If you don’t mind me asking, where did your belief in the Mother of Killers come from?”

“Don’t get me wrong, I am not questioning your belief in the Mother of Killers, but I know for a fact the Mother of Killers isn’t from this world. So if that’s the case, where did this belief come from?”

The Mother of Killers was an entity who went by many names.

Before she was Shara, she was Zhara, who lived in the city of the strong, Vashrakar. She was born in battle and lived for battle.

Vashrakar wasn’t a place in these lands. The world she is from is a high world—and a very dangerous one. So, having people in a world she perhaps hadn’t even heard of was a rather unique situation.

This caught Kent’s curiosity, so he wanted to understand.

“Before our god died, she picked thirteen guards who later became her envoys. They move through thousands of worlds, saving people in the name of Shara.

Our race was one of such.

I don’t know if you know, but the Bloodvein tribe isn’t from this world. We are from a different world, but had to relocate here due to the war.

One tribe is just one of many in the millions of worlds in the universe.”

“Let me guess—you were saved by a follower of the Mother of Killers, and as such, your tribe adopted the believed and started walking the path of killers,” Kent said, and Velyra nodded.

“We were indeed saved by one of her envoys, and for thousands of years, we lived in harmony with our neighbours. However, it turns out peace can only last for so long.”

Velyra took a deep sigh, saying that.

Kent didn’t immediately say anything. Instead, he decided to let her have her moment before asking the second major question.

After a while, he asked,

“Nobody declares a war without making a demand. So, if you don’t mind me asking, what are they asking for?” Kent asked, and Velyra suddenly stopped, the air around her changing from calm to fury.

“Those bastards.” For someone who was supposed to be a priestess, her aura was rather sinister. She felt nothing more than a trained killer who had killed a lot of men.

“No offence, but I just wanted to know,” Kent reiterated, not wanting to be the recipient of her fury. Velyra, of course, knew that, so she calmed down and decided to answer.

“They want our most prized possession—something we cannot give to anyone. I can’t tell you what it is, but know that if we hand this item to them, we might as well hand our lives to them on a silver platter.

That is something we cannot do. So if it’s war they want, then they should come. We have nothing to fear here.”

Kent didn’t say anything anymore and just followed her up the mountain.

Inwardly, though, Kent was having a nice chat with the tower.

‘What is this item she is talking about?’ Kent asked the tower.

⟪It’s called the Blood Heart Stone. It’s a fist-sized crystal containing high-level blood energy and the essence of a mighty beast called Valthoroth, the Bloodthirsty Serpent.

Absorbing it would not only elevate your bloodline, but it would also grant you unique innate abilities like Regeneration, Blood Manipulation, and more.⟫

‘I guess they have a reason to keep it locked up. I wonder if they’ll be willing to let me have it.’

Kent smiled, thinking about that. A short while later, they arrived at a house sitting at the peak of the mountain. The moment they entered, Kent felt a shift in the air.

Without even doing anything, but only breathing, a message appeared…

⟪Your comprehension of Chaos Qi has improved moderately⟫
