Chapter 574: Selunara, Moonlit Gale [Bonus]
Long ago, during the age of the gods, the Moon Goddess, Lunar, roamed the universe just like her fellow gods and goddesses, looking for the best race to become her earthly champions.
She visited millions of worlds, but at every turn, no world seemed to impress her—that was, until she crossed paths with the Gale tribe.
They were a tribe known for migrating from one location to the next, in search of a place they could call home. However, after searching for thousands of years, they never found one, so they keep on searching.
But just as the Moon Goddess found what she was looking for after meeting them, they also found what they wanted.
You see, every god had to have champions during the age of the gods. Most gods, greedy as ever, went and claimed all the bigger worlds, housing multiple races.
They knew if they blessed an entire world with their blood, they would birth many champions to do their bidding, thereby keeping themselves relevant and ensuring their fate would never waver.
But the Moon Goddess wasn’t after that. Her expectation wasn’t to find a big race that could become her champion.
She wasn’t after a large race that could produce many champions; she was after a race that would be dedicated to her and her alone.
So the moment the Moon Goddess Lunar came across a tribe of 2,000, she felt they were the people she had been waiting for.
She blessed them with her blood, and that was when the Gale race became the LunarGale race, blessed with the innate ability to harness both the wind (gale) and the power of the moon (lunar).
The LunarGale suddenly found their place in the universe, and under the leadership of the Moon Goddess, they found a home they could call their own.
For thousands of years, they trained and produced many Lunar Champions.
However, regardless of how much the Moon Goddess expected from them, she was impressed with her gains. So, despite not having the might to compete with the other gods, she was happy.
However, thousands of years later, when the war of the gods started, the Moon Goddess fell, ending her legacy.
But did she truly die?
Millions of years after she fell, a rare celestial alignment during a full moon eclipse saw the birth of one of the greatest warriors ever.
They called her Lunessa, the one who harnesses the moon.
Lunessa was a no-name lady born into the now larger and stronger LunarGale race. Though their goddess fell, the moon still shone, so they thrived and continued to do so even after millions of years.
Lunessa joined the Silver Crescent Academy, a school dedicated to training elite swordsmen and women who uphold the legacy of the Moon Goddess.
That was when her life changed.
On her 16th birthday, during which the Moon Ritual was performed to call forth the blessing of the moon to guide and strengthen young warriors, Lunessa awakened the mark of the Moon Goddess, and that was when her legacy started to rise.
Legends spoke of her as one of the fastest people in the universe. Her speed was blinding, and her reflexes were on a different level.
The legends told of when the enemies of the moon—shadow wraiths and corrupted spirits arrived, she led the Lunar Guards in a 200-day battle that saw the extinction of one of the greatest dangers to the universe.
This act of bravery and commitment earned her the true name Selunara, Moonlit Gale. She was the one who could harness both the moon cycles and the wind patterns.
When the creatures of the Void attacked, in order to protect her race, she joined the battle, and that was the last time she was ever heard from.
Nobody knew where she went, whether she fell or survived the onslaught.
Many even speculated she was the reincarnation of the Moon Goddess, and that she transcended after the battle, blessing them from above.
However, to this day, the LunarGale race has never lost hope and still prays to the Moon Goddess using the name of their one true warrior, Lunessa.
However, today, things seem to have changed for many people. Far in the cosmos, every last moon seemed to come to life, brightening the sky as if something extraordinary was happening.
Meanwhile, inside the Soul Tower, all 13 moons in the sky were lit up, and a gale of wind as sharp as a razor was blowing around Val as she hovered in the air, surrounded by a mass of lunar energy.

‘Looks like most of my ladies have a thing for the moon. I wonder why that is,’ Kent said to himself, watching Val go through her awakening.
Suddenly, a moon crescent appeared on Kent’s forehead, making him smile.
“The gale washed over battlefields, bringing death to all who stood in her way. The one that commanded the moon and harnessed its power to dominate.
She who was favored by the universe, the one who impressed the moon, the heir of the moon.
They called her by many names, referred to her by many titles.
But she goes by one name: Selunara, Moonlit Gale.
Your name still echoes in every corner of the cosmos and on battlefields, awaiting you to take arms and grace the battlefield once more.
Rise, Selunara, Moonlit Gale, your destiny awaits.”
The moment Kent said what had to be said and invoked her true name, the wind suddenly stopped, and then from the sky, a white sword with blades glowing under the moonlight flew and entered Val’s hand.
She raised it, and a powerful energy shot from it, entering the clouds.
Far in the reaches of the High Worlds, a pillar lit up, and the moon that had never completed a full cycle before finally turned full, illuminating the night sky.
“The Moon Goddess has risen,” a voice called out from within an elegant temple, spreading millions of miles away. Every last citizen went to their knees, and in unison, all chanted simultaneously,
“We hail the Moon Goddess, may your name flourish and nourish the dying night skies.”
Back inside the Soul Tower, Kent watched as energy from the 13 moons moved and entered Val’s body. After a while, the energy transfer stopped, and she flew down straight into Kent’s arms.
