Chapter 580: An Unexpected Outcome [Bonus]
Among the millions of things Kent wanted to see, watching the lifeless bodies of his wives wasn’t one of them.
However, today, he stood rooted in the same spot, watching such a sight with his mind blank and emotions turned off.
He couldn’t think or even express anything.
His body was rooted in the same spot, and all he could do was stare at this horrifying sight. It was like he died the moment his eyes landed on it.
His mind, which had gone blank, soon started to stir, and that was when the confusion set in.
He couldn’t think or even come to terms with how this had happened.
First, he asked himself why. But there was no answer except the grim sight of his ladies hanging lifeless. That was the answer to his why question.
He asked who. But after racking his mind, he couldn’t come to a conclusion about who would be able to kill his wives. This raised so many questions.
One of those questions was how it happened. Where was he, and why did it happen? Yet again, the ‘WHY’ appeared in his questions.
Then there was the part where he was locked up.
That part then raised the two most important questions: why was he locked up, and how did that lead to the death of his wives? These questions were so daunting that they again circled back to why.
Why was he locked up? What led to him being locked up? When was he locked up? Who locked him up? These questions made him start to go mad.
Then again, when he was locked up, how did they get to his ladies? What happened to the tower?
“Just what the hell is going on?”
Tears started to fall from his eyes as he stared at his ladies, his body refusing to move.
“Who had the spine to touch my wives?”
“…why… just what happened?”
“Why was I locked up, which led to my wives paying the price?”
Kent’s emotions started to appear, which eventually made him start to feel something.
Guilt, anger, more guilt, and hatred—but more than the rest was guilt.
He was feeling guilty, something he knew must be the cause of their death. The anger clearly had something to do with the one who caused this. As for the hatred, he knew they must pay.
Suddenly, the sound of someone crying entered his ears, causing him to snap back to reality. He lowered his eyes, and that was when he saw Vexthra’s bloodied body on the ground, crying.
His senses snapped straight, and without any delay, he ran to her.
However, when he was drawing near, his speed slowed down and eventually came to a halt when Vexthra shot him a hateful glare, something that penetrated his soul.
“Vex, it’s me, Kent,” Kent said, trying to make her aware, but this only deepened the hatred in her eyes. She was grinding her teeth as blood flowed from her nose, mouth, eyes, and ears.
“Go back to where you came from,” Vexthra said, gathering her energy into her speech. “Where were you when we needed you? Where were you when my sisters were dying?”
“You now have the face to stand here when everything is over, and what, you think I will spread my arms and welcome you. Go away.
Anything you touch turns to ruin, and anything you go after dies eventually.”
Kent felt his heart breaking at every syllable coming out of her mouth. He just did not understand what was going on. However, he also didn’t know what to do in that instance.
“Go back to where you came from. We don’t need you.” Those lines shattered his heart, and with it, the scene around him also shattered.

Kent found himself standing inside an eerie garden similar to the one inside the harem tower: the Love Garden.
His tears were flowing, and even without knowing it, his sword appeared in his hand, and his strength started to return. It moved so high that his strength soon was at the True God stage before it stopped.
However, he was so consumed by his emotions that his aura alone grew chaotic, destroying the lush garden around him.
“You know she was right, anything you touch does turn to ruin,” a voice suddenly entered his ears, causing him to turn.
“Zaila,” he called out, but the lady who looked exactly like his Zaila shook her head.
“I am not your Zaila… she is dead.” Hearing this made Kent’s emotions flare again. His grip on his sword tightened, but he said nothing.
“Aren’t you going to ask how it happened?” the lady asked, but Kent didn’t even bother to look at her.
“What’s the point in knowing how it happened? Clearly, I wasn’t there when they needed me, and because of that, they all died. I killed them, so why should I even bother with anything?”
“Not even the ones who killed them?” the lady asked with her brow raised.
“If the ones who did were so important to know, Vex would have said something. But all she did was show how much they hate me.” Kent raised his teary eyes and looked at the lady.
“Tell me this: would knowing about those who killed my wives bring them back or wash away the hate? I can kill the entire universe, which will eventually include the ones who did this, but I can never gain back their love.
They are dead, and I am sure the last thing they thought about before dying was how much they hate me.”
The lady went quiet, hearing Kent speak.
“You wouldn’t actually kill the entire universe, right?” For a moment, panic set in her tone. And when Kent raised his head and looked at her, that panic intensified.
Somehow, Kent was remembering everything. Everything that led to him losing everything. His mind started to crack, and his anger continued to flare as the memories of something made-up started flowing in.

Far at the core of the universe, Lady Universe’s eyes suddenly widened, causing Dori to turn to her.
“Mother, what is it?” He wasn’t even done when Lady Universe answered.
“Go back, Doriana. Chaos needs you, and don’t worry, I will keep the cosmic channel open so you won’t run out this time.”
Dori needn’t be told twice. She vanished and appeared inside the soul tower, where everyone was frozen in time.
When she walked close to Kent, she saw his eyes had turned red, and the pain, hatred, and resentment in them weren’t ones she had seen before.
Even the god of hatred and resentment would shudder if they saw his eyes.
She quickly entered his mind, and what she saw made her shudder in her soul.
