Chapter 593: Dangerous Beauties
“No… No… No.”

A white-haired man, probably in his late 60s, or perhaps due to his cultivation technique, he had aged faster than he should, stomped hard on the ground, veins popping on his forehead as he gazed at the empty expanse of land.

His skin was a little purple, and his veins looked more green than they should. This was a clear sign that, despite his lineage as a shadow demon, he was indeed being affected by the cultivation technique he was using.

But the popping of the veins part was due to what he saw.

Where the Bloodvein tribe used to stay was now empty; not even a fraction of the life that used to be there remained. It was clear to him that they were gone.

His prey had escaped.

The ones he spent the last 23 years of his life plotting against had slipped under his nose, and the painful part was that the tracker he used to track them, even while he was far in the demon continent, was not working anymore.

This showed that he had lost his prey, which greatly angered him.

“Where is my Bloodheart stone?” He released his aura, sending powerful shadowy energy, creating chaos in his wake.

He was pissed, and judging by his reaction, he was very scared for his life, too. Perhaps this wasn’t as simple as it seemed.

Four miles from him, Velyra, Alina, Elaine, Ingrid, Vari, Lani, Neomi, and Selene hovered in the air, looking at him with impartial expressions.

“So he is a shadow demon,” Lani muttered, looking in the direction of the demon who was the cause of the Bloodvein tribe nearly losing their lives had Kent not intervened.

Naturally, he came for the Bloodheart stone.

The spell part was for his allies to get what they wanted: to take the Bloodvein tribe as their slaves. That was the endgame for the Dreadclaw and Soulshroud tribes.

But now, both tribes have lost abysmally against the Bloodvein tribe, and the mastermind behind it all has lost his treasure-or, more accurately, the treasure he coveted.

“How are we going to do it?” Ingrid asked. “I feel like ganging up on him will be bullying.”

The ladies couldn’t argue with that. Though she exaggerated a bit, if they all moved on him, he would be done for before he knew it.

They are now very powerful, and Vexthra sending eight of them was more like her way of making sure the job was done well.

Any of them could get the job done.

“He is a shadow demon, and as a being connected to shadows, he can make a run for it easily. However, if I were to go, I would lock the shadows, rendering him unable to run.

However, that would be a waste since he can’t run from me or Lani even if he is five times stronger than us,” Vari said with a smirk.

“We get it, you two are good at sneaking around,” Selene joked, causing her sisters to laugh.

But like Vari said, this was a cool chop for Lani or herself.

“How about Velyra and I handle this? I won’t attack; I will only lock the space around the two and let her vent her anger.

After all, this man was the reason she nearly lost her tribe,” Alina proposed, and without even thinking hard about it, the ladies nodded.

What Alina said was indeed true: Velyra was a Bloodvein, and though her race and bloodline changed, she was still the same sexy red, so they wanted the man who threatened her people to be handled by her.

“Make sure he is not dead. We want him alive so that Kent can question him when he is done cultivating,” Neomi reminded Alina and Velyra before they vanished.

Far in the distance, the demon sensed someone appear in his surroundings, causing him to draw a weapon. However, even when his eyes landed on Velyra, a smile appeared on his lips.

“Girl, where are your people? I have something important to discuss with them,” he asked in a tone that suggested he wanted to see if he could play mind games with the red-skinned beauty. However, Velyra smirked.

“I guess someone who can willingly cast a spell to destroy an entire race would look ugly both on the inside and the outside,” Velyra said, and Alina couldn’t help laughing.

This sight pissed the demon off, so he jumped, thrusting his dagger in Velyra’s direction. However, Alina just waved her hand, and hundreds of runes appeared in the air, creating a barrier between them and the demon.

His dagger landed on the defense, and as if it had absorbed the attack, a powerful beam shot from the barrier, sending the demon flying to the ground.

“Oops,” Alina smirked. “Sorry, Velyra. I won’t attack him again; he’s all yours.” Alina formed a seal, activating a formation. It expanded and covered a three-mile radius, rendering the shadow demon incapable of escaping.

“Blood Slash.” Velyra didn’t even let the demon get back up as she unleashed a power sword, sending a blood-red sword arc at the demon.

But that wasn’t all. She moved in five different directions and unleashed the same attack five more times, causing six arcs to rain on the demon.

He managed to defend against four. However, the last two landed on his body, cutting wounds into his chest and arm.

He lifted his arm, looking at the wounds for a few seconds before his eyes widened. He even staggered back, distancing himself from Velyra.

“You… you absorbed the Bloodheart stone?” he asked as if trying to figure something out. However, Velyra became puzzled.

“What nonsense are you talking about? Why would I absorb a treasure that belongs to my race?” Velyra asked. The demon shook his head.

“…No. How do you explain the fact that I am not healing from the wounds you caused? Only those from your race who have awakened their true bloodline can do that.”

He tried to slip into a shadow and make a run for it, but he couldn’t, which dumped another shock on him. The shadow channel was not responding to him.

Velyra was puzzled for a moment before a smile appeared on her lips.

“You can’t run because the entire space is locked, and for my bloodline, you will meet the one who helped me awaken it soon enough. For now, you must suffer for what you did to my tribe.”

Velyra unleashed another Blood Cut, thus beginning the nightmare for the shadow demon whom the demon king sent to retrieve the treasure that holds the future of the demon race…
