Chapter 609: Meeting King Hkum
After entering Emberwood, they flew for a couple of minutes before coming to a stop in front of a tall, elegant building.
It was made from the finest materials, and the arrays protecting the building were enough to withstand even a full-blown attack from a Spirit Lord.
“Open the gate, the Supreme Advisor has returned,” General Raynar shouted. The large gate immediately started to open, passing through many formations. After a while, the gate fully opened, and carriages entered.
The carriage moved in, and a few seconds later, they stopped again. This time, they had to get down and walk.
The moment Kent, Dori, and Shawn alighted, a pretty young fox girl jumped into Dori’s tiny arms, sending the two of them to the ground.
“Princess Lyra, you—” Dori tried to say something, but she was on the ground before she could say anything.
Princess Lyra was just too happy to see her friend again, so she couldn’t help jumping into her arms as tears fell from her eyes.
Kent just shook his head and looked forward.
His eyes landed on three individuals. Two of them were men, and the third was a lady. All three looked like royalty.
However, while Kent saw many foxkins with fur on their bodies and faces while riding through the streets of Emberwood, these three were more human-like, like General Ragnar.
The only things that showed they were foxkins were their tails and pointed, fluffy ears. Aside from that, they were basically human like him.
The two men with the lady each had green hair, green fluffy ears, and four tails—well, one of them had five tails, though the fifth tail was still at the blooming stage.
As for the lady, she had white hair with six fluffy tails.
In the fox race, their tails show their power.
The higher the number of tails, the more powerful they are, so this was a clear sign that the lady was much stronger than the two handsome men standing on the left and right.
Watching their younger sister now dusting off Dori’s clothes, they couldn’t help but hide their embarrassed expressions.
“Sorry, Lady Tala, I was just too happy to see you,” Princess Lyra said, smiling embarrassedly.
“Don’t worry about it. Also, I already told you to call me Tala; we are friends,” Dori said with a smile before focusing on the three individuals.
“Princess Arien, good to see you again,” Dori said. “Prince Sylas, Prince Daryn.”
“Glad to see you again, Lady Tala,” all three said. Dori turned and introduced Kent and Sword King Shawn. Princess Arien and her two brothers nodded in response to Kent and Sword King Shawn.
“Thank you for saving us the last time,” Princess Lyra said, causing her siblings to raise their brows.
“You are the mysterious foreigner who saved the princess?” General Raynar asked, taken aback by the sudden reveal she had been hoping to know for months now.
Though Nyxira wiped the memories of most of the beastkins they saved when rescuing Dori, Dori made sure Princess Lyra’s and her maid’s memories weren’t wiped.
So she told her family, which included the general. According to her, the people who saved them are some of the most powerful beings she has ever seen.
She was just a naive Level 3 Great Sage then, so when she saw the colossal beasts that Kent and his team killed that day, she couldn’t help singing their praises to her family.
To her siblings and those who knew how she was rescued, it seemed that perhaps some powerful beings, who could bring their race to its knees, had come for Dori. But hearing it was the weak Level 2 Sovereign human before them who saved her, the general couldn’t help but ask.
“Well, they weren’t that difficult to kill.” Kent, of course, wouldn’t tell them the strength level of the bandits they killed that day.
Though this is a High world, it doesn’t mean everyone’s strength is between the Spirit Ascension and Heavenly Ascension stages. Some people are still at the Root Master stage.
The only difference is that the limit on them doesn’t stop them at the Core Formation stage. They can rise as far as the Heavenly Ascension stage before they will be required to ascend to an immortal world.
General Raynar studied Kent’s demeanor for a few seconds before a sign escaped his lips. “Thank you for saving the princess and the Supreme Advisor.”

“Don’t worry about it. I wouldn’t sleep well knowing this spoiled brat runs off getting herself caught,” Kent said, roughing Dori’s hair.
“Hey, who said we were caught? It was a calculated move that allowed us to maintain our cover and drew suspicion away,” Dori said, puffing her cheeks.
“Yeah… yeah… I guess next time, include the possibility of getting caught in your calculation.”
“You—” Dori turned away from Kent, folding her small hands on her chest, puffing her cheeks like a spoiled loli.
The princesses and princes watching this couldn’t help but wonder just where their respected and elegant Supreme Advisor had gone. In the end, they just smiled and led the way inside, where the king was waiting for them.
He was already aware of the Supreme Advisor’s arrival the moment two guards, Ralen and Vexen, stopped Kent, Dori, and Sword King Shawn.
When it comes to space magic, the foxkin are the best in that field. So sending a message to their king thousands of miles away wasn’t much of a stress.
They entered a large hall where six people could be seen sitting in what looked like a meeting. The setup showed that the muscular man with pointed fox ears and eight fluffy black tails was King Hkum.
He was seated in the head chair, a throne-like chair made from pure gold. On his left sat three people, and on his right were two.
All five with him are at the 9th level Spirit Emperor stage, while the king is at the level 4 Spirit Lord stage.
“Father, look who is back!” Princess Lyra, who was walking with Dori, said, holding Dori’s small hand. She was happy that her best friend had returned.
“I am not blind, Little Lyra…” King Hkum said with a smile, and the five people inside the hall with him also smiled. They all seemed happy to see their Supreme Advisor return safely.
“Welcome back to Emberwood, Lady Tala. It’s good to see you well and in one piece,” King Hkum said, and Dori nodded.
“It’s good to be back, too.”
They quickly sat down after Dori introduced Kent and Sword King Shawn.
