Chapter 636: Law of Creation [Bonus]
“This sounds more like a fantasy to me,” Kent smirked. The underworld, where the soul travels, is not a place one could easily escape or refuse to go.
The moment you die, your soul will be ferried to that place. So, for Chaos to say his soul never went to that place, there has to be a reason.
Kent didn’t really expect the conversation to reach this stage, but he had to know, and from Chaos’s expression, it was clear he wanted to tell him because what he had to say was something Kent must understand early on in his journey to the top.
“I didn’t enter the underworld because I didn’t want to. And yes, I have the means to refuse death.”
“How?” Kent asked.
“Because the reason why I was known as the greatest was due to something I achieved that, to this day, nobody has, and nobody else would be able to reach that… I touched the Dao of creation.”
Kent looked at Chaos for a few minutes, then a big sigh escaped his lips. “This is the part where you tell me what the Dao of creation is.”
Chaos laughed at what Kent had said. It sounded funny, but Kent was rather frustrated. It felt like he knew nothing, despite having already gone through Jest Memories for hundreds of years.
This also means that Jest doesn’t have memories of this, or he hasn’t yet reached that stage, which makes this conversation very important. He must know; he had to learn, and thus, Kent started to probe for information.
“It is simple, actually. I was the only one, and I am still sure I am the only one to master all seven primordial laws to perfection.” Chaos looked at Kent with an amused expression.
“Life, Death, Time, Space, Void, Elemental, and Chaos. These are the seven laws of creation. All seven of these came together to form Creation. In other words, Creation came about due to these seven laws, and I master all of them.”
Kent raised his brow, a shocked expression playing on his face.
‘All seven laws of creation were mastered to perfection by him alone. That must have taken a very long time.’
“100 million years, to be exact,” Chaos said, showing he could read Kent’s mind. Not that it wasn’t obvious, but Kent didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, so he looked at Chaos and asked a simple question.
“How was that possible?”
“It was very simple, really. I was challenged by someone to learn all seven primordial laws, and if I succeeded, they would grant me a special kind of reincarnation.
I know you will ask, but I can’t say who. However, you should know that this challenge wasn’t simple; it changed the fate of the universe we inhabit, and also the reason why we can never truly die.
It may appear in the history books that I died, but in reality, I didn’t. I created a different path, one where I disperse my existence in thirteen places.”
Kent nodded with a thoughtful expression. “Why do such a thing? If I have the power of creation at my fingertips, why then do I have to go through all these troubles, leaving thirteen lives?
Why not just keep living the one life you had?”
Chaos smiled. “That is indeed a good question, Kent. But I can’t tell you why, though I can say sometimes, when you are at the end of your wits, you just have to look into the future and possibly timelines and wonder, what if I once had someone who could save me?”
Kent’s eyes widened, causing Chaos to smile.
Kent understood the reference, and it was something he learned the hard way. Vexthra had already spoken about the 14 legions that appeared during the great war.
She said they came from the future. And now, Chaos is talking about time and living thirteen lives. Linking the two makes perfect sense.
First, in a way, he might have found out the universe was dying or would die, and that was why he had to learn the law of creation.
This was because the laws of this universe are not that forgiving, and the only way to navigate them was to know them.
He had mastered creation, and so, even long before the war arrived, Chaos had already made his preparations.
And of course, this preparation didn’t happen in his present; it happened in his future, and the only way for him to be able to see that everything was in order was to ensure he was the one who formed this legion.
This means he had lived many lives that he created, and in these lives, his sole existence was to complete a task.
But if that was the case, does that mean his original existence was included in this task completion quest? Kent’s mind moved, forming all possible understanding he could derive from this.

‘Thirteen lives, each with a purpose, each with a task. But why… I don’t understand.’
Chaos looked at Kent and smiled. Some things are not said out loud, and so Kent understood he can’t ask him.
This must be figured out on his own. The meaning behind his existence lay in his own hands. To understand what he had done during the primordial era, he must first ask himself some of the most important questions.
One being, how did he come to this conclusion that to save the past, the future must be secured?
But he already had an answer for that.
‘The undead, the Lost Knights, the soul sentinels, and now, I have a feeling the dungeon bosses are also part of said legion.’
‘This means all the 13 lives I led yielded one legion. Meaning in this life, I had yet to form a legion, the 14th legion, and somewhere in the future, I would be required to assemble all of them to face the Great War.’
‘But if that is the case, then did this mean I will have to fight the Great War all over again?’ Kent asked himself, and the answer was rather funny.
‘No. The concept of time is something I don’t understand, but if I know how the clock works, turning the hour hand back doesn’t mean it will remain in that position forever; it will eventually move forward to its original state.
Then this can only mean one thing.’
Kent turned and looked at Chaos, who already understood what was happening in Kent’s mind.
‘This means time is not moving at all. It means somehow, I circled around time and did something that shouldn’t be possible, and now, I must pay for it…’
Kent broke into a cold sweat. ‘This bastard.’
