Chapter 638: The Primordial Chaos Dragon [Bonus]
Chaos was a name that, from the start of his life, was all about being Chaotic.

He was a child born without parents. He was born into the chaotic world of Lumen, a rather sinister place that had ever existed during the primordial era.

Lumen, as they called it, was the kind of place the scum of society loved… and Chaos was one such scum, from the moment he was born—well, hatched.

From the moment he opened his eyes, he never knew peace—a young dragon with nothing but his wit pushing him.

Dragons from Lumen are known as natural predators, and Chaos quickly picked up this nature, the predatory nature.

Chaos grew up learning how to survive from one night to the next and how to make the next move to secure the next day.

He never dreamed of what he would eat in the next two days or the week ahead. His dream was always about what to eat today and what to eat tomorrow.

Thinking too far ahead was but an unrealistic dream to Chaos. He didn’t believe he could live that long to see that day. So the farthest dream he could dream was 24 hours ahead.

And that was his life, and Lumen was his only place to keep his head. He liked it there regardless. He had friends—other scum who would do anything for food.

However, was Lumen really this hard? Was it meant to be this hard?

The answer is no. The reason Lumen was a challenging place to love was due to the three great families who never stopped fighting over resources.

They are the cause of everything wrong with Lumen, and people like Chaos were left to bear the hard life, for that was what they were created for.

By 17, Chaos had lost more friends than he could count. Every friend he lost was a stark reminder of how worthless life is.

But as a Chaos Dragon, Chaos never truly believed his life was worthless. No, Chaos believed his destiny was to lay waste to the three great families, so that was what he did.

A creature born out of chaos is meant to bring chaos to everyone. He knew his life had purpose, and to realize that life, to be able to dream and see his life more than 24 hours ahead, he knew he had to become who he was meant to be.

So Chaos jumped into the Primal Void, the only place the three Great Families couldn’t control; it was also a place only Chaos could enter without difficulty, for that was where he was born.

Nobody knew what was in there, and nobody wanted to find out; after all, millions who had gone in thousands of years before had yet to return. So when Chaos said he would be back, his words were but a joke to many.

Until he returned, 30 years later.

The day he returned was the day of reckoning for the three great families.

Chaos entered the Primal Void as a mortal dragon and returned as a Chaos Dragon with powers none of the people in Lumen could comprehend.

He was able to influence the very air around him, turning calmness chaotic and making life as chaotic as it could be. His mere presence was disorganized, and his absence was even more chaotic.

Wherever his name was mentioned, chaos erupted, and whenever his presence was felt, it never washed away.

In the end, Lumen became the Lumen that most immortals sought to visit, to gain insight into an existence whose mere name could bring tyrants to their knees years later.

Kent opened his eyes, feeling the air around him turn chaotic. His body was reacting to it, and while he never honestly asked for it, his form had changed into that of a demi-dragon.

The air shifted, twisting with its chaotic essence for a few hours before it came to a stop. By then, Kent felt his body undergo some changes that left him in awe of what had just happened to him.

“This feeling is great; it is like I can stand against anything and have no fear.” His blood was boiling, and the madness that came with it was influencing him.

“No wonder Chaos was that mad. To stand against three such powerful families and smile at them, I have to say, he had some spine,” Kent chuckled.

He saw how Chaos came about. His birth was never truly understood, but his life had been a harsh one. However, he learned from it, adapted, and made his resolve when he lost too much.

So he understood where the madness was coming from, and as someone who had the Chaotic Bloodline that once brought immortals and gods to their knees, Kent understood he was no simple person.

“However, there is a problem here,” Kent sighed.

“I need to find a way to temper my bones with chaotic essence. Chaos had the Primal Expanse for that. But I don’t, and while using pressure can do that, I need to get the real thing. That is the only way I can realize my potential as a Chaos Dragon.”

Chaos didn’t use any weapons; he was a body cultivator, and as such, he had become powerful by tempering his body and bones.

Kent had already started tempering his body; it was left with his bones, and while the Titan Stairway had given him elixirs that had started tempering his bones, now that he had awakened Chaos’s memories, he knew he wasn’t doing much.

The best part was that he had the Chaos bloodline, which would slowly temper his bones as he awakened it. Talking about his bloodline, Kent checked the messages he had received.

⟦Congratulations, you have awakened 13% of your Primordial Chaos Dragon Bloodline⟧

“There were no new aspects, but I can move two times faster than when it was just 10% awakened. Also, my claws have become much stronger, and my scales make my defense even harder.

I guess I didn’t run out of luck getting the first memories out of the way. Now, I need to check the second.” Kent used the key, but to his shock, a golden diary appeared, showing he was ready for his first Dragonic Enlightenment.

He opened it and started to read.
