Chapter 415: Armour of the Evernight Sovereign
“That’s why they’ll all be dead before they can get the message across.”
Mira tried to interject after Alex said this, but he continued speaking.
“And even if they do find out and start ramping up their defences, so what? We’ll just find some place to hide it out while we recuperate and then go at it again when we are back up to 100%.”
“We’ll use guerilla tactics. Besides, that was only my power before killing the King of Evermoor. From what I can tell, I might be able to deliver an even more powerful, much more deadly attack on an even bigger scale!”
Mira couldn’t do anything but relent after seeing how adamant Alex was about this whole thing.
But deep inside her she wanted to take revenge too, it’s just that she wasn’t as confident as Alex was at pulling it off on such a huge scale.
“Now, don’t we have something to do before attempting this grand task?”
Alex quickly shuffled the topic of conversation along, as he pulled out a particular item that held both of their interests upon seeing it…

Alex and Mira settled in a secluded grove a good distance away from the Red Demon base camp.
They didn’t want an unlucky Red Demon scout coming across them while they were busy after all…
Alex glanced around one last time, ensuring that there were no life signatures lurking nearby, then mentally reached into his spatial storage.
With a bit of magical trickery, two beautiful sets of sleek, red-scaled armour appeared before them, shining brilliantly under the sunlight filtering through the trees.
“Here it is…”
Alex murmured, happy that he could finally get the chance to try his new armour on without being cock blocked by Rothwind!
Mira’s fingers excitedly stretched forward as they almost trembled when they finally connected with the surface of the armour.
The material felt cool under her fingertips, and there was a strange, almost living sensation to it.
“Rothwind really outdid himself this time…”
She whispered in a voice filled with admiration and awe.
But in the next moment, something even more unexpected occurred that literally took her breath away.
A system interface appeared before her.
Nothing like this had happened to her before, and Alex had never mentioned the fact that Virtue’s Edge had its own details as well, so she didn’t even know that something other than awakened could have an interface!
Alex did the same as her and gently caressed his armour
He held the armour up, inspecting each piece closely, and as he did, the same system interface shimmered into existence above the suit of armour just like it did for Mira.
Unbeknownst to the two of them, an invisible link had been formed between them and their armour completely undetectable.
If Rothwind were there, he would have been slack jawed at how quickly the pieces of armour chose them as their owners…

“This… this is insane!”
Mira uttered her shock out loud, left completely speechless afterwards by what she had just read.
After going through the details of her armour, all she could think was ‘what…?’
She read the details of the armour over and over, increasing her heart rate each time she did so.
“This is more than just armour…”
She uttered in absolute awe.
Her eyes shifted to the final ability — Destruction.
A one time use ability that would utterly annihilate everything around her, sacrificing even the armour in the process, and if she guessed right, maybe even the wearer…
And reading through the description of the ability, she noticed a peculiarity in wording.
It said that it released all the energy it had built up over its lifetime, so wouldn’t that mean that the potential damage would increase with every battle she was ever in, and with every hit she had ever taken to the armour?
If so, that would be absolutely terrifying…
Of course, she would never, ever consider even using Destruction unless literally every other trump card she could think of had already been used up and it was her only option in the face of certain death.
It sacrificed the armour itself, so she had to be careful in using it, and judging by how epic sounding the ability was, it probably wouldn’t be any help to any friendlies on her side either.
That ability would probably only be useful in certain situations, where she was perhaps the only human around for hundreds, perhaps even thousands of kilometres.
Or if she used the ability after years upon years had passed, and all the energy that had been built up over that time were to be released, who knew how powerful it would be?
Enough to destroy the planet beneath her feet…?
Perhaps even the entire star system itself…?
The thought honestly scared her.
“Alex… this is dangerous…”
She finally spoke, lifting her gaze to meet Alex’s, who held a similar look of awe as she did.
“I know, but isn’t dangerous exactly what we need right now?”
Alex’s response was quick, as if he didn’t even need time to consider it.
And Mira understood why as well.
If worst came to worst while trying to eradicate the Telorn system of the Red Demons, then they could activate Destruction, and kill everything around them.
And the likelihood was that they were the only two humans left in this system, so they stood no risk of causing any collateral damage either.
