Chapter 494: Considerations
[Have you suddenly been sent a message about Hidden Requirements by the System? Click this to find out more!]
[I don’t require any introduction, for all of you who have access to this document would know my name already.]
Alex read the first line and couldn’t help but look at the author’s name.
Archie Dunn.
‘Nope, never heard of him.’
However Alex wasn’t interested enough to do any research on the guy.
Instead, he just continued reading the document.
[If you’re here, it means the System has deemed you worthy (or unlucky) enough to receive the elusive message about Hidden Requirements. First off, congratulations. You’re part of a very small, select group. And no, you’re not special. Not yet, anyway.]
[Hidden Requirements are still largely unknown and obscured from even the highest levels of the Federation’s knowledge. They are exactly what they sound like: obscure, undocumented challenges that is suspected to be available not just to a select few people, but to every awakened that is welcomed to it’s grasp. However, for reasons we still do not know, only a very, very small number of people have received this notification from the System. In fact, the number is less than 10, including me, of course.]
[Nor do we know what these Hidden Requirements we have complete are, only that we have met them.]
[But what I can say for a fact is that every single awakened who is greeted by this message will become an S tier powerhouse in the future, if their path is not cut short by external forces of course.]
[There are some guesses as to what these requirements are, but none of these line up after discussing with other individuals who have received this same message. From this, we can only deduce that the nature of these requirements varies widely depending on the individual’s talents, traits, and circumstances. What remains constant though, is the System’s refusal to explain them outright.]
[Why? Who knows? I’ve spent decades researching this phenomenon, and my best guess is that it’s part of some sort of cosmic quality control. The System weeds out the unworthy or challenges the exceptional. Think of it as the ultimate cosmic filter.]
[But there is one common factor that all of us message receivers share — the message of completion of the Requirements arrives at a critical juncture in your life. Pay attention to your surroundings, recent actions, and even the people you’ve encountered. The trigger for your Hidden Requirement may lay in one of those.]
The document ended there.
Alex didn’t know what to think.
He was conflicted.
On one end, the document seemed legit, and it did to some extent answer some of his questions.
But that was it.
It only answered ‘some of them.’
Probably like 1% of them.
In a way, the document didn’t really tell him anything that he couldn’t have found out himself.
The fact that everyone who received the message had become an S tier was interesting, but again, there were flaws in that argument.
The author described the hidden requirements as something like a filter that found the diamonds in the rough of society, essentially.
So, if this were the case, would those who had passed the requirements not have that potential regardless of the requirement’s involvement?
Were their rises to power related to the Hidden Requirements, or was it just a minor contributing factor based on coincidence?
However, while the document didn’t produce as valuable results as he had hoped for, Alex was still certain of one thing.
Whatever the message was about, the System wouldn’t have just sent it to him for no reason.
There was meaning behind it, and he just had to find it.
It’s just that if even the S tiers were unable to garner any more useful information on it, how would he, a minor C tier, do so…

‘Perhaps this requirement relates to something beyond S tier?’
His thoughts drifted for a bit, but nothing came of it.
Regardless, he had work to do.
More specifically, searching for a B tier King class beast to kill!

The celebrations lasted a whole week across the Federation, and the citizens were all partying day and night until they physically couldn’t anymore.
However, deep in the round table room at the core of the Federation, some discussions about the future were taking place.
“Although the war is over, there is alot of cleaning up for us to do. I propose we begin this immediately so the scum who betrayed not only the Federation, but humanity itself can be eradicated!”
One of the more radical S tiers voiced his opinion out very passionately.
It was clear that he wasn’t in the business of messing around and wasting time, especially in times as volatile as this.
Yes, the biggest threat in the Federation’s history had just been resolved, but there were still some minor and even medium level threats lurking about that they had to deal with.
The effects of the Red Demon’s rampage through the Milky way still lingered and there were countless dead planets and empty star systems thanks to their brutality.
The Federation needed to restore the people’s trust by beginning reparatory processes with the goal of bringing the Federation back to its peak, and even beyond that.
It was evident that after the last year, the situation in the Federation would change drastically compared to how it used to be.
There was always a threat of a Floodgate opening, or an Awakened dying and subsequently spawning a beast from the Primordial Expanse in their wake as a result of this, but nothing had ever threatened them as much as the Red Demons did.
From this point onwards, the resources of the Federation would be much more focused into training and strengthening not only their military, but their citizens as well.
If every citizen had at least the basic training to survive attacks, or the knowledge of what to do in stressful situations or invasions, then things could run much more smoothly than they did in the past year.
The best way of ensuring this was to introduce mandatory military service.
A few years ago, the public would have rioted upon announcement of this news, but after what they had just been through, they understood that the universe was no longer as safe as they thought it to be, and it was necessary to ensure their future survival.
