Chapter 776: Ladies’ Chit-Chat
Meanwhile, Rosie wriggled around in Blossom’s arms, content as a purring kitten, declaring proudly to no one in particular, “Rosie loves her Mommy! Rosie wants Blossom Mommy to carry Rosie all day forever and ever!”
Blossom, voice full of radiant maternal pride, chirped back, “Blossom will carry Rosie until her arms fall off!”
Lucille smiled at the adorable sight before saying, “Quin’s mothers did predict Blossom becoming a good mother… What were their words again?”
“Something about her airhead brain undergoing a drastic shift as soon as she realizes there’s Quin’s baby growing in her womb,” Aurora replied.
“H-he has multiple mothers?!” Poppy yelped, interrupting. She got a “It’s a long story…” sigh from the ladies.
Seraphiel had a thought of her own on the matter. “Rosie certainly didn’t grow in Blossom’s womb, but she became who she is thanks to Quin’s seed transforming her from a Geim to whatever she is now, so maybe he being the biological father was enough to do the trick for Blossom’s brain to activate protective mother mode.”
“… That certainly seems to be the case,” Ayame nodded in agreement.
“I can’t believe those two predicted this so well…” Lucille murmured, feeling greatly outdone by her mothers-in-law.
“They do have a couple of billions of years of experience over you, so don’t beat yourself up over it,” Aurora said, patting the caramel-haired beauty’s back.
“Right…” Lucille nodded before sighing, “How I wish Jasmine could be here with us. Poor girl is missing out on so much.”
“She knew what she was signing up for when she joined the harem of a man like Quin,” Aurora replied.
Lucille shook her head, signaling she didn’t mean it like that. “I don’t think she’s jealous about the extra time we get to spend with Quin compared to her thanks to us being combatants, I meant that due to her situation with that damned Aurelion bastard, she has to play her part in his Gilded Exchange faction. She can’t just come and go whenever we have some free time to spend with her, such as now. I called her, asking if she wanted to join us, but she said that if she left, Aurelion would’ve gotten suspicious.”
“It’s not long until her situation will turn for the better, I feel… After all, our arrogant Vesper Phenom is busy stuffing a Veil Walker’s womb full of his seed. A Veil Walker who is a trusted confidant of Black Fang at that…” Ayame’s ominous voice sounded, accompanied by the dark grin that adorned her delicate lips, letting the ladies know she believed it was soon time to get this issue sorted one way or another, likely with Quin bashing the old scum’s skull in.
An ominous stillness settled over the group, save for Poppy’s confused gaze flying between the members of the conversation, trying to decipher just what the hell they were talking about. In that stillness, silence ruled for a few seconds as many previously delicate gazes darkened with wide, cruel grins emerging on their faces.
It was an event they’d been waiting for a long time to arrive. Aurelion has been trying to poach Quinlan for himself for a long time now, being a great pain in all of their sides, and ever since the ladies learned just what a horrible man he was from Jasmine, his fate has been all but sealed.
“So what do you girls think about our eighth member?” Aurora chirped in a girly tone once her sadistic features disappeared, getting tossed back into the depths of the abyss.
“For the first time, I’m a bit worried about connecting with a harem member… I know she’s a wonderful person, and I don’t doubt her in any shape or form, but…” Lucille murmured with a worried expression. She took her harem head responsibilities seriously, doing her utmost to ensure all the girls were happy and their needs were met.
If they were troubled, she would have a private chat with them, whether that be some feminine worries about Quinlan potentially not liking something about them (which was an entirely needless concern) or needing some advice on how to be even better women for their chosen man.
Some worries also surfaced about their combat capabilities and potential roles in the future of the Elysiar family. Sometimes the girls could get a bit insecure about their innate potential, worried they might not live up to Quinlan’s sky-high expectations of his lovers or be outshone by others, such as powerhouses he had his eyes on — or was currently inside of.
“Vex’s certainly a weirdo, but that’s nothing new, is it? All of you have a myriad of rather concerning traits.” Ayame sighed, rolling her eyes.
The oriental beauty received many wry stares thanks to her statement, but she wasn’t bothered. Instead, she reached for the aromatic tea Beatrice had brewed for her specifically and began sipping with a contented smile. It tasted delicious.
‘Says the masochistic pig…’ multiple of them thought inwardly but didn’t say it out loud, not wanting to have to deal with the drama that would surely ensue.
“I think she’ll be a good friend to us. Even back when she was just our examiner during the Phenom Trials, she never once disrespected us despite the large difference in ranks. Also, who doesn’t want a woman like her in their corner? With her addition, the Ascendants have undergone a major jump in overall power,” Aurora spoke up, giving Vex her full support.
“I-I like Lady Vex. S-she was a good leader during our mission…” Lyra stuttered, voicing her thoughts shyly, feeling out of her element in this conversation. After all, besides the newcomer Poppy and the young miss, all the women here were sleeping with her lord. For some reason, she, a bodyguard, was involved in the picnic instead of just being told to guard them so they could relax in peace.
Truth be told, she wouldn’t have minded accompanying Kaelira and her team to discuss strategy and evaluate their performance in the war. That would’ve been easier on her currently rapidly beating heart.
“Is this the same girl who was screaming while standing on top of Quinlan, tanking thousands of projectiles for him? The same woman as that awesome warrioress from back then? What was it you said? Ah, yes,” Lucille said with a sly smile before shouting, “You’re nothing! NOTHING!” The caramel-haired beauty followed her teasing by bursting into amused chuckles as the girl’s cheeks began taking on her hair’s color.
“I’m with Lyra on this. Vex is one badass chick, she’s found her home with us, I say,” Seraphiel voiced her thoughts. Out of all present, she had the least reservations toward the woman. She believed in Quinlan’s tastes.
“You must be happy, Sera. You’re finally going to seem like a normal woman when she’s standing next to you, no longer the weirdo of the group.”
Ayame’s words didn’t sit well with the elf, who squinted her eyes at the tea-sipping beauty.
“Now, just what’s that supposed to mean, dearest Skysplitter? Have you forgotten who Quinlan added to the harem after me?”

“Just ignore the flat midget. She’s a bundle of hypocrisy and delusions,” Iris said between two munches on her roasted beef thighs before adding, “No wonder she was demoted from being the harem head. Bitch’s rude to even her best friends. I say once Vex joins, she should be promoted to the second-in-command of the Ascendants in the female goblin’s stead.”
“… Hah?”
