Chapter 781: Twins [Bonus]
“The twins?” Vex raised an eyebrow.
“Oh.” It was only now that I realized I still owed my sexy woman a few stories. “Long story short, I kidnapped and enslaved the Greenvale twins. They’re under my control now.”
“…” A completely flabbergasted face welcomed my declaration.
“The twin daughters of Alastair Greenvale? Vivienne and Amara Greenvale?” she muttered with disbelief after a few seconds of dead silence.
“Yep, the very same. They’re wonderful girls, that much I can assure you of. Their parents did a truly exemplary job with their parenting.”
“… Okay, I’ll need some more information here, Quin.”
Instead of replying instantly, I stared into her eyes for a long moment.
Those beautiful, red rubies. I slid both hands along her bare back, slowly tracing the curve of her spine, then gliding up to her shoulder blades. Her skin was warm beneath my palms, soft, feminine, sensual, but laced with strength, just like her. She didn’t flinch under my touch, but she watched me closely, the silence growing heavier by the second between us.
Finally, I spoke.
“Can I trust you?”
The question hit harder than any punch. She flinched. Not physically, but in the way her eyes sharpened, startled. She understood.
Still, she didn’t speak.
So I asked again, this time quieter. “If Black Fang were to betray me… who would you side with? If she asked you to reveal everything I told you, what would you do?”
Her eyes searched mine for a few, torturously long moments. Then, slowly, she reached up, cupped my cheek with both hands, and looked at me tenderly. She leaned in and pressed a kiss to my lips. This time, it was a small one, but laced with need, with certainty. It was more meant to reassure than to excite.
When she pulled back, her eyes were determined.
“I would not oblige her request. When I said she owns me… I meant I felt indebted to her. Enough to offer my life, if it came to that. But I don’t own you, Quinlan. Neither do I own the secrets you confide in me. And I’m not willing to throw what we have away just to make good on my dues. I don’t owe that to Black Fang.”
Her words struck something deep in me.
I smiled—truly smiled—and leaned in for another kiss. Longer this time. Deeper. My hands slid lower, finding the curves of her tantalizing butt and cupping them in both palms. I gripped her firmly, drawing her closer as she melted into me with a soft sigh against my lips. We stayed like that for a while, skin to skin, hearts beating in rhythm.
Then, without a word, I materialized my system window. Reversed, this time around, so she could read it.
Vex pulled back as she gasped, her eyes growing wide. “You… humans certainly can’t do that…”
“Yep,” I said with a casual grin and a playful wink. “Just another one of my primordial bullshit powers.”
Her eyes narrowed into fiery slits as a cute scoff left her lips, which afterward turned into an even more adorable pout. “I’m starting to believe why they call it BS…”
I chuckled amusedly for a second or two before I scrolled through the systemic interface. I tapped with my mind’s eyes on the panel labeled [Primordial Subjugator]. The blue glow that signaled its materialization cast light across both our faces.
“You see, Vex, I’m not just the Primordial Villain. I’m the Primordial Subjugator. That means I’m a slave master on steroids.”
She watched as I flipped to the list of [Subjugated] people.
Two names shone in front of her.
Amara Valessia Arvanelle Greenvale
Vivienne Valessia Arvanelle Greenvale
Vex’s breath caught.
I could feel her pulse against my chest. Her eyes slid to mine, wide with wonder. “You weren’t kidding…”

“There’s a time and place for jokes.”
<Excuse yourself to the restroom,> I instructed, and received a response that was a mixture of impending heart attack and a nervous breakdown. This woman really liked to overplay her reaction every time I unexpectedly spoke in my mind…
I wasn’t that scary, was I?
“[Warp Gate].”
A tear in space shimmered into existence beside the bed, and from it stepped Amara.
She froze the moment she saw us.
Ghostly pale. Eyes wide as saucers. Her dainty high-heeled shoes clicked to a halt on the stone floor as she stood stiff as a board, her gaze fixed on the very, very naked me, with an equally naked woman atop me, resting in my arms with my fingers gripping into her butt cheeks.
“L-Lord Quinlan!” she gasped, instantly spinning around to face the wall with both hands cupped over her eyes. “Forgive me! I didn’t know you were-!”
Her mistake was glancing at the woman while turning away.
It took her brain a few moments to realize what she’d just seen.
“V-V-V-Vex the H-H-Hexblade?!!!!!!!”
She practically shrieked the name.
Of course she knew Vex. Anyone who’d ever walked past a guard station had seen that face on a wanted poster. Her crimes were legendary, her bounty outrageous. She wasn’t just a criminal but a national scandal.
Vex didn’t react. Didn’t even spare the duke’s daughter a glance.
Instead, she let out a sigh and pinched my cheeks like a mother scolding her mischievous child.
“I believed you already, hubby. You’re just showing off now, aren’t you?”
I laughed. “You caught me…”
She arched a brow and flicked her eyes toward the gate. “Why didn’t you bring the other sister?”
“Vivienne’s a deranged lesbian.”
“… I know that. So?” she asked, genuinely confused.
“I can’t have my women ogled by lecherous eyes.”
Vex blinked. Then gave me a slow, disbelieving stare… before bursting into a fit of merry laughter, burying her face in my neck.
I gestured lazily toward the warp gate. “Alright, you’re dismissed.”
But Amara wasn’t listening.
She was currently too busy staring, mouth agape, at the shimmering soul-construct standing silently beside the bed. Eve. Ghostly. Unmoving.
I sighed.
A flick of my fingers conjured a strong burst of chilled water that splashed across her face like a bucket of ice.
She squeaked like a startled cat and stumbled back into the portal with a yelp.
The gate vanished behind her.
How she would explain her drenched dress after excusing herself to the restroom didn’t cross my mind. I’m sure she would find a good excuse.
Silence returned.
But it didn’t last.
Vex’s eyes turned inquisitive again, her joyful gaze slowly transforming into something more thoughtful.
“Hubby…” she whispered slowly, her fingers still tracing idle patterns on my cheeks, “why do I see the names of your lovers among your [Subjugated] people?”
