Chapter 57: Nyx vs Two horn part 2 Chapter 57: Nyx vs Two horn part 2 The system’s urgent notification snapped Noah out of his haze.
[Molten Core detected within Nyx.] [Analysis: This ability channels volcanic energy into supercharged attacks.
Prolonged combat increases the core’s heat and strength, amplifying physical abilities and enabling wound cauterization for accelerated healing.
Warning: Core activation can destabilize the surrounding environment.] Noah groaned, clutching his abdomen as another message flashed: [Healing factor engaged.
Estimated time for recovery: Four hours.] ‘Four hours?!!’ he thought. That wasn’t good enough.
He needed to move now.
He gritted his teeth, forcing himself upright despite the burning pain in his chest and sides.
His breathing was ragged, but the faint glow from Nyx’s crater was growing stronger, and the dragon’s groans were turning into guttural roars.
“Lucas!” Noah’s voice cracked, but he called again, louder, “Lucas, get over here!” The upperclassman skidded to his side in a blur, eyes wide with concern.
“What’s wrong?
Are you-” “No time,” Noah interrupted, coughing.
“Help me up-and take cover.
Whatever Nyx is about to do…
it’s going to be big.
I don’t know how much time we have!” Lucas hesitated, looking toward the crater where the red glow was now spilling out like molten lava, illuminating the battlefield.
The groans coming from within were deep, primal, shaking the air.
Without another word, Lucas hooked his arm around Noah, helping him onto his feet before moving him to a safer distance.
Nyx, still glowing with volcanic fury, began to rise.
His massive frame heaved as his wings unfurled like banners of war.
The two-horned Harbinger, its expression unreadable, watched as the impossible unfolded before it.
[Molten Core escalating.] [Warning: Unstable heat levels detected.] The Harbinger was the first to make a move.
Despite its battered and bloodied state, the creature surged forward with the power of a freight train, its scaled legs pounding the earth beneath it.
Each step it took cracked the ground.
Its one good eye burned with utter fury.
Being an intelligent specie, it had accessed Nyx as a different threat all together and even then refusing to back down from the face of an adversary as fearsome as Nyx.
Nyx stood tall, his red body shimmering with heat and power.
His wings folded against his massive sides, and fumes hissed from his nostrils like steam escaping a volcanic vent.
He didn’t flinch as the Harbinger barreled toward him.
Instead, with a flick of his enormous tail, he lashed out in a blinding motion.
The impact was catastrophic.

The Harbinger was launched into the air like a ball, tumbling uncontrollably as it sailed across the island.
Trees snapped like twigs in its wake, and its landing was marked by a plume of dirt and debris as it rolled to a halt.
Lucas, standing a safe distance away, let out a low whistle.
“What the hell…
How does a year-one student like Noah have a damn dragon?
A dragon!
A creature we thought was nothing more than a myth!
And he’s commanding it like it’s his pet!” Nyx let out a deafening roar that seemed to shake the very heavens, his power undeniable.
Lowering his massive frame, he began to run on all fours, each stride covering incredible distances as he thundered toward the Harbinger.
The Harbinger staggered to its feet just in time to see the charging dragon.
With a speed that belied its size, Nyx lunged, jaws wide open, teeth gleaming like ivory swords.
The Harbinger raised its muscular arms, catching Nyx’s jaws before they could clamp down.
The struggle was evident; the Harbinger’s body quaked under the strain, its muscles bulging as it fought to keep those jaws from snapping shut.
But it had made a fatal mistake.
Nyx’s belly began to glow once more, the molten core within him activating with terrifying intensity.
A low rumble built in his throat, and the Harbinger’s good eye widened in realization.
At the last moment, it threw itself to the side, narrowly avoiding the blast of red energy that erupted from Nyx’s maw.
The ground where the Harbinger had stood moments before was obliterated, a massive hole drilled deep into the ground by the beam.
Red energy sizzled around the edges of the crater, the ground glowing with residual heat.
The Harbinger didn’t wait.
It leaped from its position, the force of its jump sending a shockwave through the ground.
Its hulking frame slammed into Nyx’s side in a devastating shoulder charge.
The dragon was sent skidding across the battlefield, his claws digging into the ground to regain traction.
Before Nyx could fully recover, the Harbinger charged again.
But Nyx wasn’t caught off guard this time.
With a whip of his tail, he struck the Harbinger with bone-crushing force, sending it tumbling backward once more.
Trees snapped and splintered as the Harbinger rolled through them, its massive body carving a path of destruction.
Lucas watched in awe, shaking his head.
‘How in the world…
Noah’s not just some weak, first-year kid like the reports say.
He’s got a literal monster fighting for him.
This is insane,’ Nyx didn’t waste a moment.
He stood tall, his wings unfurling slightly as he roared again.
His tail lashed behind him, his body radiating heat like a living furnace.
The Harbinger, battered and bloodied, struggled to its feet.
Its body was a ruin of scales and muscle, oozing blood from countless wounds.
Yet, it refused to stay down.
Nyx charged once more, claws digging into the earth as he closed the distance in mere seconds.
The Harbinger raised its arms in defense, but Nyx’s jaws clamped down on its shoulder, shaking it violently like a predator with its prey.
The Harbinger howled in pain but managed to free itself, delivering a desperate punch to Nyx’s side.
The dragon stumbled back but quickly recovered, his tail swinging again to strike the Harbinger in the chest.
The creature was sent flying, landing in a heap several meters away.
Again.
Nyx closed the distance, smashing his tail on top of the Harbinger, retaliating with two times the ferocity that the Harbinger dealt earlier on.
It was clear the dragon hadn’t forgiven the two horned alien monster.
After series of pounding, Nyx let off, thinking the Harbinger was done.
The Harbinger however with its one good eye focused on Nyx, filled with hatred and defiance.
It tried to rise, but its body betrayed it, trembling under its own weight.
Still, it pushed itself up, refusing to fall for good.
Nyx watched, his glowing eyes narrowing.
Then, with a slow, deliberate motion, he rose onto his hind legs, towering over the island.
He lifted his massive head to the sky and let out a roar so powerful it seemed to shake the entire island.
“Rarrrrrghhhhh!!!!” Lucas covered his ears, grimacing.
“What now…?” As if in answer, Nyx began to charge up an attack unlike anything he’d done before.
This time, the glow didn’t originate from his belly but from the base of his mouth.
A volatile, round orb of energy began to form, crackling and pulsing with raw power.
It grew larger and larger until it was the size of a car, its surface swirling with destructive potential.
The Harbinger, still struggling to stand, looked up at the looming dragon.
Its one good eye widened in realization of what was about to happen.
Nyx unleashed the attack.
The Magma Bomb shot forth with devastating speed, colliding with the Harbinger and exploding in a blinding eruption of power.
BOOM!
The force of the blast rocked the whole island, a shockwave tearing through the landscape and flattening everything within its radius.
Nyx leaped into the air, his wings carrying him high above the devastation as the ground below was consumed by fire, smoke, and molten energy.
Lucas watched from a distance, his mouth hanging open in disbelief.
“How…
How does someone like Noah control something like that?
And what hell of monster is that?!” As the smoke began to clear, Nyx hovered above, his wings outstretched and his eyes scanning the battlefield.
The Harbinger lay motionless in the center of the destruction, its body charred and broken.
Yet even now, there was a faint twitch, a sign that it was still clinging to life.
Nyx roared once more, his dominance undeniable.
This battle wasn’t over yet-but the dragon was far from finished.
The Harbinger’s body twitched violently, spasms racking its hulking frame.
Its scorched, bloodied muscles jerked uncontrollably, clinging to the last threads of life.
The one good eye, dulled with defeat, remained open, staring blankly at the ground.
Then, with a final shudder, it stopped moving altogether.
Its head slumped into the dirt, the aura of defiance it carried extinguished for good.
Lucas stood frozen, watching the scene in sheer awe.
He blinked several times, unable to process what he had just witnessed.
A two-horned Harbinger-one of the most dangerous creatures in existence-defeated and discarded like trash.
The sheer raw aura emanating from Nyx made Lucas’s stomach churn.
It was powerful, oppressive, and deeply unsettling.
It felt primal, like the aura of a beast born to destroy.
But there was something else about it.
Something different.
He shivered, his fists clenching at his sides.
The thought crept into his mind unbidden: ‘What if Nyx turned on me next?’ Lucas glanced nervously at the dragon, still glowing faintly from its molten core, its wings folding as it perched above the Harbinger’s lifeless body.
He swallowed hard.
‘ I’m the number one student here.
I’ve fought monsters no one else dared to face.
But against that… against Nyx?’ He shuddered, taking an unconscious step back.
‘I’d hate to fuck around and find out,’ Nyx, oblivious to Lucas’s thoughts, crouched low and rummaged his massive jaws around the Harbinger’s corpse.
For a few moments, Lucas thought the dragon might be feeding, confirming its kill like a true predator.
The mere thought of it sent a chill up his spine.
The great dragon suddenly flew up, its wings creating powerful gusts that nearly knocked Lucas off balance as it flew by.
He watched as Nyx circled the battlefield once before descending in a controlled dive, landing with a heavy thud close to Noah.
Lucas squinted, his confusion growing as he saw Nyx drop something near Noah’s prone figure.
A green core rolled out of the dragon’s mouth and stopped a few inches from Noah’s side.
Lucas’s amazement deepened.
‘A core?
Did Nyx just… harvest it for him?’ Noah lay on the ground, his eyes shut tight in visible pain.
The heat in the air intensified, and as the shadow of Nyx fell over him, Noah’s eyelids fluttered open.
He blinked once, taking in the sight of the dragon sitting before him, its wings folded neatly against its sides.
Nyx stared down at him, massive and intimidating, yet somehow calm.
Noah, groaning from the effort, stretched his hand upward.
The dragon’s snout dipped down, closing the distance between them until its scaled nose brushed against Noah’s palm.
“Good boy,” Noah muttered, his voice weak but filled with genuine affection.
Nyx let out a low growl in response, almost like a purr, his molten body radiating a comforting heat as his eyes softened.
Lucas, who had kept his distance the entire time, felt a mix of wonder and anxiety twist in his chest.
He was the top-ranked student, the strongest of them all, yet here he stood, watching a boy he had once considered weak and insignificant bond with a literal dragon.
A dragon!
His gaze shifted from Nyx’s massive frame to Noah’s hand resting gently on the dragon’s snout.
Just how strong has he gotten?
And how in the world did he tame something like that?
The size of Nyx alone was enough to make Lucas question everything.
The beast was colossal, exuding strength and dominance in every motion, yet it obeyed Noah’s every command.
As Lucas stood there, watching the incredible bond between man and dragon, he couldn’t help but feel a small pang of jealousy.
But it was quickly drowned out by his lingering anxiety.
Because, for all his strength and skill, Lucas knew one thing for certain: Nyx was a force of nature, and he didn’t want to be on the wrong side of it.
