Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 386
Chapter 386: Double Cardinal Sin
In the aftermath of Chiron’s cataclysmic release of power, the once vibrant night sky was eclipsed by a column of radiant, rainbow-hued light, straight out of his body.
Such was the intensity of this beacon that the stars paled and the moon seemed dim, a stark testament to the magnitude of energy unleashed.
As the dust settled, a battered and charred figure lay amidst the ruins of the temple, the air thick with the acrid scent of scorched flesh.
Chiron, though grievously injured, betrayed signs of life through the faint twitching of his fingers, a silent declaration of his survival against the divine onslaught.
Struggling to rise yet collapsing under the weight of his own injuries, Chiron’s resilience was a grim reminder of the price paid for power.
The silence that followed, however, was abruptly shattered by the priestess’s movement.
Despite her own grave injuries, she forced herself to stand, a painful effort that spoke volumes of her determination.
Her gaze, drawn to the sky, widened in horror at the realization that dawned upon her. The eternal aurora that had once crowned the mountain was no more, its absence a stark void in the night sky.
“It is all gone,” she whispered, a statement heavy with the weight of loss.
The realization that the Aura energy, the lifeblood of the Highlands, was dissipating filled her with dread.
This energy had not only been a source of beauty but the very foundation of life in the region.
The core beasts, the flora, and even the minerals that had thrived in this land were all sustained by the Aura. With its disappearance, the ecosystem of the Highlands was doomed.
IN the Almace Continent, this was the only place that allowed Aura creatures to thrive. It was the core of their world, and now, it was all gone.
Turning to Chiron with a mix of anguish and accusation, she cried out, “NO!!! The Highlands are finished. All the Aura is gone. It is all gone.” Her voice, laden with pain, underscored the gravity of the catastrophe unleashed by Chiron’s ascension.
“Just to advance to the Bronze rank, you destroyed our entire ecosystem!?” Her words were a piercing rebuke, a lament for the paradise lost due to one man’s insatiable quest for power.
Rising from the ground, Chiron presented a visage of devastation.
His skin, a grotesque tapestry of burns and wounds, adhered to the earth, revealing the muscle and sinew beneath. Half of his face was a charred ruin, yet his eyes met the priestess’s gaze unflinchingly.
With a smile that was as horrific as it was triumphant, he spoke, embodying the very essence of villainy. “For my power, even the world can lose life.”
His smile gave way to laughter. but then his brazen laughter was stopped as a result of his coughing up of more blood.
At this moment, a loud war cry was heard as Prince Victor screamed to the sky, sending forth the spiritual formation of a double headed lion.
*ROAR!*
The lion roared in the air as it rushed over to swallow up Chiron. However, Chiron, dough weak, waved his hands and his sword appeared.
Devil’s touch, like molten liquid, rushed forth under chiron’s command.
the sword snaked around his body to form a large blade that struck the head of the first lion beast vigorously.
Chiron waved his hand and fired a big ball of fire on the second one.
*BOOM!*
As the explosion dissipated, Prince Victor Jumped on Chiron with a sword in hand.
Chiron turned to the side to dodge it as he used Devil’s touch to Parry the attack.
*CLANK!*
He defended against the attack.

Prince Victor gritted his teeth harshly, “You Scum from My sister’s legs. You dare steal my trophy of the highlands? Even though you are now in the Bronze ranks, You are only merely at the first rank.”
On saying this, he released his oppressive might and spiritual pressure of one in the third Bronze rank of the Middle Realms.
This blasted forth unto Chiron’s body, forcing Chiron to fall to his knees.
However, This act its self vexed Chiron to incredible levels.
And gritting his teeth harshly, he slowly rose to his feet one Knee at a time.
It was really slow, but Chiron was actually pushing him.
At the same time, more blood fell from the side of Chiron’s lips. this was the same thing for his nose.
However, Chiron had just received pressure from gods. This was nothing compared to that divine might.
Then again, his body had received too much wounds. At the moment, his hands felt numb, and he could practically not even feel the touch of his sword in his palms.
But with his brows Creased, he did not give up.
It was only at this point that Prince Victor remembered something very fundamental about breaking through into the middle realms.
After all, these realms were known as the realms of the seven sins of man. The middle realms signified that one was about to drop their mortality and it was the responsibility of their primal nature to pull them back.
It was common knowledge that the seven sins of man were all very dangerous.
Some of them even forming a part of the individual’s personality permanently.
Nevertheless the Sins usually raised their heads the moment one entered the Bronze rank.
It was like the way chiron’s uncle, and former chief of his Clan, Dona Chivalry, had entered the Bronze rank and hunger like never before seen assaulted him because of his Gluttony.
Although one’s cardinal Sin was a way of nature trying to pull one back, and therefore, a kind of curse, it still gave its wilders certain advantages depending on the temperament of the individual. Some times advantage in their abilities, power boost or just enhance a certain part of their bodies.
For Prince Victor, it was the fact that women found him to be very dashing and handsome, which in turn made it easy for him to give in to his Sin of Lust.
For the Dagger father, it was greed. And It made him a very formidable and tactical leader.
However, Chiron had two Dantains, and both of them had helped him rise in power. This essentially meant that he had two Sins to deal with.
At this moment, the question of what Chiron’s Sins were hit Prince Victor in the air.
Seeing Chiron slowly rise from the ground, he suddenly had an idea of what one of those sins was.
Chiron spoke up, “How dare YOU!” Those words seem to carry a rebellion against heaven itself.
Slowly, Chiron rose, until both feet rose, pushing prince Victor back.
“PRIDE!” Prince Victor mutted lowly.
But careful observation, and he could see that it was not just pride.
After all, for reasons he could not understand, his body was getting weaker and this was the true reason that he could not Keep Chiron on the ground.
“Gluttony!?” he muttered Lowly. But Chiron shook his head, “No, you fool. It is GREED!” He raised a leg and kicked Prince victor in the chest as he backed off a bit, laughing as he did.
As Chiron’s laughter, a sound as wild and untamed as his ambition, echoed through the devastated landscape of the Highlands, he summoned the Scabbard of his Broad sword with a mere gesture.
This was no ordinary scabbard; imbued with the power to heal its wielder, it was a testament to the divine intervention and dark blessings that Chiron had accrued on his path to power.
The broad sword itself, consecrated with the blood of a dragon, held a resonance of might and majesty, further amplified by its sheath’s restorative capabilities. This was his ancestor’s Scabbard.
The moment Chiron’s hand made contact with the scabbard, a surge of visible light, as palpable as the energy that had wrought such destruction, cascaded over him.
This luminous tide flowed into his wounds, knitting flesh and erasing the marred vestiges of his recent battle. Every laceration, every burn, was meticulously healed, leaving no trace of the ordeal he had endured.
Before the eyes of those who bore witness, Chiron was reborn from the ashes of his own recklessness, his body restored to pristine condition.
Now standing in the aftermath, Chiron was a figure of daunting presence. The wind caressed his short, dark hair, a silent testament to the forces at his command.
His gaze, when it fell upon Prince Victor and the Priestess, was laden with a chilling aloofness. To him, they were but mere ants, insignificant obstacles on his path to unfathomable power.
This look, devoid of empathy or regard, underscored the vast gulf that now lay between Chiron and those who had once been his peers….
