Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 407
Chapter 407: The Chase
The scene unfolded with brutal swiftness as the first assailant, a blur of deadly intent, closed the distance to the royal guard.
The clash of metal echoed, a harrowing melody, as the guard’s sword found its mark.
Yet, the expected outcome unraveled into horror; the attacker, far from showing any signs of pain, ensnared the sword and, with a ghastly smile, drew it deeper into himself.
The royal guard, caught in the throes of battle, searched the attacker’s face for any sign of human agony, only to be met with a grin that spoke of the inhuman.
This grim revelation was only the beginning of the nightmare. The attacker, with a strength that mocked the limits of flesh and bone, pulled the guard into a crushing embrace. No matter how fiercely the guard fought, his efforts were in vain against the iron grip of his foe. Then, as if to seal their grim fate, more shadows converged, their bodies a living cage, ensuring the guard’s immobilization.
Meanwhile, Princess Nora faced her own dire straits. With desperation fueling her actions, she summoned her spiritual energy, reaching for her sword in a futile attempt to defend herself.
But the echo of an old wound—a cruel gift from her treacherous uncle who stole her S-grade Dantain—throbbed with renewed venom, betraying her resolve.
Her attackers, seizing the moment of her vulnerability, subdued her with ease. A swift, stunning blow to the back of head was all it took to dim the light of consciousness.
In a chilling display of coordination, the attackers divided, each taking a piece of the princess’s garments and scattering in different directions. Another cloaked her in darkness, whisking her away into the night. The air was thick with the dread of their intention: a kidnapping most foul.
It was within this maelstrom of chaos that Chief Ban arrived, his spirit totem, a gorilla of immense power, shimmering around him like a guardian specter.
But the sight that greeted him was one of disarray, the perpetrators disappearing into the night, each a shadow amongst shadows.
Cursing the cunning of the kidnappers, Ban faced a tormenting decision. With the assailants split into eight different paths, he was ensnared in a cruel maze of choices, each path a gamble, each decision a weight upon his soul. The kidnappers had played their hand well, fracturing the pursuit with their divided escape.
In this moment of crisis, Chief Ban stood, against the encroaching despair, his resolve wavering in the enveloping darkness.
The path ahead was fraught with uncertainty, but the determination to rescue Princess Nora burned fiercely within him, igniting a resolve that no shadow could smother.
He sought to follow a particular direction.
Coincidentally, others also swiftly arrived.
Amongst them was Chief Wallow and a few of his guards.
Even Elder Baldie had rushed over and guards from different parts of the capital city.
“Someone save that guard!” Chief Ban pointed at the immobilised guard, “while the others spilt up and follow. They have the princess.” Those words spaked a sense of emergency in everyone as they rushed in different directions.
The cunning of the attackers, their strategy unfolding like a dark tapestry, exceeded even the worst fears of Chief Ban and the assembled rescuers.
Their meticulous planning, now horrifyingly apparent, had anticipated and outmaneuvered the swift reactions of Kendou’s defenders.
Chief Ban, upon witnessing the unexpected turn of the chase, unleashed a torrent of curses as the kidnapper he pursued summoned a monstrous creature from the skies.
The sight of the giant horned eagle, a majestic yet terrifying beast of burden, underscored the severity of their plight.
With a leap that defied the limits of human agility, the kidnapper and his captive vanished into the night sky, leaving Chief Ban grappling with the realization of their aerial escape.
Without hesitation, Chief Ban activated the totem at his wrist, an artifact capable of long-distance communication, a beacon in the dark. “They are going airborne. Seal the airspace of Kendou,” he commanded, his voice a thunderclap of authority resonating through the network of totems.
The urgency of the situation was clear; the skies above Kendou, once a domain of freedom, had become battlegrounds of desperation.
As if responding to an unspoken signal, additional horned eagles, each bearing a sack that held a fragment of hope for the kidnappers’ vile plan, ascended into the night. Eight beasts, eight directions—a sprawling web of escape that spread across the dark canvas of the sky.
Chief Wallow, upon receiving Ban’s grim news, wasted no time. His totems, artifacts of power that allowed him and his elite guards to challenge the very heavens, roared to life.
In moments, they were airborne, their forms slicing through the night as they took to the chase. The skies of Kendou, serene no longer, became a theater of war, where the fates of a princess and kingdoms were contested on the wings of beasts and the valor of warriors.
The task was Herculean; to track and intercept eight eagles across the vast expanses of air posed a challenge.

However, unlike Chief Ban thought, the invisible shields made of spiritual energy that normally acted as a shield to protect the kingdom at such a time suddenly did not play their role.
The eagles tore past the shields and roared far into the sky.
“FUCK!” Band cursed again. “We have traitors in the kingdom.” He bellowed loudly.
This was the only junction he could arrive at. After all, he was a Chief and had given a particular order but the shields had not stopped the kidnappers.
However, when Chief Wallow and his men reached the shields, it stopped them from leaving the city.
Chief Ban feared for the worse. Their city had truly been compromised.
What he did not know was that these beast men that had invaded had prepared for a very very long time for this moment and prepared incredibly well.
However, at this moment, a Tesseract sped through the air, passing through the shields chasing after the kidnappers.
Chief Ban recognized this Tesseract. It was the one that commander Hardstone commanded.
Being a royal guard, he had the privilege of leaving through the shields during g a time of emergency….
