Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 436
Chapter 436: Momo’s Truth
SLASH!
The Totem of a blade appeared, dividing his head, from his upper jaw all the way to the back of his neck.
That was it. That was how he died. Klein, the leader of The Wolf gang was no more.
His corpse fell on the ground. he was over.
Wolfmen had a scary sixth sense. Immediately Klein died, all the Wolf men that had gone to stop the fire turned about. Their ears standing erect as if to pick up the silent, nearly inaudible sound of their leader’s corpse touching the ground.
Immediately they turned about rushing for the camp.
Meanwhile, Dylan turned to Mich, the little hyena boy was hiding at a corner. the things that just happened had scared him silly and now, his breathing was haphazard. One look at him, and Dylan could tell that the boy was about to enter another flared up state were his spiritual energy would go haywire.
he had to do something about it.
Dylan immediately rushed over, “don’t worry, Mich, it will be alright.” he spoke softly, pulling the boy over into an embrace.
At first, Mich was skeptical, but even he could tell that Dylan was on his side. Slowly, his fingers dug into dylan’s clothes as tears fell steadily down his cheeks.
Dylan patted his back again and again, giving comforting words. “Don’t worry, its going to be alright. It is all going to be alright.”
Just then, different were men rushed into the room. Dylan frowned. “Mich, I am going to take you out of here. Just bare a bit with me, okay?” Slowly, he peeled away from the boy, giving a comforting smile as he stood to his feet and faced the visitors that had just arrived.
One look at them and Dylan could see the fear in their eyes.
This for him was a good thing.
This local gang was even worse than the bandit group he had fought in the cave.
Also, their loss of a leader at his hands had put a certain level of fear in them.
Dylan did not wait for them to attack. He capitalized on the fear of his opponents and he instantly attacked.
The totem of sword shone as he waved it left and right, striking the first wolf man in his path. once more, another head went up into the air.
As if fell, so did blood splash on the others.
With that being the start of the battle, the others attacked. Each attack was practically wilder than the last, but Dylan saw through it.
In a weird way that the Wolf men could not understand, he was overwhelming.
Every strike was the prelude to another one. it was the fruit of every warfare training he had gotten from captain Timi back at the Chanland Kingdom when Chiron was away in the north.
In a few minutes, the last neck fell from its shoulders, adding to the already messy ground. Of course, the cowards fearing for their lives turned and ran.
Dylan remained standing, in the midst of blood and corpses.
The Wolf-gang was over. Those that could get away would probably never forget this day. Or probably even change their ways.
Dylan carried the boy in an embrace and took him home.
Momo on the other hand, had not been able to sleep. She had paraded the compound up and down, waiting for their arrival. She had seen one or two people that she was sure were once part of the wolf gang run back into the town in fear and even the forest fire far off in the distance. this had scarred her and she wanted to dive into the forest, but she held back.
In her heart, she felt it. She felt guilty. What she had done, she felt guilty. The thing was that she never really told Dylan the entire truth about Bolu the Hyena man, and now, she felt really guilty.
Deep inside her heart, she felt like she should die, but the thought of the children at the orphanage prevented her from doing something crazy.
It was already deep in the night and she had put the kids to sleep, but she herself could not sleep.

Just when her mind was at the edge and she had made up her mind to rush into the forest area and get Dylan herself, she suddenly saw him.
A figure dark and slim, his thin shadow elongating against the backdrop of the moon’s light. With a sleeping child in hand, he walked forth.
On seeing his slow steps approach, she could no longer hold back and instantly, she ran to him. Tears fell down her eyes as she did.
“Don’t worry, he is alright. He is only asleep!” Dylan spoke up. However, before he could say any more, she leaned into him and kissed him.
This Kiss, it was the first dylan had ever gotten in his life, and for a second, time seemed to pause as the moon light bathed their engagement.
Slowly, she stepped away from him. She too had just realized what she had done, and her cheeks were red with embracement, and so was his.
For a few seconds, there was an awkward silence between them.
And then dylan suddenly spoke up, “I’ll put him to bed.” He walked past her and into the Orphanage.
A while later, he walked out, “hey Momo, I think the kids have finished the water in the basins again, they was nothing for me to use and wash up.”
Just then, he looked ahead and then he saw her, tears fell from her eyes, but more than that, what truly caught his attention was the blade that she had to her own throat.
Her fingers shook steadily, as if in anticipation of her suicide, but they were just too weak to do the deed.
Immediately, he rushed over, grabbing her hand. “what are you doing?” he asked.
She turned to him, tears still flowing from her eyes. “Its my fault Dylan. Its all my fault. Its my fault Bolu turned out the way he did. Its my fault penelope died, and its my fault we are suffering like this. Its all my fault. I don’t deserve to leave. I don’t deserve to fall in love again. You don’t deserve me.”
Those were very strong words. Dylan did not know what to do. he had never had to deal with a mental break down of a woman before and was at a loss for words.
Gritting his teeth harshly, he pulled her into an embrace. “Does that mean that you want to leave me too. Even though… Even though I love you too.”
Those words made her freeze. She could not believe her ears. Of course the possibility was there, but she did not think herself worthy of love and thus never thought that all those times she had been stealing sneaky glances at him, he had been doing the same thing back.
“Yes, I love you Momo. I have done so for a very long time. I have wanted to tell you, but… but… I didn’t think I was deserving of it. After all, I am a human, and I am an enemy of the beast kingdom. What right do I have to love you. But fate played a trick on my heart and now, all I want to do is live and die for you.”
Those words made her shake in his embrace, and more tears fell down her eyes.
“So tell me. Give me your burden, and as one that loves you, I will take it all.”
She pulled away from him, looking away, but he pulled her by the chin, looking into her eyes. His gaze was so fixed on hers that he could see the full twin moons in the sky. They added a different kind of beauty to the shine that she already had.
Slowly, she nodded as she narrated what had happened.
Momo had been right. She was the reason for it all.
The truth was that all those many years ago, from the day Bolu had stepped forward to save her when they were little, she had fallen in love with him.
For a long time, she had wanted to tell him, express her feelings and stand at his side not as a friend, but as a lover.
However, he just never saw her in that manner, and as such, she was never bold enough to just speak her truth.
And then one day, he came back from the war front with Penelope.
The sight of Penelope’s swollen stomach broke her heart. She had wanted Bolu for herself, but he had been stolen away, his fingers, taken from in between hers.
She hated cried for days, but the pain was too much and the cut too deep.
She was a rabbit person, and they were usually very timid, but for the first time in her life, she wanted to fight for something.
And so, after Penelope put to bed, she leaked the news of Penelope being a soldier that had ran from the war front….
