Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 443
Chapter 443: A Dragon’s Pride
Chiron was done with his pillaging, a grim satisfaction settling over him. It was time to return. He signaled to the Red-Blood Fire Dragon, and with a powerful flap of its immense wings, the dragon lifted into the sky.
It was at this time that it happened.
>>Host, Please Defend Against Fate’s Knight<<
On hearing this, Chiron’s satisfying smile froze in shock. Fate always had a habit of catching him off guard when he was relaxed or having fun.
Of course he knew that it was coming, but where was it coming from? Besides, the fate change system had said that it was ‘fate’s knight.’
As far as Chiron could remember, it was only the Holy Church that have ever been referred to as fate’s knights. However, he remembered that he had removed his scent and self from the eyes of the Seer. And if he had removed himself from her eyes, then he had also removed himself from the sight of the demon Mother too.
As far as he was concerned, he still had time. In fact, he still had a lot of time before fate could spring up on him.
But if that was true, then how and why was he getting the alert?
And then it happened.
Suddenly, from the side, an unexpected attack came. An energy blast of ice, shimmering and deadly, hurtled toward them with blinding speed. The attack was so sudden that even the dragon, with all its power and agility, couldn’t react in time.
!BOOM*
The ice blast struck the dragon squarely. The impact was immediate and catastrophic. Frost spread rapidly over its scales, the intense cold clashing violently with the dragon’s fiery nature. The dragon let out a deafening roar of pain and surprise, its massive body convulsing in mid-air. Chiron, momentarily stunned, but his hand immediately moved.
The Red Blood-Fire dragon PUMMELED to the ground smashing into homes of Beast men that fled in all directions.
As Chiron’s dragon struggled to rise from the ground, its fiery scales crackling against the encroaching ice, the source of the attack revealed itself.
Not far away, another dragon emerged from the shadows. This dragon was strikingly different from Chiron’s Red-Blood Fire Dragon.
This newcomer was a creature of elegance and lethal beauty, its body sleek and streamlined, designed to glide effortlessly through both air and water. Its scales shimmered in a light blue hue, almost ethereal, catching the light in a mesmerizing display. The dragon’s size was awe-inspiring, easily twice that of Chiron’s mount, exuding an aura of power and ancient majesty. It even wore bronze armour as if to cover its nakedness.
At the center of its chest pulsed a core of deep, intense red, far richer and darker than the red of Chiron’s dragon.
This core, the heart of its power, radiated a chilling energy that caused frost to form on the ground around it. The air grew colder with each breath the dragon took, thin wisps of ice mist curling and spreading from its body, creating an ever-present aura of frozen menace.
The dragon’s eyes were cold and piercing, glowing with a deep blue intensity that seemed to see through everything. It surveyed the struggling dragon with a mixture of disdain and amusement. Its voice, when it spoke, was a rumbling growl that resonated through the air, dripping with contempt.
“So, it’s true. A mere human trash rides on the back of a Royal Dragon,” the ice dragon sneered, its voice carrying a biting coldness that matched its icy breath. It spat to the side in disgust, the saliva freezing into shards before it hit the ground.
The ice dragon’s body naturally oozed an icy mist, its scales seemingly secreting frost that drifted down like snowflakes. Every movement it made was fluid and deliberate, exuding a confidence born of superiority and centuries of dominance. Its wings, though larger and more delicate in appearance than those of Chiron’s dragon, were edged with sharp, icicle-like spikes, adding to its formidable presence.
The ice dragon’s disdain was obvious. “To think that a creature of such nobility and power would lower itself to carry a pitiful human,” it growled, the very air freezing around its words.
As it hovered, the ground beneath it began to frost over, the temperature dropping noticeably.
Just then, the frozen ice sculpture that was Chiron began to thaw. Flames erupted from his body, melting away the icy prison that had encased him.
As the ice melted, it revealed Chiron’s furious expression and his eyes, now glowing with a fierce, red fire.
Being the Blood Master of the Red-Blood Dragon, Chiron had inherited its abilities. He could command both blood and fire as he wished.
The Ice Dragon, still hovering in the sky, frowned upon seeing Chiron emerge relatively unscathed. That attack should have killed him. However, as it looked closer, the dragon noticed the grim details of Chiron’s survival.
At the moment of impact, Chiron had reacted with ruthless efficiency. First, he had pulled Carla, his demon slave, in front of him as a sacrificial shield.
Her body had taken the brunt of the icy blast, her form now lying shattered and almost lifeless on the ground below. Demons were a tenacious kind, else she would have died. But one look at her wriggling figure and it was obvious that she was not long for the after life.
Second, he had thrown his sister, Nora, off the dragon’s back, ensuring she was out of harm’s way.

Despite these measures, Chiron had not escaped unscathed. His left hand was terribly scarred from the ice, the burns extending all the way up to his chest. The skin was a horrifying mixture of red and white, blistered and raw from the intense cold. Pain radiated from the wound, but Chiron’s expression was one of unrelenting determination and rage.
The Ice Dragon’s eyes narrowed as it realized the lengths Chiron had gone to protect himself. “So, the human trash does possess some survival instincts,” it sneered, though its voice now carried a note of grudging respect. “But you will find that ice can quench even the fiercest of flames.”
Chiron was very surprised at the sight of the Dragon before him. Up until now, he had been the only one to have ever had a dragon on the entire continent. In fact, they were many that thought that Dragons had gone extinct. After all, the last time any of them was seen was at least a thousand years ago.
Also, this continent was just too remote, secluded from the main world, and lastly, this was the territory of the Zodiac families.
At the same time, Chiron reached a quick realization that he had been greatly mistaken about one thing.
Fate does not need the holy church to act. It could use anyone.
However, a lot of things did not make sense. For example, How and why where Dragons here.
After all, these were not normal core beasts. These were Apex predators. Meaning that they were at the peak of the food chain. Even humans had no choice but to respect the superiority of such an ancient noble race.
And now, one had targeted him. The worse part was that he could see from how deep red the core of the dragon was that he was not the creature’s match.
Red core was equivalent to Bronze, but even it had its stages.
Also, this dragon could talk. according to common knowledge, a core Beast was only capable of speech after it had reached the Violet core, and then wisdom of man at the Black Core.
Then again, was there any common sense when it came to the lords of the heavens?
Chiron thought of running, after all, he was not this creature’s march. Then again, if he did, where would he go? This Dragon looked at him like an eagle eying its dinner.
Chiron knew he was not its march, but having the face of a coward in this situation would not spare his fate.
He had to maintain his Attitude of dominance.
Meanwhile, his mind made swift calculations. He was far behind in power, but that did not mean that he could not turn things to his own advantage.
Chiron, now standing on the ground, looked up at the Ice Dragon with a smirk of defiance. “You think a little ‘morning breeze’ can stop me?” he spat, his voice dripping with contempt.
“Morning Breeze!?” The eyebrow of the dragon twitched in annoyance at the insult. It was a mighty being and a mere human had the guts to look in its face and even throw back an insult. “You will pay for your insolence, ANT!”
The Dragon’s chest buffed up as it attempted to attack again.
At the same time, Chiron raised his uninjured hand, flames dancing along his fingers, and pointed it at the Ice Dragon. “I’ll show you what it means to cross a Dragon Master.”
The air around Chiron shimmered with heat, the flames growing more intense as he summoned his power.
Chiron had incredible Spiritual energy. It was a well so deep, that it was practically has deep as that of a Dragon’s. Then again, that was the blessing that the Blood Dragon had given his ancestor.
Chiron raised his hand as a bulk of his spiritual energy was forced into the attack.
