Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 504
Chapter 504: What Is She? 2
Just as soon as Nora was sent back, still within the ethereal world, the Bear Mother turned about, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and desperation. “I have done as you asked. I even used my divinity, please, will you let me go now?”
Suddenly, the flowers from the Sakura tree paused in midair, then rushed together, fusing to form the outline of a woman’s face. The voice that emerged sounded as if the thousands of flowers were speaking in unison. “You did well, Bear Mother. Even a lesser god trash like you can be so useful. I am indeed impressed. For a second, I even believed you loved the little mortal.”
The Bear Mother looked at the floral figure, her eyes filled with both fear and hatred. “What did I do wrong for you to use me like this?”
“It’s not you. It’s just the opportunity that presented itself. If not you, I could have used any other one. The mortal is an anomaly. And we can only use an anomaly to deal with another anomaly. After all, she should have been dead a long time ago. Of course, there is also the fact that she is a… Cauldron, so precious, even I wish to taste her.”
The Bear Mother’s voice wavered as she spoke up again. “Will you let me go now? I even went against the rules of the Holy Dao to do your bidding. And now, my divine energy of time has lost its fervor.”
“Of course, I do not mind letting you go. But you see… you know too much, and we can’t have the others finding out, right?” The flower image smiled wickedly. “If I remember correctly, you offended the Holy Dao, enjoy its judgment.”
As she spoke, the golden time rune in the Bear Mother’s eyes flew out, seemingly called upon by the Sakura flowers. The Bear Mother screamed, “No! Don’t take it. Without it… I am—” Her words were cut off as a storm of dark, malevolent clouds rushed up her body. A million ethereal black hands climbed her form like ants, and then, when they disappeared, all that was left was a statue.
The Sakura flower image gave a smirk and then blew away in the wind. As it did, the stature turned to dust.
Nora, back in her mortal realm, remained unaware of the cosmic machinations and betrayals occurring beyond human comprehension.
Nora pushed through the searing flames, the pain although subtle still tore through her like a storm of needles. Her skin blistered and charred, but an overwhelming force drove her forward.
She staggered through the coal and burning bodies, their charred skeletons forming a grotesque maze. Every step felt like a battle against an inferno that wanted to consume her entirely.
As she crawled out of the furnace, the butchers, busy with their grim tasks, stopped in their tracks. They stared in shock and horror, their faces pale under their masks. Nora emerged from the flames, her body a prove to survival against impossible odds.
The sight of her sent a wave of panic through the room. Butchers dropped their tools, stumbling over one another as they fled the building in a frenzy.
The entire place erupted into chaos. The fearful cries of the fleeing butchers mixed with the awed whispers of those left behind.
The Slaves that were chained and awaiting their grim fate, fell to their knees. They looked up at Nora with wide eyes, their expressions a mix of fear and reverence.
To them, she was a miracle, an image walking out of the flames unscathed, a symbol of hope amidst their despair. “god child!” called out. “A God child!” Soon, many others joined the chanting.
The men of the Holy Church, gathered around Nora.
Their eyes were filled with skepticism and fear. They dared not touch her, hesitating as they beheld the golden rune hovering above her head, glowing like a celestial clock. Its rhythmic chimes echoed through the land, each one filling the air with an otherworldly resonance.
As the rune continued to chime, Nora stood there, swaying slightly. Her strength was waning, and the pain, though now numb, began to throb a little under the weight of her exhaustion.
The men of the Holy Church exchanged anxious glances. The aura around Nora was undeniable, and the presence of the giant golden rune only added to their uncertainty. No one dared to approach her, the divine symbol holding them at bay. They could only watch as the rune’s chimes grew softer, fading away like a distant echo.
Finally, the rune vanished, leaving only a faint glimmer in the air where it had been. The divine energy that had kept Nora on her feet dissipated, and with a final, exhausted breath, she collapsed to the ground. The place fell silent, the air heavy with the weight of what they had just witnessed.
Nora lay there, unconscious but alive, her body a canvas of black charcoal. Around her, the survivors and the men of the Holy Church stood in stunned silence, the image of her emergence from the flames seared into their minds
The woman with a scar on her face standing on the Building not so far away saw this, as well as Iris of the Temperance family.
“Kill her!” She immediately ordered. However, no one wanted to move.
All in fear. After all, this was all just a miracle.
The woman waved her hands, a thousand needles forming in thin air as she waved them. They rushed for Nora on the ground.
However, a voice was heard as figure rushed over, “WAIT!!!”
But the Woman with a scar on her face would not have this. No! she could not. After all, if news that a Pagan god’s godchild was here, the turmoil it would bring to her family would be huge.
And so, her needles did not stop. But just when it would destroy both young master Eunid that had stepped forward and Nora behind him, Old fang waved his hands, his fingers producing claws as long as three feet in length.
