Chapter 522: Therapy For Cultivators 2
Meanwhile, Nora faced the puppets as they staggard her way. This was the third wave.
The first had been one puppet. The second had been two puppets and the third, puppets that could use spiritual energy.
In her life, she had never seen creatures such as these. As far as she was concerned, only Core beasts and human beings were capable of using spiritual energy.
Then again, she did come from a remote part of the world.
Nevertheless, she had no choice but to face them. her eyes burned with incredible zeal.
She had not been in a real fight for so long she had almost forgotten that she was capable of it.
And in truth, this felt good. Every swing of her sword brought back old memories. She been locked up in the castle of the Vandoria kingdom for so long that she had began to believe that she was as helpless as they said she was.
She coughed up some blood to the side. The burning in her chest was still there, and it looked as if it was only becoming worse. However, she could feel that she could still continue. Then again, she had no choice but to do it.
The air crackled with tension, the ground beneath her feet vibrating with the power radiating from the puppets. Her own spiritual energy surged around her like flames, casting an eerie, low flickering glow. Nora clenched her teeth, knowing that using her spiritual energy would bring excruciating pain, but she had no choice.
As she launched herself forward, her spiritual energy enveloped her, shimmering like a living flame. The heat was intense, searing her skin, but she pushed through the agony, focusing on the task at hand.
Right now, her own spiritual energy was cooking her up. It had been that way since she had her talent stolen by her Uncle.
She swung her sword with precision, her strikes imbued with spiritual energy. The first puppet met her head-on, its eyes glowing with a malevolent light.
The clash was brutal. Nora’s sword met the puppet’s blade, sparks flying as their energies collided. She felt a sharp, burning pain shoot through her body, making her dizzy. The second puppet attacked, and she barely managed to deflect its strike. Her shoulder was suddenly hit with a powerful blow, dislocating it with a sickening pop.
She cried out in pain, but her resolve remained unbroken.
In the shadows, Young Master Eunid and the butler, Old Fang, watched intently. Old Fang’s face was creased with concern. “Young master, we should stop this experiment. She’s suffering too much.”
Eunid shook his head, his eyes never leaving Nora. “A little more. She just needs to be pushed a little more.”
Nora, her shoulder throbbing with pain, gripped her weapon with her remaining functional hand. She summoned her spiritual energy, feeling it course through her body. It wrapped around her sword, making it glow with an ethereal light.
She executed the techniques of her sword clan, each swing heavier and more powerful at the point of contact. This was done to naturally increase the force blow of an attack. Even Chiron used a variation of this attack during his battles. Except his was heavy through out the fight. While she controlled the weight to increase only at the point of contact.
Her movements were fluid, despite the pain. She cut down the second puppet, her energy-infused blade slicing through its form.
*CLANK!* Sounds, and the SAMASHING of wood to the ground could be heard.
The third puppet attacked with a flurry of elemental strikes. Fire and wind lashed out at her, but she countered with fierce determination. Her spiritual energy blazed brighter, the pain intensifying with each move. She felt her consciousness waver, but she couldn’t stop. With a final, desperate swing, she defeated the third puppet.
The fourth puppet loomed over her, wielding a massive hammer. It struck her knee with brutal force, dislocating it. The pain was blinding, a white-hot explosion that made her SCREAM.
Tears streamed down her face, but she refused to yield. She hopped on one leg, her sword raised high. Each strike she made was filled with the weight of her spiritual energy, her zeal was still unwavering.
At such a time, a deep sense of pride of her heritage welled up from within. Then again, she could not help it. Right now, she could remember when her brother had faced all those cultivators on his own on that day that the Chikitsa clan had ended.
Back then, Chiron had fought until he had even lost his arms, but he had still not given up.
In her mind, she had to admit that he was truly amazing. To think that he rose up from having nothing, and even being a tool of the clan to the ender of it.
By now, she knew that she might have to one day face him. No! she wanted to. And for her to do that, she had to be stronger. She had to be better, she had to give it her all.
A broken shoulder? That was nothing. A dislocated knee? Surely it cannot compare to losing one’s arm. If he could do it, then she could do it too. And so she pushed, again and again.
She could not help but continue to push. She gritted her teeth, determination came from inside her, in a way that she never knew she was capable of.
Young Master Eunid and Old Fang watched in amazement. Nora’s spiritual energy was changing, becoming a vibrant array of colors, like rainbow flames dancing across her body. She coughed up dark, bad blood, a sign of the intense strain she was under.

Old Fang’s eyes widened in realization. “Young master, it’s unbelievable, but I believe her body is cleansing itself.”
Eunid’s gaze sharpened, watching Nora with a newfound intensity. “She’s purging the impurities of her Dantain on her own. This is incredible.”
Nora, her body trembling with pain, pressed on. She attacked the fourth puppet relentlessly, her sword moving with deadly precision. Her spiritual energy surged, and with a final, powerful strike, she brought the puppet down. She stood there, panting heavily, her body wracked with pain but her spirit unbroken.
The air was filled with the scent of blood and sweat, the ground stained with her efforts. Nora’s vision blurred, but she remained standing, a fierce light burning in her eyes.
She had pushed herself beyond her limits, and in doing so, had discovered a new strength within. But her troubles were not over.
“Good!” Young master Eunid nodded. Very good! Now send in the one with the flames.”
Old fang turned to him, “Young master…”
“Just do it. I have heard of it, those that the heavens had seen worthy to join the ranks of the awaken on their own. Those that were not born on this side of the world, but had to carve through and awaken their Dantain by will.
I have heard the stories and seen the records of the Family, but never have I experienced it. From what I gather, it is only myth. But look at her, she is doing it… Also, what is that scent of herbs in the air?” Eunid frowned as he turned to the butler.
