Chapter 529: Threat Of The Turning And The BloodRunes
“…But unfortunately, I can’t. after all, these are rune symbols signifying the TURNING!”
Eunid heard those words and his eyes widened in understanding.
Rune knowledge was one that was compulsory for those of the virtue lineage, and as many others, he had learnt their importance.
After all, it was the foundation of all things. Of course, no one was as proficient in its usage as a certain group amongst the virtues families made entirely of dwarfs.
Runes just came almost naturally to dwarfs as they were natural carvers. Runes were the reason that they had the level of technology that they controlled.
Of course, they were ranks to its proficiency, but without them, it was safe to say that the Holy church would not be behemoth that it was today. After all, the Dwarfs supplied the entire Holy church with the runes that they used.
It is said that they are three major levels to the comprehension of runes. The first was the Ancient Handling of laws. This one was taught to all. Of course, full comprehension of this could take many many years.
And even the Dwarfs that were almost naturally talented on this front had to diligently study for many years. So much so that Eunid thought that they were the ones that deserved the name Diligence, but then again, they were known as the Virtue Family of Patience.
Truly, one needed incredible patience to do what they did. After all, they have been accounts of people running mad because of the study of runes.
Only an incredible level of patience could have brought fought the amazing this things that they had created.
But even the first level as incredible as it was, was nothing compared to those that could Rune speak. It was called the Ancient language of laws. (Author’s note: A quick reminder from Book one. Check chaps 37 & 38)
In this aspect, there was only one people that actually beat the dwarfs, and that was the Elves.
It was no wonder that as a lone race, they were able to challenge the entire world, and declare that their race was the most superior there was.
After this was the ancient language of thought.
This was the art of weaving runes by simply thinking their existence. Records on this was scanty, but it did mention one person that was capable of such a thing. That was the Elven King.
That abnormality was indeed an incredible man. But even he could only summon his strength to think two syllabus in runes.
It was indeed a miracle that the Elves had won that war.
Nevertheless, in the entire world of runes, there was one use of runes that was forbidden, and that was of course, the use of Bloodrunes.
Bloodrunes were used by demons to turn normal living creatures into their kind. It was how they made more of their kind, as demons were incapable of reproducing their own. The absorption of devil energy to become demon energy is against the cause of nature, and as such, nature corrected this issue.
At least such was the preaching of the Holy Church.
But then, there was one person that was a deviation of the norm. It was the reason she had earned her name. The Demon Mother. She had birthed a child, a daughter.
Of course, this was many years ago.
There where rumors that she was destined to be the next demon king, a feat all living things with a history of ten thousand years ago prayed against vehemently.
Fortunately, the rumors turned out to be a lie. After all, in all these years, nothing had happened.
But this brought a level of suspicion to Mulligan’s mind. After all, part of the rules for The Accords, a treaty that was signed at the demise of the Elves stated that Demons were not allowed to create any more demons.
This treaty was signed with the Mother Demon, the strongest power of the nether realm, anchoring the might of all the others in a blood oath.
This rightly meant that under the Oath of the accords, demons who were the only ones with knowledge on how to make other demons could neither create demons nor teach another how to do them.
Of course, it was a stab on them so that they could not increase their numbers.
But at the same time, it offered them the ease to roam the world without discrimination of their kind.
Of course, this was true if they did not set out for battle.

Nevertheless, the demon mother had jumped on the offer, agreeing almost immediately.
So fast that at the time, the seer was certain something was wrong somewhere, but she too had agreed regardless. After all, it was also restricting her sister from never leaving the Castle of Bones.
But the evidence that Alfred had just brought forward was a striking one that needed a lot of attention.
In fact, mulligan had to bring the issue before the Seer, and possibly the other head of families.
Mulligan turned to Alfred, “this is an incredible discovery you have made. I am sure the Seer will reward you for this. But at the same time, this proves that the mountain range is too dangerous. At least for the moment, our forces should not go anywhere near that place.
Send out my orders, all those stationed to explore the mountain range should return to the Barracks. And you, brother. I’ll rather you stay within the family. At least until this is settled properly.”
Alfred nodded as he bowed to Mulligan respectfully. He had a smile on his face.
A smile that Eunid found to be suspicious. “Father, may i see the images again?”
“Of course!”
Eunid took the orb and sent spiritual energy into it.
After a while it back to life again. He looked at the image intently. As he did, Alfred by his side frowned.
But Eunid did not stop. “Uncle, are you sure these are not fake?”
