Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 536
Chapter 536: The Mind’s Lust
Chiron Suddenly opened his eyes. “So that is what it is!”
A realization like no other had suddenly hit him in the head.
With everything that had happened so far, Chiron had gotten the misconception of Lust.
Just like any other person, he had believed the concept of lust to be a physical attraction of sought. An attraction that encompassed the union of sweaty bodies with an addiction for sexual gratification.
And thus, he assumed that the test of the mind would be in similar relation to the test of the body. However, it was not so. the test of the body was to build the physical body while offering the temptation of pleasure, and still trial the individual on the path of endurance and pain.
While the test of the mind was something else entirely. Chiron thought maybe he would have been bombarded with the attention of multiple women and men, possible naked.
But the seduction of the mind was unique in nature. The seduction of the flesh was the comfort of pleasure, but the mind craved something else.
Or at least, his mind craved something else. And this was what the test captured for him.
Chiron had been troubled for as long as he could remember, leaving this world and then coming back to it.
It had not been an easy process for him at all. he had moved from pain to pain. even with his knowledge of this world, it was still an unforgiving place to survive, and the heavens had not been kind to him.
Of course, all this made him stronger, but at the same time, it also beat heavily on his mind. After all, he was still human.
Just to train his mind to always be on edge, chiron did not even permit himself to sleep on bed, only finding his temporary rest on the cold hard ground, all in an attempt to force his body and mind on the task at hand.
Even though he had grown so far so fast, all this was still a strain on his mind.
And deep down, whether he wanted to deny it or not, his mind craved it. It was like the hunger of a new born to his mother’s milk.
Deep down, his mind carved Peace. And thus, birthed the crafting of this world.
Even Chiron could not believe it, but in both his life times, the one place that he had actually found peace was actually in this place, when he had nothing and slept under a bridge, when all he looked forward to was the smile of Clariclo and the pleasure of telling her stories.
Chiron opened his eyes gently and then he looked up to the sky. No one needed to tell him. He could already predict how the rest of the story would progress.
After all, the wash of peace to his soul had been so profound that he actually shed hot, painful tears.
This was something that he had never needed to do, always hiding all of the pain as best as possible. Even when he lost his arms, he had not shed a drop of tear.
But just the peaceful touch of woman was all it took to make him water down like a child.
Truly, there was nothing that his soul craved more than this peace.
Chiron turned to her, and then he smiled at her. This was not like the other smiles he gave, where it was from the pride of gain or hurting people for his benefit.
It was a genuine smile from within his heart, expressing his fondness for her.
Clariclo stared back at him, “what!? Why are you looking at me like that?” she gave a shy smile, “…is it because of the way I held you?” She panicked a little, fidgeting with her fingers like a little girl with a silent crush.
Chiron could not help but find her to be incredibly adorable, and he pinched her cheek a little, just like he had always done.
“Chiron!” She pretended to be mad at him, but her face still leaned into his palm, as if encouraging him to touch her more.
“Would you like to hear my dream?” Chiron suddenly asked.
And she nodded, “yes please!”
Chiron presented his hand and she took it, and they walked steadily, down the water side. As they did, chiron looked around, enjoying the slightly noisy sight of the busy people.
Oh, how he had missed this family smell of tire against the tard roads and the sight of people with gadgets and the tourists that enjoy taking pictures by the water side.

There was also old Ben, seating close to the edge, feeding the birds, and laughing at their struggle for bread crumbs from time to time.
It was always old ben’s way of enjoying the day.
All looked, and seemed so peaceful.
Truly, his heart had missed it. Missed so much that even the foul smell on his clothes from under the bridge was refreshing to behold. After all, it was the innocent smell of a homeless man with no worries whatsoever.
No, climb for power, no struggle to be the best, no back stabbing, no planning and manipulation, no lies. Just the innocence of peace.
There was a saying that ‘One does not know what they have until it is gone’. Right now, those words had never been so true as they now were.
Chiron smiled at the woman of his dreams, and then he began his story as they continued their stroll.
He talked about how he had been pulled into another world against his will. He talked of how he had been branded the Tamashi, and how his own father had wanted to kill him.
He spoke of the trials he had to go through, against his uncle, he even spoke about his acquisition of Devil’s blade and the sacrifice he had to make to get it.
He spoke of how fate hunted him time and time again. He spoke of his vow to the twin moons. And then of his little sister, and how he had to kill any form of true love and attachment to her, just to stay true to the nature he had chosen.
And then he told her of the half Elf elder, and how he had deceived her that he was a godchild.
He spoke of how he had challenged his cousin even though he was not yet a cultivator, emphasizing the incredible pain he had to go through just to train and meet up with the basic standard to face off against cultivators.
And then they found a place to sit. A spot Chiron had been fond of for two reasons. firstly, it was closest to the Pizza restaurant, allowing for the smell of constantly baked pizza to reach one’s nose, a filling that gave a homeless guy like him the impression that he was tasting the food and secondly, after a while of his tummy grueling at him, he would finally summon the courage to walk in and take advantage of the left overs.
Sitting at this side really brought back some very pleasant memories.
But Chiron was more invested in spilling his heart to her.
He told her everything he could remember.
How he had planned to sacrifice his sister because of her relation to him and obvious talent, his father’s hatred for his existence, how he became prince of a foreign nation and the pursue of the holy church.
As he spoke, she never ever interupted him, allowing him to spill out his heart as he saw fit.
It was a different kind of joy to pour out his heart. The more he talked, the more he wanted to talk, and all she did was nod, here and there, and sometimes giggle.
And in her eyes, he saw a kind of attention he never knew that he craved.
Chiron had made many achievements in his life, breaking bounds that had been set by the world on him, again and again, but there was nothing that he cherished more than that look in her eyes as she stared at him.
If he was to put a label on it, then it had to be this one. It was priceless.
By the time he was done talking, the sky had become dark, and only a single crescent moon was in the sky, its peeing gaze on the earth, competing with the bright lights of the streets.
And yet, her gaze had not left his lips. His story ended and then he looked at her. Chiron could not, lie, he felt relived. But he could tell that his heart yearned for more.
And so he leaned in, a brave action that the old him of this world had never done up until the time he had lost her.
His fingers danced on the slap, climbing her fingers, and for a moment, he looked into her eyes, as if searching to see if she was going to reciprocate the subtle hint of attention he was giving her.
And her response…
