Chapter 567: History Will Not Repeat Itself
For anyone watching, it was a clash of swords, fists spiritual energy and even techniques, but in Nora’s eyes, it was something else entirely. It was a version of the world no other person could see.
The moves made, the display and management of spiritual energy. It was all not overwhelming but filled with errors. Every movement Eunid and arid made was filled with mistakes.
Incredibly enough, this was what her mind told her. It could be better more efficient, more in tune, more sharped, all to bring about the most efficient twist and materialize efficiency beyond common sense and reasoning.
Even her herself could not understand why so much information was bombarding her mind, but she did not care enough to think of it. For her, a brand new world had just been made open and she enjoyed as it proceeded.
However, she suddenly frowned, “he is going to die!” she muttered lowly.
She could not help but turn to her side, but then she remembered that Old fang had returned back to his seat. He had told her to wait here, that Eunid was going to be needing her help. It turned out that it was true.
The last attack that arid gave made Eunid cough out a mouth full of blood. Arid was much stronger than he was, and more in tune with the flame of the family and now, it was starting to show.
Arid also saw this, attacking again and again, in relentless continuous assault.
However, the scorpions, also did not give them rest, attacking to sting these people that had dared to suppress them.
This meant that four sting tails were coming for them as they fought one another.
At a time, one of them almost got eunid, striking his shoulder armor.
Arid took advantage of this and pressed his attack even further.
Eunid frowned, he was too slow to defend against Arid’s attacks, of course what contributed to this was the armor. But at the same time, he needed the armor to defend against the possible attacks of the scorpions. their poison was so Letal that one sting was all it took was one sting to kill fifty people of his power level.
There wa sno way he was going to risk getting stung by such a core beast.
*SLASH!*
Ari’s blade tore through one side of his armor, fetching out a good amount of flesh from his side.
His Blood stained the creature underneath him. The sight of blood excited the core beasts even further and they attacked more.
At the same time, it also excited Arid and he attacked with his knife even more relentlessly.
He could see it now. Just a little more effort and he would kill this boy that stood in his way to the top.
He raised his blade high into the sky, to stab downwards. Eunid’s hands were already numb from the constant attacks and even him knew that this next attack might hit. He might not just be able to dodge in time.
At such a time, it happened.
A loud scream from one side of the arena. this screamed seemed to have been powered by spiritual energy.
It was the scream of a young girl. “Turn to his left side! He his weaker on his left side!!”
It was at such a time that the blade was about to hit.
Eunid instinctively took the advice that had been given, rolling to the left side, just in time before the attack landed. And then he kicked his opponent backwards. Surprisingly, that worked.
And every one in the arena could not help but look in the direction of the person that had screamed.
It was Nora. she was at the edge of the gate that led to the resting area.
The sight of little girl barely in the stone rank was no surprise to anybody. After all, the branding on her neck said it all. she was a slave.
But the truly amazing thing that made even the elders frown was the fact that the eyes of such a low ranked cultivator could keep up with the battle of such high ranked cultivators that were in the middle realms. This much was unbelievable. But even more unbelievable was the fact that she was not only able to follow their movements, but even able to study it and effectively find a weakness in the attacks of one of them.
Even Mulligan frowned at this, while Alfred’s eyes brightened a bit. After all, he knew what Nora was, and had long had his intensions on her.

Mistress of the Night looked closely a bit, and raised a brow at the little figure of Nora at the far end.
At the same time, Eunid also turned to see who it was that had helped him.
He too like all the others was surprised. But that did not mean that the fight was over. After all, Arid was quick with recovery.
He launched his attack again. This time around even more fierce. However, he was angry that he lost the first opportunity and did not calculate well. one of the tails of the scorpion suddenly struck him.
The moment one did, the other tails as if trying to take advantage also attacked.
The first attack was blocked by the armor, and the second, but the third seemed like it brushed past him as he stabbed right into Eunid’s shoulder.
“AHHHH!!!” Eunid screamed. If the scorpion attack had not meet, and changed the obvious trajectory of the attack, he would have definitely been a very dead man by now.
After all, it would have entered into his heart.
At such a time, while, Arid was on top of him, The core beast scorpions attacked again.
This attack, Arid could not notice, and Eunid could not move out of the way because of the weight of Arid on him.
the only choice in the matter was to roll over.
Although unwilling, Eunid, grabbed his cousin by his armor, and then with incredible force powered with a fierce scream from his lungs, he pushed him, and then the both of them tumbled to the side.
The push was so incredible that both of them landed on the ground. Each one rolling to opposite sides.
“They are both on the ground.” One Elder stated. However, Mulligan raised hand to stop him. “The match his supposed to end when one touches the ground. There is no law saying it has to end when both of them touched the ground. Let them be. This battle is still far from over.”
His words made the Elder settle down. After all it was true. This meant that the only qualification for who would win this match was efficiently the death of one or the other.
At the same time, the Core beast scorpions had engaged in a battle with one another.
Apparently, Eunid and Arid dodging that attack had led to one scorpion sting the other. As a very aggressive specie, it would not stand for that.
Meaning that although it was temporary, these two only had each other to contend with.
Eunid was the first one to stand to his feet. The knife was still lunged in his shoulder. However, he did not remove it. Even he knew that doing that in the middle of a fight would be a terrible mistake.
However, looking at Arid, he could not help but smile a little. after all, the scorpion’s tail had brushed his arm, and right now, that place was pulsating with red veins spread out from one point like the roots of a tree.
The crowd also watched intently. Surely, not even Arid could withstand the attacks of such a core beast.
However, Arid stood to his feet, and then he staggared a little.
“Give up Arid! You are already poisoned. If you forfeit now, the clerks might be able to help you before the poison does irritable damage to your Dantain.”
However, Arid chuckled a bit, “Eunid, you ignorant fool. Do you think, that I, Arid, stone born of highwaters will give up? Do I LOOK like my mother that lost to your father for the succession rights?”
Those words made Eunid frowned.
A challenge for succession just like this one had indeed happened a long time ago. It had been between the sister of Mulligan and himself. Back then, Alfred was too unworthy to challenge for the post of patriach of the family.
And the person that had her eyes on the seat was Mulligan’s twin sister, Vernessa.
She had been a torture opponent, but somewhere within the battle, she had forfeited the match.
This had been a shame to her existence. Of course, she had been banished out of the family.
However, according to tradition, her bloodline remained a property of the family and when Arid was born, he was taken from her to become an asset of the family.
This had been a scar in Arid’s heart, and was why he was the easiest instrument for Alfred’s manipulation….
