Chapter 574: The Soul Contract Between Chiron And The God’s Heir
The confrontation with Eunid against the soldiers of Arid did not end until a few hours later. Although Eunid withe Nora’s help once again, was able to defeat them, he ended up in a very terrible state.

It was at this point that Alfred, being a loving uncle that he was made the suggestion to mulligan for the heir of the family to be assigned a guardian rune.

This were very expensive to make, also very delicate to carve, and could release tremendous burst of power that could potentially kill even an army dependent on their power rank and even their nearness to the individual.

However, It would be carved on the skin of the individual. There were of different types. However, considering what had happened, Alfred suggested that a rune that would activate on impulse of danger be used on Eunid.

Although Eunid had managed to win, no one was sure of a next time. After all, the family had indeed fallen to an extent and that was why loyal followers of the family would decide to pick death over serving their master heir.

Mulligan thought hard at this, and regardless of Eunid’s protest saying that he did not want to carry such a mark as it would make people look at him like a coward, mulligan still agreed to the idea.

Unknown to him, this was all part of Alfred’s plan.

This decision to mark Eunid with a guardian rune will eventually become the lighter for the great war happening a few years later.

This same war was not supposed to happen until the next one hundred years. At least that was the case according to the initial time line of the story that Chiron was most familiar with.

Meanwhile… Chiron continued to fight for control of his mind against Manu Madayaki, frustrating even the god’s heir.

In this place, days had become months, and months stretching to even years, but Chiron had not stopped one time to rest.

He had continued to fight relentlessly while the orc land spirit helped to preserve his body in the real world.

At such a time, manu madayaki stopped attacking, as the gaze of the serpent looked to the sky, as if discovering something.

“It would seem like luck is finally on my side, two more have made it to the second test. If they are anything like you are, they will make it here, and even if I do not get your body, I’ll get there’s.”

Manu madayaki did not notice the subtle side smile at the corner of chiron’s face when he said this.

Chiron raised his head to him. Chiron already had a face with scraps of beards on it, evidence that he had entered fully into his teenage years in this place. His hair was rough, flowing down his shoulders in a scattered mess. And his eyes looked tired, but still some how carried the same glint of one that had made up his mind to conquer.

His knows was bolder, and his jaws, more prominent, coupled with his good genes from his mother’s royal side, he would have been a really handsome young man if he was well groomed and dressed the part.

However, right now, he was practically in rags, some of the clothes appearing to have become stuck on his skin. But that was not all. Devil’s touch used for a very long period of time, now looked like a literal extension of himself. Even his veins, and skin had grown into and over the weapon, making the connection between the both of them nearly, symbiotic in nature.

His muscular frame was lean, but bold, and at first fighting this serpent god was a problem to him, but he had learnt a lot within this long endless period.

He understood Manu madayaki’s fighting style, and even how much spiritual energy that this serpent could actually use to invade this world.

As such this was no longer a difficult task, holding the serpent back, but like waking up to enjoy the morning breeze. It had become his way of life.

Although an enduring one, but the fruits were worth it, making his mind a literal fortress. What they said about pain and suffering was true, and Chiron’s aim of building his mind like an edifice had long come to pass.

At this point, he was long ready to face more demanding challenges, and possibly even break out of this world if he so wished.

However, Chiron did not do such a thing. After all, he had a long plan that had spanned all these many months and years. he had to see it through to the end no matter what.

And he could feel it that he was close. The evidence was the fact that he could feel his connection to the totems that he had carved on the bodies of Deamon and Dylan.

They were close. Chiron was sure that the two that Manu Madayaki was talking about was these two and that was why he gave the side smile.

However, the second test was a very tricky one. If those two did not pass it then his entire plan for so long was going to efficiently go down the drain.

After all, if Dylan had not betrayed him in the beast land kingdom, he would not have been forced to take this drastic measures.

Chiron did not show it, but he really hoped that the bond that those two once had as teenagers was enough to help them pas sthrough the second test.

However when he raised his head, he looked at the giant form of the serpent that had become both his fierce enemy and companion for so long. “Such a shame! And here I thought you bragged yourself to be the offspring of a god. And yet you are in capable of even occupying one little human boy. HAHAHAHA!!! A shame indeed. You are now looking for an alternative. Its best you know this. If those two are able to pass the second test like I did, then just know that they might be just like me. If you are not lucky, even worse. After all, I have been in this place for a longer time. But them! their ties to the outside world must be stronger.”

Manu madayaki’s eyes seemed to curve in a frown, an espression that was not easily formed as a result of his serpent nature.

What Chiron said was indeed a difficult pill to swallow. But it was possibly true.

After all, Chiron had indeed held on for so long, and the two coming had even fought even more bloodlusts than Chiron had faced. It only made sense that they were tougher.

Now, Hope of leaving this place was slowly starting to look like nothing but a pipe dream.

Chiron caught the expression on the face of the serpent very well. He indeed enjoyed this look. After all, he was going to twist it to his own advantage.

Chiron chuckled in his mind. Be it god or human, they were all people. The only difference was the access to power that they both had.

“Why don’t we try this instead. A soul contract between the two of us.”

The serpent paused a bit, its sharp eyes looking at Chiron closely. If Chiron had suggested a soul contract between between the both of them when he had initially come here, the answer would have been a chuckle, but Chiron had proven himself of capability.

One could even say that he had the acknowledgement of a god’s heir.

Besides, in such a dull world of continuous gambling. The allure of a gamble was a seductive one.

“The stakes are a simple one. I do not believe that those two would make it out of that place. If they don’t I leave this place, free to go, taking your power with me. With it, I could potentially breakthrough to the sixth silver rank over night.”

“Go on!” Manu madayaki encouraged. “And If they do make it? what do I get?”

Chiron smiled, “My body. Just like you have always wanted.”

Manu shook his head, “freedom is tempting, but not enough. I want not just your body, but something else. That thing you keep hidden in you. I can sense it. A silver touch from a god far greater than even my father. Yes, I want that.”

Chiron frowned a bit. He knew what Manu madayaki was talking about. He was referring to his Change fate system. After all, they had been battling each other for a very long time, it was unavoidable that Manu would not smell that trace of divine, partly because chiron might have done it intentionally.

Chiron suddenly sat on the ground, his hand massaging his jaw as he sank into thought.

He looked like he was having in decision, and it made Manu madayaki very interested.

After a while of careful deliberation, Chiron looked to him, “I’ll agree to the deal if you add one last thing…”
