Chapter 583: Blood Contract Is The Bind
On the battlefield, all had been disposed of—save for a few exceptional figures. Among them stood those who bore gifted weapons, cursed weapons that had elevated them to leadership among the Orcs.
The Female Orc chief was one such figure, her presence still formidable and unyielding, but she remained speechless like the second warrior.
Another survivor, a war chief from a different clan, also remained. It had been his turn to wage war against the demons, and thus, he had outlasted the slaughter. He was chief of his clan and was one of the three clans that ruled this land.
Their weapons, humming with latent power, emitted a faint, ethereal glow, as though they were shielding their bearers with their cursed energy.
The light was subtle, but its power was undeniable, serving as evidence to their survival. Yet, their thoughts were far from the glow of their weapons.
The battlefield reeked of death and decay, the scent of their fallen kin filling the air, weighing heavily on their hearts.
This was the might of a Gold rank cultivator, a level of power that stood at the pinnacle of the world. It was a force to be feared, respected, and in some corners of the earth, worshipped.
In the oppressive silence that followed the carnage, a voice slithered through the air, chilling and wet, like the rasp of a drowning man.
“So, you have returned. I was unbirthed then. but I heard the stories. Before the Great War, Ten thousand years ago, the heir of a god fell among men, bringing with his fangs the appreciation for his poison and decay.”
Manu Madayaki halted mid-step, his eyes narrowing as he turned to face the speaker.
What he saw was a creature vaguely shaped like a man, but its surface rippled and shifted like the wind-tossed sea. Its entire form was composed of blood, swirling and flowing in constant motion. Numerous eyes blinked open and shut across its body, and as it spoke from a mouth that never seemed to fully form, more eyes appeared and disappeared in an unsettling dance.
Manu’s brow arched in mild interest, his gaze cold and unflinching. “One that can withstand my breath,” he muttered, scrutinizing the creature before him. His lips curled into a mocking smile. “Ah, a demon. That makes more sense—And a high one at that. I’m aware of the fall of your king some thousands of years ago. Are you here to greet your new lord?” His smile faded abruptly into a frown as he added with growing disdain, “But you’re just a clone. You dare send a clone to be my welcoming party?”
As he spoke, the ground beneath them trembled in response to Manu Madayaki’s anger, a ripple of his immense power. The demon’s blood-red flesh began to bubble and boil, its many eyes bulging in visible agony. It fell to its knees, its form convulsing with the pain inflicted by Manu’s mere presence.
“I—I…” the demon stammered, its voice breaking as it struggled to speak through the torment. “I only wished to formally extend an invitation to—Ahhh!!!—the Castle of Bones.”
Manu’s expression darkened, his eyes narrowing with utter contempt. “No,” he hissed, his voice low and dangerous. “You came here to test Chiron Chivalry, the vessel I now possess. Your so called seed of another King, but he is no longer…here, and your tests no longer hold any meaning. Instead, you offer an invitation.”
He let out a low, menacing chuckle, the sound reverberating through the air like a death knell. “Ten thousand years in your hellish prison, starved of your true nature. Your kind must be very desperate to offer me, a child of magic, an invitation. But you,” his voice dripped with disdain as he looked into the demon’s many eyes, “you are not of the class or caliber to issue such a summons. If you desire my presence, tell your… Demon Mother to extend it.”
Without breaking eye contact, Manu raised his hand and snapped his fingers. Instantly, the demon’s form imploded, erupting into a violent splash of blood that splattered the ground. Not a single drop touched Manu, who remained unsullied by the gruesome display.
A slow smile spread across Manu Madayaki’s face, the satisfaction of the act gleaming in his eyes.
At such a time, as Manu had finished with the demon, a shadow pool appeared behind him as Carla, still riding on Hunter’s back, rushed with her long obsidian claws coming for Manu’s head.
This was a double attack. She would hack off the head and Hunter the body.
However, just when both their attacks were about to reach, they paused just before they would reach his skin.
And then Hunter, the blue core beast fell on the ground, whimpering as it rolled around in pain, blood coming out of its eyes, ears, and mouth.
This was the same thing for Carla. Both of them screaming in pain as blood fell from their orifices. Manu madayaki turned to them. Carla also looked at him. Her eyes were red, but she did not break eye contact. And then through her pain, she spoke, “You… you are not him. You are not Chiron.”
“incredible!” he commended. “You can tell the difference. It does not matter. You have a master and servant blood contract with the owner of this body. You can’t harm me even if you want to. You may hate me, but I now own you. Both of you.”
He also turned to Hunter and the other two orcs that had survived the massacre. “Those blades you use have long been corrupted with my essence as I pulled with that foolish Precious land spirit for ten thousand years. And that is why you are still alive. You have survived by my mercy only given to worthy pawns.”
And then he spoke a word, “submit!” Instantly, even those rolling on the ground in pain, had no choice both to bow to him, and those that used the cursed weapons had their weapons—they once controlled force them to the ground.
He smiled, “good, now lets go. this world needs some reshaping… IN MY Image!”
Manu walked forward, parting the fog that could never be broken from within like he was lifting up a curtain. And the others rose to their feet with no choice but to follow him.
