Chapter 603: Eunid’s Decision
Immediately, Ramon and Arlen rushed over. One of them lifted Eunid unto his shoulder and the second one carried Nora who was still dazed by her actions.

The guards rushed to their heir, while some of them after Ramon and Arlen. But these two dwarfs were fast, their seize and the weight that they carried, doing nothing to the zeal of their escape.

“Stop them!” One guard screamed as he threw is spear in hand. Arlen dodged as he whistled loudly in the air.

A flying core beast, a Pegasus adorned with runes and having six legs, three on each side and four wings, suddenly landed swiftly.

Both of them mounted it and it immediately took for the skies.

Ramon urged Arlen to hurry up, as they escaped as fasts as possible, barely getting away, before the shields around the Chasity territory were put back up.

then again, things would have been even faster for the guards if not the fact that they were confused half the time on what to do.

After all, the Chasity elders were not going to let such an offense against their heir slide.

It was true that what Apollos did was grave, but a life had been taken by a slave. This was a case that would definitely reach the Seer’s table.

A few days later, in the territory of the Diligence family, ac tivities were rampant everywhere as everybody prepared extensively for the war effort.

The Chasity family would not let what happened go, and battles within the families under the holy church was not a new thing. In fact, it happened more frequently than the rest of the world knew it did.

And it always had a history of being bloody.

Meanwhile, the elders of the Diligence family had a meeting within the throne room.

“The Chasity family have more fighting power than us. I suggest we send over an apology letter to them. This is not a war we can afford to win.” one elder spoke up.

“What do you mean an apology letter. Their heir had the guts to assault our own, making us the laughing stock of the entire Holy Church. there is no one in the realm that has not heard about it. It has now become a wives tale on every lips. We cannot allow such a stain on our honor to slide. I say we go war.”

“Yes! I agree. War is the only solution. they must pay for such an embarrassment. A family that cannot even tame their urges.”

“What do you mean by that? My sources tell me that the young master was the one that sort for Apollo. he went to tempt him.” another one spoke up.

“You were not there. How would you know? the young master came back to the family home with a bloody behind. He was almost half dead. I say we avenge him.”

The throne room was rowdy with the arguments of the Elders of the family. Meanwhile, Mulligan, patriarch of the family sat in his chair with a grave expression on his face.

By his side was old Fang, the family butler and at the far end of the room was Alfred, resting against a wall.

At the moment, old fang hated himself for what had happened to Eunid. Ideally, he was supposed to have been there to guard the heir of the family. But he had been given other assignments, and they needed his attention. Also, he had been the one thatr pressed Eunid to take up the invitation letter that had come from Apollo.

Of course, he had never known that Apollo had such dangerous desires and the expression of them. But it was still true that he took responsibility for it.

Mulligan on the other hand, found himself between a rock and a hard place.

The reason was because he wa snot just the head of the family, but he was also Eunid’s father. As a father, a great crime had been committed against his own. But as a leader, he had a duty to protect his family, and the overall interest of it.

He rested one hand on the arm rest, and then after being tired of hearing their continous arguments, he raised a hand.

Instantly, they all quieted.

Even in his very sick state, mulligan still commanded absolute respect within his family.

“I see, and hear all your points. I know your hearts are all in purity for the family, and ours that has been armed. But I tell you this, we must trend carefully.”

All the elders nodded in respond to those words.

“The Chasity family has sent word, they want the the head of the murderer of their heir as well as very hefty compensations for the loss of their heir.”

“How hefty are we talking, brother!?” Alfred suddenly asked.

Mulligan sighed as he spoke up, “they want a third of our territories, including ten of our material mines.”

The entire room immediately erupted in a mix of anger, curses, and insults at the Chasity family. After all, the Diligence family onely had so much. They had lost too much over the years. If they lost as much as the Chasity family were asking of them, then they would as well fall from being one of the seven major families.

This price for peace would be the end of their family. It was just too much to pay. There was also the fact that the other families would laugh at them. And no doubt, every other family would seize the opportunity to pick on them. Pick on them until all they had had been taken away.

Yet, if they did not comply, they would be war, and that family would eat them raw, especially because there was a big chance that the other families might back them in secert.

The diligence family had the support of the Magicians, and could rely on them, especially because Eunid was betrothed to their mistress of the night and this was an insult to her honor.

But no doubt, things would escalate fast.

As such a time, a voice was heard at the end of the hall way. It was weak, tired, but no doubt, it had an edge to it. “we will go go war…” Eunid spoke up, standing at the entrance to the throne room.
