Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 612
Chapter 612: Eunid’s Legend
Eunid calmly wiped the blood from his knife onto his clothes, returning the blade to its sheath. He knew all eyes followed his every movement, absorbing the confidence that radiated from him. Though their forces were only ten thousand against the Chastity family’s hundred thousand, Eunid spoke with unwavering conviction.
“We’re going to win,” he stated, his voice steady and filled with certainty.
The commanders, inspired yet wary, rose to their feet and stepped closer. Eunid explained that he had devised a strategy to secure victory. One commander, still harboring doubt, hesitated and opened his mouth to question him, but Eunid cut him off, comparing it to a simple Warpuppet game—the same game he’d played against his now-dead cousin, Arid, in the arena.
The commanders were taken aback. Warpuppet games were merely simulations, nothing like a battle with real soldiers and lives at stake. Yet no one dared challenge Eunid’s confidence, the fire in his eyes silencing any objection. They nodded, accepting his plan, whatever it might be.
Two hours later, the impossible had been achieved. The Chastity family’s forces, despite their overwhelming numbers, were routed, defeated by the sheer determination and strategy of Eunid and his men. Word of the shocking victory spread quickly, and soon, the council members of the Diligence family gathered, shaken and in disbelief at the news.
The doors of the council room creaked open, and in walked Eunid, blood-splattered and unshaken, carrying the severed head of Kael in his right hand. Kael’s face was frozen in surprise, a look of disbelief still etched on his lifeless features.
Old Fang, the family’s loyal butler, stood in stunned silence. Eunid’s mother, overcome with emotion, burst into tears, her body trembling as she took in the sight of her son. His younger siblings, along with the members of the branch families, stared in awe and shock, struggling to reconcile the fierce warrior before them with the family member they’d known.
…….
The council room of the Chastity family was a masterpiece of artistry and opulence. Marble pillars lined the hall, each one engraved with the symbols of their family’s history. Silver chandeliers cast a soft glow over the intricate mosaic floor, and murals depicting their past victories adorned the walls. Each council member was draped in pure white robes trimmed with silver—a symbol of their family’s unwavering purity and dominance within the Holy Church.
The mood, however, was anything but serene. Council members wore expressions ranging from anger to disbelief as murmurs filled the hall. They were all gathered, their faces taut with a mixture of shock and shame, as the news spread: Eunid of the Diligence family, with a meager force of ten thousand, had defeated their hundred-thousand-strong army and slain Kael—a man of near-legendary status in battle.
“This is absurd,” one of the councilors muttered, his face flushed. “How could he have achieved such a feat? Ten thousand against a hundred thousand—this shouldn’t have been possible!”
A woman at his side, her face pinched with indignation, added, “The boy has been rumored as the number one genius of his generation, but to think he could do…this.” She gritted her teeth, her pride wounded by the humiliation of their defeat. “What he’s done is nothing short of a slap to our family’s honor.”
Another councilor, a man with sharp eyes and a scarred cheek, leaned forward. “It doesn’t matter what he’s done or who he thinks he is. We can amass a bigger force, ten times stronger, and wipe out the Diligence family for good,” he said, slamming a fist onto the table. “We’ll show him what true strength is.”
Before any more could speak, the room fell silent as their patriarch, an elder with silver hair and a presence that demanded reverence, raised a hand. His voice was soft but unwavering, carrying a weight that silenced even the angriest councilor. “Enough,” he said, his voice steady yet filled with command.
The old man’s gaze swept across the council. “I understand your fury, and yes, the actions of Eunid of the Diligence family are indeed an affront to us. But remember…” He paused, his eyes narrowing. “Even if we desired revenge, we are bound by the Seer’s decree. The Seer has ordered us to stay our hand.”
A ripple of shock spread through the room.
“The Seer?” another councilor repeated, barely able to mask his frustration. “With all due respect, Patriarch, the Seer is not the one whose family name was tarnished on the battlefield!”
The patriarch’s gaze hardened. “The Seer is not to be questioned. There are rules to disputes among the families of the Holy Church. Rules that we must follow, no matter how much we may wish to retaliate.”
Some councilors grumbled under their breath, but no one dared openly defy the patriarch.
Another councilor, who had been silently frowning, spoke up. “Perhaps there is wisdom in restraint, at least for now,” he said reluctantly. “Though it stings to admit it, this Eunid… may truly be the greatest genius of his generation. If he could do this much with so few, he should not be taken lightly.”
The patriarch nodded slowly, acknowledging the councilor’s words. “Precisely. Eunid may have declared his strength and his will for power, but we are not fools. His victory over Kael and our forces may have given him notoriety, but we shall watch. We will see if this genius’ fire will burn long or if it is merely a spark that fades.”
The room fell into a tense silence. Though many council members accepted the patriarch’s words, the taste of defeat remained bitter.
But the patriarch already guessed a few things as to how Eunid had won. After all, details of that battle had long reached him.
He really could not believe that they had fallen for such a stupid trap.
…
News of Eunid’s victory lohe a wild gire spread, shaking the entire holy church and the families under it.
Automatically, The Diligence family ranking had risen from 7th to 5th place because of this one feat.
But only Eunid, and The nameless Dwarf knew what had truly happened.
After all, Eunid might not have strength, but there was no battle that could not be eon without extensive planning, especially one that was long forseen….
