Chapter 615: Manu’s Secert Chess Piece
the Seer raised her hand, and with a single, dismissive gesture, the seals unraveled, each lock and ward dissipating into the air like mist under a hot sun.
Without hesitation, the Seer stepped forward, and the divine energy flooding the room roared in intensity, swirling like a violent storm. Yet she moved through it as if it were no more than a gentle breeze, her robes undisturbed, her demeanor as serene as if she had entered a peaceful garden. The air around her pulsed with power, bending to her presence and quieting in respect to her strength.
The others dared not enter, standing at the threshold as the Seer faced the divine storm alone, prepared to confront the forces wreaking havoc within the room.
As the Seer stepped into the chamber, a palpable awe gripped those watching. This was divine energy—the very essence of gods—unleashed and untamed. How she walked through it so calmly, so effortlessly, left every spectator in awe, as though witnessing something beyond mortal understanding. Moments passed in tense silence before a sudden surge of divine energy erupted from the room, blasting outward in a blinding wave. But just as quickly, it settled, leaving the onlookers frozen and silent. Then, the Seer’s voice called from within, inviting them to enter.
Inside, the atmosphere was still thick with divine power, though its fury had lessened. Only Eunid and Mistress Nightfall dared step through the doorway. Eunid rushed to Nora’s side, calling her name with growing urgency. His voice echoed in the silence, but she remained unresponsive, her face pale, as though in a deep, troubled sleep.
The Seer stood by Nora’s bedside, her gaze contemplative. “I have merely slowed the flow of divine energy within her,” she said, her tone cutting through the quiet with calm authority. “You should never have allowed her exposure to such potent divine power.” She continued, glancing at Eunid, her voice unyielding. “Her body is naturally suited to absorb and amplify energies—she is a cauldron, a vessel designed to distill and enhance whatever energy flows through her. Even now, the divine power within her is multiplying, harming her from within.”
Eunid’s face darkened with regret, his hands clenched tightly as he listened. The Seer laid a gentle hand on Nora’s head, her expression briefly softening, almost as if she had discovered something rare and precious. But her momentary tenderness vanished as she turned, and she strode out of the room.
Pausing by Mistress Nightfall, the Seer cast her a knowing smile, a mocking glint in her eye that only Mistress Nightfall could catch. It was a smile of both subtle triumph and veiled warning. She raised her voice, making her declaration known: “Nora will become part of the Fate Family. All resources of the Holy Church will be dedicated to restoring her dantain and ensuring her safety.”
Eunid’s face hardened as he stepped forward, defiance blazing in his eyes. “No,” he said firmly, his voice laced with conviction. “Nora belongs to the Diligence Family, and here she will remain.” His words rang with passion, drawing an amused chuckle from the Seer.
She regarded him with an arch of her brow. “Very well. If you can find a solution for her before I do, I will yield. But do not even think of consulting the Chastity Family—their techniques have long surpassed their limits for a case such as hers.” With a flick of her wrist, she gestured to two gold-clad knights. “Remain here and watch over her,” she commanded, her gaze sharp as steel.
With that, she turned, her robes sweeping across the floor as she exited, leaving Eunid and Mistress Nightfall to wrestle with the weight of her ultimatum.
Eunid’s expression was grim as he turned on his heel, his resolve hardening. He would find a way to save Nora, even if it cost him everything he had. As he began to stride away, Mistress Nightfall’s voice called after him, but he only paused for a moment, his tone curt but formal as he instructed her to leave the Diligence family grounds. Without waiting for her response, he disappeared down the hall.
Her parting words echoed faintly after him, pledging that she and the other magicians would stand by the Diligence family. She, too, turned and left, with her guardian Pangubox silently trailing in her wake.
Once on the magical carpet that bore both her and Pangubox through the skies, Mistress Nightfall’s composed demeanor faltered, her face twisting in barely concealed fury.
Her eyes held a darkness that Eunid would scarcely recognize—a mask stripped away, revealing anger and resentment. She clenched her fists, her nails biting into her palms as she whispered venomously, “That bitch…she’s mocking me.” Memories of the Seer’s mocking smile and patronizing tone lingered, fueling her rage.
Pangubox, observing her with a calm but watchful gaze, finally broke his silence. “What will you do about it?”
Mistress Nightfall’s gaze hardened, and her voice was a low hiss. “The plan will go forward, as intended. I need to see the Magistrate and the elders. But we must tread carefully,” she warned, her voice colder now, filled with grim resolve. “The Seer is no ordinary adversary. She even trends with divine energy.”
…..
The news rippled across the lands, reaching the ears of kings and warlords alike—a rare being with a dantain matching that of the legendary Demon King from ten thousand years past and the ancient Elf King from a millennium ago was now under the protection of the Holy Church. Whispers of this unparalleled power set the territories ablaze with tension, stirring both fear and ambition within the ruling Zodiac families.
The news of Nora’s plight only added fuel to the flames. Border skirmishes quickly escalated into fierce confrontations, each side preparing for the possibility of full-blown war.
The centuries-old balance upheld by the Round Table and its laws teetered on the brink of collapse, threatening to undo alliances and fragment the world into factions desperate to claim Nora for themselves.
Requests, demands, and veiled threats soon poured in from the Zodiac families, each insisting that Nora be handed over to prevent another disaster like those that had scarred history.
But the Seer, resolute in her protection of Nora, refused. She knew well that the families sought not peace, but power, each intending to bend Nora’s abilities to their own will.

Elder Baldie, his voice gruff with age and experience, finished recounting the tale to Manu Madayaki.
A sharp glint sparked in Manu’s eyes as he absorbed the gravity of the situation. This turmoil, this near-chaos, was an opportunity—a chance to seize influence and advance his own designs. A dark, calculating smile crept over his face as he began to weave his strategy, ready to turn the world’s unrest to his own advantage.
Manu immediately orderd elder baldie out as he waved his hand and a portal appeared.
This was a skill of the fate change system. Chiron used it to go to the site of his dead clam many times.
At the moment, manu had enough fate points to enjoy using it.
He reappeared at the site of his handiwork—a desolate field strewn with the corpses left behind from the massacre he had orchestrated after emerging from the forbidden fog of unbound demise.

The air here was still thick and poisoned, the stench of death lingering like a curse.
Bodies lay twisted and decayed, some frozen in expressions of terror, others reduced to little more than paste and bone.
Manu’s pristine robes and measured steps stood in stark contrast to the devastation around him. He walked through the carnage with calm detachment, his hands folded neatly behind his back as his sharp eyes scanned the scene, looking for one particular survivor.
Then, at the edge of the field, he found him—a man rendered almost unrecognizable. His arms and legs had been torn away, his body a mutilated husk, yet he clung to life with a stubborn intensity. His face was ashen, his breaths shallow, but his eyes still held a spark of defiance.
This was Dona, Chiron’s uncle—the one who had stolen Nora’s innate talent. The cruel irony wasn’t lost on Manu as he approached him.
A slow smile curved over Manu’s lips as he crouched down beside Dona, who stared up at him in shock. Despite his weakness, Dona’s expression remained defiant, his spiritual energy barely holding the blood flow at bay.
Without a word, Manu placed his hand on Dona’s chest, sending a current of powerful magical energy flooding through his body. Dona gasped as the pain that had wracked him for days subsided, his wounds closing, though his missing limbs remained absent. Relief flickered over his face for a brief moment before recognition set in. His voice, raspy and barely audible, croaked, “You…here to finish the job?”
Manu’s smile deepened into something dark and patronizing. “Finish the job?” he echoed with a chuckle. “Oh, Dona, you should be proud of yourself. For the first time, you are about to be the most important chess piece in a war unlike any other.”
Before Dona could respond, Manu pressed his hand to his forehead, his voice slipping into the ancient language of runes. Mystical symbols blazed to life across Dona’s body, embedding themselves within his skin and deeper still, carving their presence into his very heart. A sickly glow surrounded him as the spell took hold.
Manu rose to his feet, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. He had just set his piece, and soon the entire board would be in motion.
