Chapter 619: The Zodiac Dragon Family
Manu’s frown deepened as he listened to the priestess’s words. Silently, he retreated into his consciousness, descending into his inner realm.
In the bleak void of his mind’s landscape, Chiron— tortured and bound by writhing, serpent-like chains, his left leg already lost to nothingness. Chiron raised his head slowly, his eyes ever glinting with defiance.
“What, got a problem with me… snake breath?”
The insult ignited Manu’s anger, and in a flash, he was upon Chiron, his hand clenched tightly around his prisoner’s neck. “Where is it… the Guardian Token?” Manu demanded as his grip tightened.
Chiron’s eyes widened slightly, a faint spark of surprise in his gaze. “So, that’s what it’s called,” he sneered. “I just called it a rainbow box… Unfortunately, I don’t know where it is.”
Manu’s gaze drilled into Chiron, reading him deeply, though he sensed no deception.
Yet Manu knew Chiron’s cunning nature all too well, and he wasn’t about to take any chances. With a wave of his hand, he summoned a small, gleaming pill from the Fate Change System—a memory booster, the same potent tool Chiron had once relied on to recall crucial information of his past life.
Manu did not mind that chiron did not remember, at least, he hoped that was it. The memory booster would help do the job well.
He forced the pill into Chiron’s mouth, watching as its effects took hold. A moment passed, then another, and yet Chiron’s expression remained unchanged. “Like I said,” Chiron rasped, “I don’t know what happened to it. That day, the aura gods and I clashed, and it was gone… destroyed.”
Manu’s frustration mounted, but he withdrew from the mental space, his suspicions eased only slightly.
He’d reviewed every shard of Chiron’s memories, and although it didn’t add up, he knew Chiron had nothing left to hide. Returning to his thoughts, he cursed under his breath.
Ten thousand years ago, the Guardian Token had served as a keystone in the formation that had once bound him. And now, it was an essential element in the ritual he was planning to restore his full power.
He had been too cocky about the plan going his way that he had not accounted for the fact that something might have happene dto it. Then again, it had been placed where it was by the Aura gods. To say that something happened to it was next to impossible.
Of course, he had the option of just shifting continent. Each one had one of these tokens. But he had already made this one his home. Secondly, he was not so sure about what the other demi gods must have done there. Their plans were usually like his own.
After all, at their level of power, they lived very long lives, which in turn made them view human beings more like disposable tools more than anything else.
The only problem was that Manu had been caught before and that was it. As such they had forced him to his prison.
He did not want the same thing to repeat itself.
But without the guardian token, he would need a powerful substitute to act as the core. Fortunately, he had a contingency plan for this. This was one plan that he had long put into motion. But just to be sure, he needed a confirmation.
Manu called immediately upon the system, seeking answers.
It beeped as it appeared before him.
His lips curled into a pleased smile at the image that appeared before him—dragons.
Ancient, formidable creatures, and one of the few beings with the potency needed for his ritual. And their weakness?
He alone was one that possessed the knowledge required to exploit it. After all, he had long researched them and was the actual reason for their problems.
Satisfied with this shift in his plan, Manu withdrew from the system, turning his gaze back to the priestess, who was still bowed before him, her defiance simmering beneath her silence.
Placing a single hand on her head, he poured his malice into her, his fingers pressing into her scalp.
Her skin suddenly grew cold, and angry boils rose along her flesh, bursting with sickening pus as she collapsed, lifeless, to the ground.
Without a second glance, Manu swept from the room, his mind already set on his next move.
His next destination would be beyond the vail.
A tesseract waited for him outside the castle. Immediately he entered it, it took to the sky in a certain direction. However, it would not be until another two days before it would reach where he wanted it to be.
Beyond the veil was a point in this world, that was both within but yet existed on a semi higher plane than the rest of the world. it was not a entirely a physical barrier but more of a door.

Its entrances were scattered in different parts of the world. Of course all of these entrances were individual entries into different territories, by members of the round table.
These locations were usually guarded by their respective family members. The reason for this was not to stop the people from below the veil, after all, they would not survive beyond the veil as a result of their lacking dantain.
The guards were in place to stop other members of the round table from using these points as a means to enter each other’s territory.
The only point beyond the veil that did not have a guard nor needed one was the point leading into the Nether realm.
On getting to one such locations, Manu was faced with a guard, a sleeping dragon, right before the entrance.
“State you business or leave!” the dragon, an earth dragon, with a very huge form and clothed armor, spoke in a harsh tone.
Manu did not step out of the tesseract but rather sent his spiritual pressure out as he spoke, “The savior of your dying family. Go tell your patriarch to personally come give my welcome….”
