Chapter 631: The Chosen Day 4 [The Thieves 2]
The air on the platform grew heavy with bloodlust as Manu’s attackers regrouped, their rage obviously boiled at his recovery.
Their eyes were filled with greed and determination, locked onto the glowing pillar at the platform’s center.
It was evident that the pillar was sustaining him, fueling his resilience. The realization sparked a sinister hunger among them—they were no longer just trying to stop Manu but to claim his power for themselves.
Their confidence swelled as one of the attackers, a white-winged figure tgat descended from the sky, stepped forward with an object cradled in their hands.
It was an orb, shimmering like the surface of a moonlit ocean, exuding a divine presence that made even the strongest among them hesitate.
Manu’s golden eyes narrowed, his smirk faltering ever so slightly. “A God’s Tear?” he muttered under his breath, recognizing the treasure.
This wasn’t a mere relic; it was a weapon of divine craftsmanship, capable of sealing even the mightiest beings.
At least those within this world. It had once been the object of his down fall thousands of years ago when the demi gods banded against him back then.
The white-winged figure grinned arrogantly. “That’s right, Madayaki. Your days of playing god are over. This power you covet will be ours. ALL OF IT.”
The orb was activated, its surface shimmering with radiant energy.
A pulse of pure light erupted from it, sending shockwaves across the platform. From its core, glowing white chains materialized, shooting toward Manu with lightning speed.
Manu roared, sending his white serpents surging forward to intercept. The serpents hissed and writhed, their towering forms coiling protectively around their master. But the chains glimmered with divine energy, cutting through the serpents like blades through paper. The severed pieces of the snakes dissolved into shimmering motes, vanishing into the air.
The chains wrapped themselves around Manu, tightening with a predatory intent. Each link seemed to drain his energy, siphoning it away with every second.
Manu struggled and his body straining against the glowing restraints, but the chains only tightened, forcing him to his knees.
“Stop!” Manu bellowed, his voice tinged with desperation. “You don’t understand what you’re doing!”
But his words fell on deaf ears. His enemies grinned smugly, their faces were all painted with triumph.
“Not so mighty now, are you?” taunted the white-winged figure, pulling on the chains and dragging Manu several feet away from the center of the pillar. “Your power will soon be ours, and with it, the path to godhood.”
A towering beast lord, his mane shimmering with green fire, laughed uproariously. “What’s the matter, Madayaki? Afraid we’ll steal your throne? You should have known better than to try to play with powers beyond your station. Just know that Brother Shadow approves of your demise!”
The others echoed the taunts, their arrogance feeding off each other. One by one, they rushed toward the glowing center of the pillar, their eyes alight with greed.
Each of them sought to claim the energy coursing through the platform, driven by the promise of unimaginable power.
Far from the platform, hidden among the shadows of mountains much away from the corpses of mortals that now soread across the land, a group of observers watched the unfolding chaos.
Among them was the Seer, her violet eyes glowing faintly beneath her hood. She clenched her jaw, her gaze fixated on the distant figures scrambling toward the center of the ritual.
The Seer had a blood oath never to leave her holy city of the holy church, the only condition binding the demon mother similarly to her to Nether Realm.
However Manu was a threat no one counc ignore. Even other powerhouses had Co e from other continents just try and stop him, and yet the Seer was not satisfied with it.
Besides, like many others she did desire his power too.
The only thing was that she was far more calculating than most and had a habit of staying away from ‘lunch’ that she did not have hand in cooking.
An example would be this one.
“They’re fools,” one of her companions muttered, their voice tinged with disdain.
But the Seer shook her head, her expression darkening. Her voice was low and sharp, cutting through the air like a blade. “No. They’re dead.”
The others turned to her in confusion, but she didn’t look away from the platform. Her fingers twitched as she calculated the unseen threads of fate.

“It’s a trap,” she hissed, her words laced with urgency. “That bastard planned this.”
Back on the platform, the attackers reached the glowing pillar’s center.
At first, they rnjoyed the energy it fed them even feeling their power that had been stagnant for centuries grow. However it suddenly happened.
The radiant energy, their triumphant shouts turned into cries of agony. Blood began to seep from their eyes, noses, and ears. They staggered, their bodies wracked with spasms as the light of the pillar grew brighter.
“What… what is this?!” one of them choked out, collapsing to their knees.
The others recoiled, their confidence evaporating in an instant. But it was too late. The energy of the pillar pulsed violently, and those closest to it began to bleed profusely, their lifeblood staining the ground.
Manu, still bound in chains, chuckled darkly. His head hung low, but his grin was unmistakable. “Did you really think… I’d let you take what’s mine?”
The white-winged figure’s eyes widened in realization. “You… you knew this would happen.”
Manu lifted his gaze, his yellow, snake-like eyes glowing with malevolent glee. “Of course I did.” His voice was a venomous whisper that cut through the chaos. “And you all walked right into it.”
The chains around him began to dissolve, their energy unraveling like threads. The orb that had once radiated divine power dimmed, its light snuffed out as if consumed by an unseen force.
The attackers staggered, their movements sluggish as the energy they had absorbed turned against them. Their veins glowed faintly, mirroring the patterns that had formed on Manu’s body earlier.
“You wanted power?” Manu sneered, his voice rising. “Then take it. Take it all!”
The glow from the pillar intensified, and the air became thick with an oppressive energy. The attackers screamed as their bodies began to rupture, their essence consumed by the ritual they had sought to steal.
Manu rose to his feet, his smirk never faltering. “Thank you,” he said mockingly, “for making this so much easier.”
And he was right, they did make it much easier. After all, the cardinal sins were stronger the higher one went on power.
And also became too stubborn to control. Manu knew this. Also, these people did not have yhe mental facilities to make such a proud grand formation with no mistakes like him after all, they did not have the fate change system.
It was only natural that they would sooner take his power for themselves than they would destroy it.
Truly, the path of power was not an easy road and only got more difficult as one rose.
Many of these people had waited for thousands of years. Or rather, suffered their cardinal sins for thousands of years.
Manu patted the platform as he licked his lower lips, “i shoukd really thank that dragon Patriarch for the gift of the Draco Venenum…”
