Emma’s words, “Kneel to me,” came down like a divine edict, as though they carried the weight of the heavens themselves. Yet, the irony was undeniable—it was not the voice of a celestial being but that of a succubus demon.

And yet the effects were as such. At least for Manu.

The world seemed to freeze for Manu. His once unshakable will wavered, and before he could comprehend what was happening, his knees buckled. He fell to the ground with a loud crash, his powerful figure brought low in an instant. Confusion clouded his mind as an overwhelming compulsion seized him, an unseen force chaining him to the earth.

“Finally,” Chiron muttered, his voice dripping with anticipation. “It’s my turn.”

The snakes that had constricted him for so long, their coils infused with Manu’s power, suddenly slackened. One by one, they fell to the ground, lifeless and devoid of strength. Chiron stood up slowly, his movements deliberate, his body regaining its full form as if the shackles of his captivity had been completely shattered.

His upper body, which had nearly dissolved into nothingness, restored itself fully.

Power radiated from him, but it was not the kind of power that one could see—it was a force that came from unyielding resolve and an old grudge finally unleashed.

Chiron stepped forward, his presence in the mind space growing to dominate everything around him. With a wave of his hand, Manu’s consciousness was yanked forcibly into this shared space.

Manu’s form materialized, his golden tattoos glowing dimly, his eyes darting around in confusion. He could feel something was deeply wrong.
