Re: In My Bloody Hit Novel - Chapter 652
Chapter 652: A Chaotic World
As soon as they saw him, Emma and Hunter ran to Chiron without hesitation. Emma reached him first, her white eyes were filled with relief and joy.
Hunter, the hulking form of a shadowy green beast, followed closely behind. But Chiron’s attention was quickly drawn to the corner, where Carla lay on a bed of rough core beast pelts. She looked weak, her pale face framed by short, snow-white hair. Despite her fragile state, she smiled softly, stretching her arms toward him.
Chiron rested a hand on Emma’s head, his voice calm but filled with warmth. “You did very well,” he said, his tone gentle yet firm. “I know that waiting five years in secret to carry out my plan must have been difficult for you, but you’ve done incredibly well.”
Emma’s cheeks flushed as small tears welled in her eyes. She tried to avert her gaze, embarrassed by the sudden praise, but she couldn’t bring herself to pull away from Chiron’s hand. Instead, she stood still, allowing him to stroke her flowing white hair. For a moment, the world seemed to quiet around them, her silent tears were the evidence to the weight she had borne for so long.
After a while, Chiron stepped toward Hunter. The core beast was a sight to behold—no longer resembling its former self.
A green-skinned leopard that had evolved far beyond its natural limits. Its body was massive, easily the size of a grown man even while on all fours.
Though still green, its fur was now a much darker shade, almost black, with shadowy wisps rising from its mane. Its legs were thick and powerful, like the pillars of an ancient temple, and its form radiated strength and menace.
As Chiron ran his hand over the beast’s broad head, a deep, strained voice rumbled out, “Master.”
Chiron paused, surprised. The beast had spoken. It was extremely rare for a core beast of the purple core to achieve speech; that was a milestone typically reserved for beasts at the black core level.
Noticing his reaction, Emma nodded, her voice calm yet proud. “Carla and I were surprised too. He’s grown in ways none of us expected.”
Chiron gave the beast one last pat, silently impressed, before turning his attention to Carla. She lay motionless but smiled as he approached, her white eyes—entirely devoid of black pupils, having white pupils—watched him closely. Her short hair, damp and slightly matted, framed her delicate but fierce features. Though her body was lean and muscular, a testament to her strength, her current condition betrayed the immense toll the blood pool had taken on her.
Chiron knelt beside her and took her hand gently, his voice softer now. “I should thank you,” he said, meeting her unyielding gaze. “I know the blood pool is your handiwork.”
Carla gave a weak nod, her lips curling into a faint smile.
The blood pool was one of Carla’s new techniques, a powerful skill she had unlocked as she grew that day in power.
It allowed her to draw the lifeblood from other creatures, absorbing it into her own essence or transferring it to someone bonded to her by contract. It was a feat both terrible and awe-inspiring, but a testament to her dedication to Chiron’s cause.
Even though her body was drained and her energy diminished, the satisfaction in her expression was undeniable. Chiron squeezed her hand gently, acknowledging the sacrifice she had made. For a moment, there was only silence between them, but it was a silence that spoke volumes—a bond forged in blood, struggle, and unwavering loyalty.
Chiron raised his head to the three of them, “you have all done well… Now, tell me, where are we?”
Emma immediately spoke up, “We are still on the Almace continent, or rather, a better description would be that we are on an island close to the Almace continent. Most of the Almace continent was destroyed during Manu’s ritual. Millions of people had lost their lives, and then the battle against the Gold rankers and demi gods was the icing on the cake. It broke the continent into three uneven parts and now, each have been forced away one from the other. A great Sea now separates them.
Although rumors have it that some places like the Vandora Kingdom managed to not suffer that much losses, we decided it wa sbest not to go to a possible location that the Zodiac families or the other members of the round table may find you.
And yet, we needed sentient beings for the Blood pool and so we came here.”
“And how long have we been here?” Chiron asked.
“About three months now.”
Chiron’s eyes widened at the answer he got. To him, all that had happened was just a day ago, and he suspected a week max had passed but he did not think that three months had passed.
He sighed at this as he asked another crucial question. “Do you get news about the world from here? I need information, the Zodiac families, the Holy church, the Nether realm or even about the other continents, anything will do!”
Emma nodded. According to her, the fleet commander of the vandora kingdom who was still under her bond had been getting enough information, and her growth in power now allowed her to see into the minds of people that she had bonded to her will.
“It is chaos out there.” She started bluntly. Chiron raised a brow at her, but his lips betrayed his happiness in a slight curve, “How much chaos are we talking about?”
“Firstly, the Round Table have broken accords, and now there is an all out battle for who will truly rule beyond the veil. It just so turns out the Seer leaving her throne to fight over manu madayaki broke the deal with the Demon mother.
However, the Demon mother had not attacked the Holy city when the seer was away but had sponsored the rebellion of the magicians who failed as a result of…”
