Chapter 670: The True Goal Of The magicians
The Demon daughter did not struggle as she was taken away in an attempt to teach her mother a lesson.
After all, this was a part of the plan. A risky one, but one that her mother had assured her would definitely work.
It was all for their goal of seeing the rebirth of the greatest threat to ever walk the earth. it was all for the re-coming of the Demon King.
….
A lot was happening in the world. Different factions planning in their own way. It was all for the reins of power that had been destabilized by the arrival of an anomaly like Manu Madayaki.
Then again, he had been one of those powers that none could over look. In fact, even the One known as Shadow Brother, head of the Demi humans in this plane had become involved.
Firstly, the Seer left her Holy City. Secondly, the magicians attempted a rebellion against her seat of power in her absence.
Thirdly, the Zodiac families used it as an opportunity to attack and even worse, a lot of gold rankers and demi humans died all at once, forcing a lot of energy into the world.
Rumors had it that the energy in the world was currently as rich as ten thousand years ago again. Meaning that the world had now been officially launched into yet another Era.
One that is being accompanied with a lot of bloodshed and will not stop anytime soon.
Meanwhile, as the lot of this was happening, a group of people hunted in every part of the world finally reach their safe haven. It had not been an easy trip to this place, but some how, they had been able to finally make it.
Of course, these were none other than the Magicians.
The core of their lives, numbering in the mere hundreds had managed to escape the slaughter order of the seer. By now, hundreds of thousands of them had died at the hands of the Holy church that they once called their home.
The magicians arrived at a place held in reverence by all who knew of it, even those beyond the Veil: the Sky City.
Suspended high above the mortal world, this majestic haven floated amidst clouds as pure as freshly fallen snow. The city was a marvel of engineering and Energy, a testament to the incredible power of rune-based energy technology.
Its shimmering towers of white and gold spiraled upward, their polished surfaces reflecting the sunlight, creating a celestial glow visible for miles.
The inhabitants of Sky City were a breed apart, both in body and mind. Winged beings, their forms were statuesque, exuding an otherworldly grace. Their feathered wings varied in hues—white, silver, gold, and even shimmering iridescent blues and greens—each set more magnificent than the last.
Their alabaster skin seemed to radiate a soft, internal glow, and their eyes were sharp and piercing, filled with an almost unsettling clarity. They moved with a natural elegance, their steps soundless, as if the very air beneath their feet carried them forward.
These people considered themselves far beyond the reach and relevance of the surface dwellers, whom they viewed as inferior creatures trapped in the mud and grime of the earth.
The quality of the air in Sky City mirrored their superiority—it was rich and invigorating, imbued with subtle energies that seemed to sharpen the senses and fortify the spirit. Many whispered that their mastery of energy technology surpassed even that of the famed dwarves of the Holy Church, a claim that had sparked countless debates in the halls of power across the realms.
The city itself bore the influence of ancient Roman aesthetics. Grand colonnades lined its broad streets, paved with glowing white stone that thrummed faintly with energy. Archways adorned with intricate carvings stood at regular intervals, each depicting the storied history of their people. Fountains of liquid light bubbled in the plazas, their radiant streams filling the air with a soft hum. Gardens bloomed with flowers that seemed too perfect to be natural, their petals shifting colors subtly in response to the movements of those nearby.
As the magicians’ core beasts descended onto a landing platform of white marble inlaid with gold runes, the winged citizens gathered nearby. Their expressions betrayed a mixture of curiosity and disdain as they observed the arrivals, their piercing gazes unblinking. Yet they said nothing, their silence more cutting than any words might have been.
Waiting for the magicians was a figure who immediately drew the eye. His presence was as unsettling as it was commanding. A constant stream of black smoke emanated from his tall, lean frame, curling and twisting around him like living shadows. His wings were a stark black, unlike the radiant plumage of his kin, and they seemed to drink in the light rather than reflect it. Perched on his shoulder was a raven, also formed entirely of smoke, its eyes glowing faintly with an eerie light as it shifted restlessly.
This Person was the One known As Brother Shadow, the one acclaimed to rule over all Demi gods of this world, and the closest person to godhood ascension.
At the forefront of the arriving magicians stood Pangubox, the caretaker of the now-late Mistress of the Night. He was a towering figure, his presence exuding an air of authority and wisdom born of centuries.
His long white beard cascaded down to his feet, its strands so fine they shimmered faintly in the city’s radiant light.
Around his neck hung a necklace of beads, each one a miniature eye that moved constantly, their gaze shifting as if scanning their surroundings for unseen threats. In his weathered hand, he held a staff carved from ancient wood, its surface covered in complex runic patterns that pulsed faintly, as though alive.
Pangubox’s expression was solemn as he dismounted his core beast, his sharp eyes fixed on the man wreathed in smoke. Pangubox walked over to Brother Smoke and gave a very respectful bow.
“Is it done?” Brother smoke asked in an urgent tone…
