Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 104
Chapter 104: Don’t deserve any woman Chapter 104: Don’t deserve any woman “Madam, you shouldn’t see Roderick when Boss isn’t around,” Aiden advised her.
“I didn’t want the people to make a gossip out of it,” Layla said.
She stopped before her car and told Aiden she would be driving to Lucius alone.
“I’ll be happy if you provide me the report on the project I’ve taken by this evening,” she stated.
“Sure, I will.
However, I will accompany you to the Boss’s workplace,” Aiden offered.
“Don’t be worried.
It’s not far and it’s day time,” Layla said.
She remembered Lucius’s mother’s words, who wanted to see her without Lucius’s knowledge.
Though Layla had planned to speak about it to Lucius later, but for now, she had to go alone.
“Sure,” Aiden nodded and took a step back after opening the driver’s seat for Layla.
She thanked him and drove off.
Aiden tapped on the bluetooth.
“Stay close to Madam,” he said and walked inside.
Meanwhile, Layla reached the restaurant of which address Evelina had sent in the message.
She handed the keys to the chauffeur before walking inside the sliding doors.
Reaching the 3rd floor, she spotted Evelina already waiting for her on a table.
She was the epitome of elegance in Layla’s eyes.
As she approached her, Evelina left her place and hugged Layla.
“Thank you for coming,” Evelina said and asked her to sit.
Evelina called the waiter for the orders when Layla said, “I promised Lucius that I would have lunch with him.” “Okay.
Then, we should go with the iced tea,” Evelina suggested.
Layla agreed and placed her handbag to her side.
As she sat straight with her hands clasped on her lap, she waited for Evelina to speak.
“You should relax,” Evelina said.
Just then, the waiter returned with two iced tea and placed the glasses before leaving.
She took a sip and so did Layla.
“I thought Mother won’t come here,” Layla initiated the conversation.
“I wanted to know why you chose Lucius?
I understand he sent the marriage proposal to you, but have you not heard about him?” Evelina asked, the crease on her forehead told that she was a bit concerned.

“What does Mother mean by that?” Layla inquired.
“My son doesn’t have a clean work.
His father told him many times to leave the underworld work.
Are you okay with that?” Evelina asked.
“It’s not easy for any woman to win Lucius’s heart.
He doesn’t talk to me since I always ask him to withdraw from this kind of work.
As his wife, you should do the same,” she opined.
“If you cared so much for your son, why were you absent in the early years of his life?
The time when he needed his parents the most.
I think he got involved in this work when you both weren’t there for him,” Layla said.
“That’s not a justification of his actions.
His stupid friend was the reason why he got involved in this work.
De Salvo family was a famous mafia family in the past.
But two generations ago, they stopped working as mafias.
But Matteo messed up with my son’s brain,” she asserted with a slight anger in her tone.
Layla could not believe her ears.
Evelina didn’t understand her son at all.
“Thank you for your concern, but I don’t think Lucius is on a wrong path.
If you really wanted his good, you would have taken him with you, not leave him behind,” Layla pronounced and looked at the watch on her wrist.
“It’s the time I should leave.
I have date with my husband,” she added and stood up.
Bowing her head slightly to Evelina, she walked away.
As she entered her car, she called Aiden.
“I told you not to be worried for me.
Don’t tell Lucius that I met his mother,” Layla said and put the phone on the passanger’s seat before driving to pick up Lucius.
~~~~ Inside a cozy restaurant, Layla and Lucius sat for lunch.
He found her quiet and asked her if the first day at work tired her out.
“No,” Layla said and looked at him.
“Roderick came to see me.
He expected that I would return to him.
I just hate him.
I can’t believe I was in love with that man once.
I must be an idiot,” she muttered with a furious tone.
“What did he say?
Did he cross line?” Lucius inquired, his calm demeanor shifted into a stoic one.
“He won’t dare to do that,” Layla replied.
She wondered if she should speak about meeting his mother.
“I enjoyed the work at office.
I have taken a project and I made Aiden my secretary.
Since you wanted me to have a bodyguard all the time, I felt offering him the secretary position will be much better.” “That was a smart decision,” Lucius praised her.
The two focused on eating and after finishing, they decided to take a stroll around.
“Walking after eating is considered good,” Layla said, holding his arm.
She saw people’s curious glances at them.
“They must have recognised us,” she murmured.
“Yeah.
We can’t walk in public freely,” Lucius stated.
“I know a place.
Give me the keys,” he forwarded his hand.
She placed the keys on his palm.
“Where will you take me?” “You’ll know soon,” Lucius said and they both returned to the car in the parking lot.
Soon, they reach their destination, Aventine Hill.
The entire walkway to the top was covered with green grass and the two walked up slowly.
“I met your mother,” Layla suddenly told him.
Lucius lowered his head while he slowed down.
“When?
She is in Italy?” “Before having lunch with you.
Yeah, she has come here,” Layla said.
She decided not to hide this matter from him.
“What did she say?” “That I should take care of you,” she lied.
She felt telling the truth to him could hurt him.
“She really said that?” Lucius chuckled and again resumed walking.
“I doubt she would ever say that,” he murmured.
“Why do you say so?” Layla inquired.
“I know her.
She thinks I don’t deserve any woman because of what I do,” Lucius pronounced.
