Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 130
Chapter 130: Stop showing interest Chapter 130: Stop showing interest “Why?” Layla asked, genuinely surprised.
Lucius shrugged slightly.
“Dad didn’t say much over the phone.
We’ll find out when we get there,” he replied.
Then, glancing at her with curiosity, he asked, “How did things go with your father?” Layla sighed.
“He wants me to see my mother.
I think… a lot has come unraveled at home since the truth surfaced.” Lucius nodded thoughtfully.
“In that case, should we go to your place first?” She shook her head.
“No, I’m not ready for that just yet,” she replied firmly.
“Besides, your father called me specifically, so I think it’s best we see him first.” “Sure, then,” Lucius agreed, and together they set off for the old De Salvo family mansion.
The drive didn’t take long, and soon they arrived at the grand, sprawling estate with its tall iron gates and ivy-clad walls.
As they stepped into the vast living room, they were greeted by the cool, echoing silence of the old mansion.
Just then, Fiona appeared, having just come downstairs, a crystal glass of water in her hand.
She settled herself on the velvet sofa, her gaze settling on them with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
Noticing their unexpected arrival, she handed her glass back to a nearby servant, a faint smile tugging at her lips.
“Well, well… what are you two doing here in broad daylight?” Fiona asked, a note of amusement in her tone, as though their presence at this hour was both surprising and intriguing.
Her eyes moved from Lucius to Layla, waiting for an explanation.
“Why?
Do we need to inform you in advance before coming here?” Lucius replied with a smirk as he made his way toward the couch, Layla close beside him.
Fiona rolled her eyes, exasperated.
“Can’t you speak without that mocking tone of yours?” Ignoring his attitude, she turned her attention to Layla with an amused smile.
“You’re in the headlines again, Layla,” she chuckled, a hint of playfulness in her voice.
“Congratulations on always staying the center of attention.
Even my friends couldn’t stop asking about you.
Perhaps next time, you should come along to my kitty party,” Fiona suggested with a sly grin.
“My wife has standards, Fiona.
She doesn’t go around gossiping about people behind their backs,” Lucius shot back, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Fiona huffed, crossing her arms, just as a deep, familiar voice interrupted their banter.
“Ah, I see you two are at it again,” Alekis remarked, finally stepping into the living room.
All three turned their attention to him, and each greeted him respectfully, their earlier exchange settling as Alekis’s commanding presence filled the room.

“You two are old enough not to argue with each other.
I sometimes wonder about your age,” Alekis commented before looking at Layla, “Follow me to the garden.” He then gaze at Fiona and Lucius before continuing, “You two stay here and don’t argue further.” Layla cast a brief glance at Lucius before following her father-in-law.
Lucius sat on the couch after they left.
A servant approached Lucius, offering water, but he declined with a quick shake of his head.
Fiona settled herself on the opposite side of him, her gaze cool as she folded her arms.
Breaking the silence, Fiona’s voice took on a sharper edge.
“Why did you marry such a young woman?
You knew-” “Enough,” Lucius interrupted coldly, his eyes narrowing.
“I don’t need to hear about how eager you were to marry me after losing your husband.” Fiona’s lips curled into a smirk, unbothered by his sharp tone.
“Oh, please.
You’ve always known how I felt about you.” “Then don’t push it,” Lucius warned, his voice hardening.
“You’ll only make me hate you more.” “Does Layla know Sylvia has returned?” Fiona asked suddenly, her voice laced with an underlying curiosity.
Lucius arched a brow, taken aback.
“Why do you ask?” he replied, his gaze sharp as he wondered what she was getting at.
Fiona’s expression remained unreadable.
“Well, you might not be sharing your…
less-than-ideal past with your wife,” she commented, her tone laced with an insinuation.
“That’s not true,” Lucius shot back, his irritation evident.
“Stop showing so much interest in my life out of nowhere.” Fiona shrugged nonchalantly, her eyes glinting with something between amusement and concern.
“I saw Sylvia with Orabela,” she said, her voice lowering slightly as if to ensure her words had weight.
“I hope they’re not up to something nefarious.” Lucius’s gaze hardened.
“Where did you see them?” he demanded.
Fiona stood up, about to leave.
“Find out for yourself,” she replied with a sly smile.
Then, her voice dropped to a more serious tone as she paused by the door.
“But you should know something, Lucius.” She turned to face him fully, her eyes locking onto his.
“The work you’re doing might put your wife’s life in danger.
Since you love her so much, I thought I’d offer this little piece of advice.” Lucius stiffened, his mind racing.
“It’s not like you don’t have enemies,” Fiona finished.
With that, she left the room, leaving Lucius with the heavy weight of her cryptic warning.
“Sylvia is really getting on my nerves now.
Why did she have to meet Orabela?” He murmured.
“You better not have done something, Sylvia.
Because I won’t forgive you.” ~~~~ In the serene garden, Layla sat across from Alekis as a servant carefully poured tea for both of them.
Layla took a sip, trying to steady her thoughts, when Alekis broke the silence, his voice calm but carrying a hint of intent.
“You must be wondering why I summoned you suddenly,” Alekis said, taking a slow sip of his tea before setting the cup down gently.
“I just want to know if Lucius is involved in any kind of dangerous work these days.” Layla’s hand faltered for a moment.
She hadn’t expected this line of questioning, and for a moment, doubt flickered across her mind.
But she quickly pushed it aside.
“No, he isn’t,” she replied.
“Make sure he doesn’t.
I want you to withdraw him from the work of mafia,” Alekis pronounced.
