Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 138
Chapter 138: Date her, Roger Chapter 138: Date her, Roger “Then you shouldn’t speak ill of Layla either.
She did nothing wrong.
It was my uncle who sent her a marriage proposal without anyone’s knowledge,” Roderick said, his jaw clenched in frustration.
Sylvia’s sharp eyes narrowed as she retorted, “Well, that’s on you.
If you hadn’t cheated on Layla, she never would have married Lucius.
You couldn’t control your own desires, and now you’re trying to stake a claim on your ex?
It’s pathetic.” She crossed her arms, her tone dripping with disdain.
“I don’t want to work with you.
I’d rather handle things alone than deal with you as a partner.” “Good.
I don’t want to partner with you either.
You aren’t any better than me.
I know how you tried to defame my uncle for your brother’s death,” Roderick snapped, his voice laced with bitterness.
He hastily stuffed the bills into the checkbook.
Without another word, the two turned on their heels and stormed off in opposite directions.
Roger, seated at a nearby table, observed the entire exchange with a bewildered expression.
“Why do they both look so furious?” he muttered under his breath, sipping the last of his now-lukewarm coffee.
He glanced around, then quietly settled his bill and left, choosing to slip away unnoticed.
As Sylvia entered her car, she slammed her hand on the steering wheel.
“That bastard!
I wish I could slap him right there,” she muttered.
“Both Orabela and Roderick are idiots.
Orabela has already ruined herself, so she’s of no use to me now.” Meanwhile, Roderick in his car, cursed Sylvia.
“That fucking bitch!
She still opens her mouth, but to only spat nonsense.
Why can’t anyone see that I am trapped in all this mess by my uncle?
I shouldn’t have come into Orabela’s words that time,” he muttered, regretting his choices while slamming his hand repeatedly on the steering wheel.
As he put on the seatbelt, his phone vibrated, so he checked it first.
“Why is there a sudden dinner plan at home?
Why does Grandpa always do this?” He murmured before starting the engine and driving off.

I thought you had something important to discuss, but you vanished without a word,” Lucius said, setting aside the file he had been reviewing and leaning back in his chair in his study room.
Roger smiled, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Boss, I didn’t want to intrude on your moment with Madam Layla,” he said, his tone light and teasing.
“It looks like things are going so well between you two that I should start preparing to be an uncle soon.” He grinned mischievously, clearly enjoying the chance to tease his superior.
Lucius’s expression shifted from surprise to embarrassment as his cheeks flushed a deep shade of red.
“What nonsense are you talking about?” he said with a nervous chuckle, trying to brush off the comment.
Despite his attempt to remain composed, a faint smile tugged at his lips.
Roger, seeing his reaction, smirked even wider.
“Oh, come on, Boss.
Don’t act so shy.
You’re practically glowing these days.” Lucius shook his head and ran a hand through his hair, attempting to regain his composure.
“You’re far too interested in my married life, Roger,” he muttered, his tone laced with mock seriousness.
Then, as if struck by an idea, he added, “Maybe I should repay the favor by pushing you into some blind dates.
Let’s see how you handle being the one teased for a change.” Roger raised an eyebrow, feigning shock.
“Blind dates?
Boss, you wouldn’t dare,” he said, though the laughter in his voice betrayed his amusement.
“I’ve already attended so many blind dates at your places in the past.
I’m tired of that.
Instead, I want to fall in love with my dream woman.” Lucius’s expression softened as he chuckled again.
“Oh, I’ve something important to report to you, Boss,” Roger finally changed his tone.
“Hmm?” “I saw Ruby coming from the residential building, where Sylvia’s apartment is also present.
To my knowledge Ruby isn’t well-off but she was driving a luxurious car too.
And she is dating your rival, David Anderson,” he proclaimed.
“What?” Lucius was quite shocked to know the details.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yes.
I chased Ruby last night and found her heading to David’s house.
They both even kissed each other.
Does Madam Layla know anything about this?” Roger queried.
“I don’t think so.
She’s the one who told me that Ruby’s book cafe isn’t doing well,” Lucius stated.
“Then, you should tell Madam about it,” Roger suggested.
Lucius exhaled sharply, leaning back in his chair.
“Then there’s no way Layla would suspect this.
Ruby has always seemed… harmless.
But we can’t jump to conclusions.
First, I want you to dig into Ruby’s background.
I need every single detail-her childhood, adulthood, financials, connections-everything.
And don’t let Layla know about this for now.
We can’t bring it up without concrete proof.” “Understood, Boss,” Roger said with a firm nod before adding, “By the way, I followed Sylvia earlier.
She met with your nephew, but it didn’t seem like a friendly encounter.
They had an argument before parting ways, though I couldn’t hear what they were saying.” Lucius sighed heavily, his expression growing weary.
“Sylvia’s likely trying to drive a wedge between Layla and me again.
That girl just doesn’t understand boundaries.
I’ve told her countless times that she’s like a sister to me, but she refuses to accept it.” “Boss, you’re far too lenient with her because of Boss Matteo,” Roger said pointedly.
“You need to show her that even she has limits, just like everyone else.
You are a mafia boss, after all.” Lucius rubbed his temples in frustration.
“The problem is, Sylvia doesn’t scare easily.
Even Matteo told her to back off, but she never listens.
Maybe you should date her, Roger.
That might keep her occupied.” Roger looked horrified.
“No way!
I’d rather die than entertain the idea of seeing her!
She’s insulted me too many times about my status.
Besides, she’s… impossible.” Lucius chuckled at Roger’s reaction, the teasing smirk on his face making it clear he wasn’t serious.
“Relax, I was joking.
Don’t take it to heart.
I’ll assign someone else to tail Sylvia.
You focus on Ruby.
I need to know exactly what she’s up to.” “Understood, Boss,” Roger replied.
“Roger, I have something more to tell you.
Someone send a mysterious envelope in my absence to Layla,” Lucius stated.
“Was it when we were in Spain?” Roger questioned.
“Yes.
It was at that time.
Aiden knows about it, but he didn’t tell us since Layla requested him,” Lucius added.
“What does the envelope consist of, Boss?” Roger questioned.
He did sense a troubled expression on his boss’s face.
“The photos, articles related to my past,” Lucius asserted.
“What?” Roger was slightly confused.
But then, Lucius explained to him everything.
“I think someone trying to again put blame on me for my brother’s death.
It wasn’t me and the worst part is Dad will announce the future chairman soon.
If I try to meddle, this matter will come out too and I may be blamed for my brother’s demise.” Lucius turned quiet as he felt anxious because that phase of his life was quite challenging for him.
