Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 157
Chapter 157: Left me alone Chapter 157: Left me alone “Sylvia, don’t eye a married man.
Lucius doesn’t like your presence and the way you bother him is sickening.
He is kind to you because of Matteo.
And I’ve told you before too, I won’t be kind to you,” Layla said in am intimidating tone.
Sylvia, unfazed, chuckled as she walked past Layla, deliberately brushing her shoulder against hers.
Roderick, observing the scene with a pointed look, spoke up.
“I’ve heard she wants to marry my uncle.” He paused, pulling out his phone.
“Also, he allowed her to kiss him when she landed in Italy.” Layla raised an eyebrow as Roderick showed her the picture on his screen.
“Someone sent this to me that day, but I kept quiet.
But seeing how openly Sylvia challenges you now, I thought I should tell you,” he added, his tone uncharacteristically serious.
The photo showed Lucius with his hand clenched into a fist, while Sylvia kissed him on the cheek.
Layla stared at the image before gazing at Roderick.
“What do you want to prove by showing me this?” Layla asked, her voice steady but tinged with frustration.
Roderick’s expression softened.
“That my uncle might leave you for Sylvia.
For his late friend, he’s willing to make sacrifices.
I know you’ve given your heart to him, but you should understand what kind of man he was in the past.
Right now, he’s not showing you his violent side, but once he does, you might wish you ran away from him.” “It seems you know your uncle better than me,” Layla remarked.
“Oh, I do.
He loves to take lives,” Roderick stated.
“Stop it!” Layla snatched his phone and deleted that photo.
“Lucius never killed your father.
So, stop blaming him.
He is hurt because of people like you,” she muttered, her eyes flickering rapidly as anger coursing through her veins.
“Layla, you’re too kind.
You believe whatever my uncle shows you, thinking it’s the truth,” Roderick said, stepping closer to her.
Layla remained silent as she only listened to him.
Roderick’s voice grew heavier as it filled with bitterness.
“My father and my uncle had a heated argument two days before my father’s death.
I was there, I witnessed it.

My father wanted him to leave Matteo’s side, but my uncle refused.
I was just a child back then, helpless and powerless.
But I’m not that kid anymore.” He took a deep breath, his gaze locking onto hers.
“Layla, I’ll let you live with my uncle forever as his wife.
But one day, you’ll regret loving him.” With those words, Roderick pulled out a stack of bills from his wallet and placed them on the table.
He then turned and walked away without looking back.
Layla ran her fingers through her hair and chuckled.
“They all are the villains in Lucius’s life,” she muttered.
~~~~ In the dimly lit, secluded corridor of the restaurant, Roderick and Sylvia met in silence, their footsteps barely audible against the plush carpet beneath them.
Roderick leaned back casually against the wall while putting his hands inside his pockets.
“What made you change your mind?” he asked.
“Why align with me now?” Sylvia glanced around swiftly, ensuring no one was in earshot.
“I can’t stand Layla.
She’s been a constant obstacle, always getting in my way.
By the way, did you handle the task as I instructed?
Lucius has always been her shield, the reason she clings to him, thinking he’ll protect her forever.” “I’ve used my card, Sylvia,” Roderick remarked with a hint of finality in his voice.
Sylvia raised an eyebrow, her gaze skeptical.
“And what exactly does that mean?” Roderick shrugged nonchalantly.
“You don’t need to know.” Her eyes narrowed as she processed his cryptic response.
“I thought we were partners,” she said, her tone growing colder.
“But nevermind.
As long as you help me remove Layla from Lucius’s life, I won’t ask any more questions.” Roderick glanced at the watch on his wrist as he straightened up.
“I have an important meeting,” he replied curtly.
“See you later.” Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away, disappearing into the shadows of the corridor, leaving Sylvia to stew in her thoughts.
~~~~ “Madam, do you intend to inform Boss about your encounter with Sylvia?” Aiden asked, his hands steady on the wheel as he drove.
“I must,” Layla replied, her voice thoughtful.
“Roderick holds Lucius responsible for his father’s death.
What if he was the one who sent that mysterious envelope?” Her suspicion was evident.
Aiden shook his head slightly, his eyes flickering to the rearview mirror to meet Layla’s gaze.
“I doubt Roderick would stoop to such measures.
We’ve already reviewed the CCTV footage from that day, but no concrete leads have emerged.
Did he mention anything specific during your conversation?” Layla sighed, her expression clouded with both frustration and sadness.
“He said some deeply troubling things about Lucius.
It’s all such a tangled mess.
I’m beginning to understand why Lucius keeps his distance from his family-Roderick is the reason.
He’s convinced that Lucius is guilty.” Her voice softened, laced with a sense of sorrow.
“It’s heartbreaking, really.
There’s so much pain and misunderstanding between them.
I’m more concerned about Lucius, who was neglected in all this.” Aiden couldn’t help but notice how deeply Layla understood Lucius-far more than any other woman ever could.
It was a level of insight that left him astonished.
Knowing she trusted Lucius implicitly, despite the whispers and accusations, gave him a sense of comfort.
She saw through the lies others so readily believed.
As they pulled into the company’s parking lot, Aiden parked smoothly.
Together, they walked through the bustling lobby toward the elevators.
Just as they reached them, they spotted Orabela lingering nearby.
“There are interviews happening today for the lower section in the sales department,” Aiden informed Layla.
Layla’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“She shouldn’t be allowed to work here anymore,” she said.
“Inform the team to remove her name from the system immediately.” Aiden nodded, already preparing to act on her instructions.
Layla had briefly considered following her father’s advice to give Orabela another chance, but now she knew better.
Orabela had squandered any goodwill, and there was no room for second chances.
As the elevator doors slid open, Layla stepped inside, her expression composed but unyielding.
She waited silently for the doors to close, watching Aiden stride away to execute her order.
Layla smiled warmly at the employees who greeted her on her way to her office.
As she stepped inside, she stopped short, stunned to see Lucius already there, leaning casually against her desk.
A surprised but delighted smile tugged at her lips.
Before she could say a word, Lucius crossed the distance in a few quick strides and kissed her, his hand gently cradling the back of her head.
“Someone might walk in,” Layla murmured, her voice soft as she gently pushed him away, her cheeks flushing red.
“I’ve already instructed Aiden not to let anyone in,” Lucius whispered.
He pulled her back into his embrace, his lips capturing hers once more.
Layla’s hands instinctively clutched at his blazer as he guided them further into the room.
Her back met the cool surface of the wall, and they paused briefly, breathing heavily.
Lucius’s gaze locked onto hers.
“You left me alone in the house,” he murmured, his lips trailing down to her neck.
He pressed soft, lingering kisses along her skin, his hands sliding from her shoulder down to the buttons of her blouse.
“I-I just wanted you to rest,” Layla whispered, her voice trembling as her heart raced.
Her eyelids fluttered, caught in the intoxicating spell of his touch.
“Lucius, are we really–” Her words ceased in her mouth as he pressed his index finger on her mouth to shut her up.
He kissed her collarbone and his hand was now tracing her curve covered with the blouse before sliding his hand through the gap.
“Angh…” Layla moaned when his tongue traced the contours of her lips while his fingers moved between the valley of her breasts.
She moved her both hands down to his waist, drawing him close.
Their bodies pressed together.
“Did you have a soft drink earlier?
I can taste it in your mouth,” Lucius murmured, now his lips were on her throat.
“Y-yes,” Layla replied.
She then realized they had to stop and pushed him back this time, resisting his touch.
“Let’s continue this at home,” she asserted.
“Fine.
But don’t stop me there,” Lucius said as he started fixing her clothes.
“I met Roderick and ended up encountering Sylvia,” Layla informed him.
“Hmm.” Seeing such a reaction from Lucius, she got perplexed.
“Aren’t you surprised?” “I have a spy planted behind Sylvia.
He reports everything to me,” Lucius replied as he pulled up her blazer.
“What?
Is that the reason you come here?” she inquired.
“I’m here for almost two hours,” Lucius replied.
“The spy informed me not long ago about you encountering Sylvia,” he added.
“You are angry, right?” Layla asked, placing her hand on his cheek.
“I am not going to let it slide this time,” Lucius said in a dangerously low tone.
