Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 161
Chapter 161: Enjoy your night Chapter 161: Enjoy your night Lucius returned home after a shopping trip, relieved to find the house still empty.
Layla hadn’t arrived yet, giving him just enough time to put his plan into action.
He decided to surprise her with a homemade dinner.
As he entered the kitchen, Roger, ever the attentive assistant, offered to lend a hand.
“Go home and get some rest,” Lucius said firmly, tying an apron around his waist.
Roger hesitated.
“But Madam will be back within an hour.
Are you sure you can handle everything on your own?” Lucius smirked.
“If I need help, I’ll call the maids.
Besides, you’re forgetting I’ve had some experience in the kitchen,” he added, recalling the cooking lessons he had taken years ago.
Roger raised an eyebrow.
“That was ages ago, Boss.
I cook for myself daily-I’ll stick around and help.” Lucius sighed, realizing time was against him.
“Fine, but just this once,” he relented, focusing on the task at hand.
The kitchen buzzed with activity as the two men worked side by side.
The mansion’s cooks, peeking in occasionally, were astonished.
In all their years of service, they had never seen Lucius so much as brew a cup of coffee, let alone chop vegetables or stir sauces.
By the time the clock struck six, the meal was ready.
Lucius placed the final dish, a perfectly baked cheesecake, which he bought from the famous bakery of the city, in the center of the table, while Roger set out bowls and plates.
“Alright, you’ve done your part,” Lucius said, removing the apron and handing it to Roger.
“You should head out now.” Roger grinned, wiping his hands.
“Good luck, Boss.
I’m sure she’ll love it.” He gave a nod and left.
Lucius glanced at his watch as he tidied up, making sure every detail was perfect.
Just as he began to arrange the cutlery, one of the maids entered, her eyes wide with surprise.
“Sir, everything looks wonderful,” she said, gesturing to the table.
“Shall I take these back to the kitchen?” Lucius nodded, appreciating her efficiency.
“Yes, thank you.” He took a deep breath, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation.
Layla would be home any minute, and he wanted everything to be flawless.
As Lucius went to the living room, he saw Layla entering the house.

He got a bit nervous for some reason.
He could feel his hands turning cold and his gaze softened a bit in apology.
Layla slowly halted to see him, but then she didn’t speak.
She averted her gaze and stepped forward to walk to the staircase when Lucius blocked her path.
Before she could understand, he was on his both knees.
“Lucius!
What are you doing?” Layla was speechless for a moment.
“Stand up.
Are you trying to tell the servants in the house that I’m a bad wife?” “Forgive me, Layla.
I am truly sorry.
I-I should not have said that.
Please don’t be angry with me.
You see, I don’t feel good if you get upset.
You were right that as a wife you were worried for me,” Lucius looked up for a brief moment before lowering his gaze.
Layla bent down, wrapping her arms around Lucius.
Her knees touched the floor, and her handbag slipped from her grasp.
“How can you kneel before me like that?” she whispered, her voice soft but firm.
“I’ve already forgiven you.
You don’t have to do this.” Lucius let out a quiet sigh of relief as they both stood.
He picked up her handbag and placed it gently on the nearby table before cupping her cheek with one hand.
His touch was warm, filled with unspoken remorse.
“It was foolish of me,” he admitted, his voice low and sincere.
“I didn’t understand your concerns.” Layla nodded, her eyes glistening with a mix of emotions.
“I only want you safe, Lucius.
That’s all I’ve ever wanted.
I don’t have a problem with the work you do-I even want you to find the real culprit.
But… I’m sorry for pushing you and insisting on coming along.
I realize now how difficult that must have been for you.” Lucius sighed deeply, his thumb brushing against her cheek.
“Oh, Layla,” he murmured, leaning forward until their foreheads touched.
Unbeknownst to them, Roger, Aiden, and a few curious servants were peeking from behind the pillars.
Roger smirked, leaning slightly toward Aiden.
“Looks like they patched things up quicker than expected,” he muttered.
“Then we should head out,” Aiden whispered, casting a glance at the giggling servants.
He narrowed his eyes, silencing them instantly as they scattered like leaves in the wind.
Meanwhile, Lucius gently nuzzled his nose against Layla’s, his warm breath mingling with hers.
“Freshen up,” he whispered softly.
“Then we’ll have dinner together.” Layla smiled, her lips brushing against his cheek in a light kiss.
“I won’t take long.
Let’s not fight like this again, Lucius.
It doesn’t feel right.” “Agreed,” Lucius replied, letting her hands slip from his grasp as she headed upstairs.
For a moment, he stood there, lost in the warmth of her affection, his heart lighter than it had been in days.
“I’ll make tonight special for her,” he murmured to himself.
As he turned, his sharp eyes caught movement behind the pillar.
His contented expression quickly shifted to a frown.
With quiet steps, he approached the hiding figures.
“Let’s go,” Aiden urged Roger under his breath.
“Not yet,” Roger replied in a hushed voice.
“We need to make sure they actually sit down for dinner together.” “What are you two doing here?” Lucius’s cold, authoritative voice cut through the air like a knife.
Both men froze in place, exchanging a guilty glance.
Roger attempted a sheepish smile, while Aiden stood stiff, his usual composure faltering.
As Roger scratched the back of his head, “Boss, we just wanted to make sure everything goes well.” He took a step back and continued, “We are leaving now.” “Roger, I’m going to marry you off once I clear the messes around me.
You better find a woman for yourself or I’ll do,” Lucius said with a grin.
“No, boss.
Don’t do that,” Roger stated.
“Why?
You truly need a wife to keep you busy,” Lucius proclaimed.
“Boss, I’ll take him away.
Enjoy your night with Madam,” Aiden said and dragged away Roger with him.
