Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 162
Chapter 162: Kissing your neck Chapter 162: Kissing your neck Layla’s breath hitched as she entered the dining room, her eyes widening in astonishment.
The main lights had been switched off, leaving the room bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, creating a romantic ambience.
“A candlelit dinner,” Layla murmured as she turned to Lucius.
He stood beside her, a small, knowing smile gracing his lips.
With a gentlemanly flourish, he pulled out a chair for her.
“I wanted to make tonight special,” Lucius said, his voice rich and sincere.
“We’ve never had a moment like this-just the two of us, away from everything.” Layla’s heart fluttered at his words.
She settled into the chair, feeling a warmth spread through her chest.
Lucius gently pushed the chair in before circling the table to take his place across from her.
Layla’s fingers brushed against the delicate petals of the rose beside her plate.
She lifted it, bringing it to her face, and closed her eyes as she inhaled its sweet, heady fragrance.
A soft smile curved her lips, her heart swelling with warmth.
Across the table, Lucius uncorked the wine, the rich ruby liquid flowing gracefully into their glasses.
She watched him with quiet admiration, the candlelight reflecting in his eyes, giving him an almost ethereal glow, especially because of the outfit he was in– a white satin shirt and loose white trousers.
As he set the bottle down, Layla picked up her glass, her gaze never leaving his.
She took a slow sip, savoring the taste before placing the glass gently on the table.
“I love this,” she murmured.
Carefully, she placed the rose into the vase at the center of the table.
Lucius leaned back slightly, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
“Then let’s make it even better,” he said warmly.
“Shall we start eating?” Layla nodded, her eyes shining with happiness.
As Layla cut into the steak and took her first bite, she paused, noticing something different.
The flavor was rich but unfamiliar.
She arched an eyebrow and glanced at Lucius.
“Did you change the cooks?” she asked curiously.
“The taste is different.” Lucius leaned back slightly, a hint of pride in his expression.
“No, I haven’t changed the cooks,” he replied, his tone light.
“But tonight, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I prepared the dinner.
Roger assisted me.” Layla’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Really?
You know how to cook?” she quipped, a playful grin spreading across her face.
“Well, a little,” Lucius admitted with a modest shrug.
“I wouldn’t call myself an expert.
It’s been a while since I last stepped into the kitchen.” His voice softened slightly as he leaned forward.
“So, how is it?
Do you like it?” Layla’s smile grew warmer.
“It’s delicious,” she said earnestly, her eyes sparkling with appreciation.
“Thank you for this, Lucius.” Moments like these, small but thoughtful, always filled her heart with joy and gratitude.
Encouraged by her response, Lucius picked up his fork and knife, and the two continued their meal.
By the end of the dinner, they were both pleasantly full, but Layla couldn’t resist the cheesecake Lucius had brought out.
She cut a small slice, savoring each bite before offering him a forkful.
Lucius leaned in, accepting her offer with a chuckle.
They shared the dessert, their laughter mingling with the soft glow of candlelight.
The tension from their earlier argument melted away, replaced by the ease of their companionship.
“Layla, this is for you,” Lucius said softly, placing a small, elegantly wrapped gift bag in front of her.
Layla’s eyes widened in surprise.
She glanced up at him, touched by the effort he had put into making the evening special.
“Lucius, this wasn’t necessary,” she whispered, her voice laced with emotion.
“You’ve already done so much for me.” Lucius rubbed the back of his neck, a hint of bashfulness breaking through his usually composed demeanor.
“Well, it’s too late now,” he said with a small chuckle.
“I’ve already bought it, so you might as well take it.” With a smile tugging at her lips, Layla carefully opened the bag, her eyes lighting up as she pulled out a sleek, elegant watch.
“Lucius, it’s beautiful,” she exclaimed, slipping it onto her wrist.
She held up her arm, admiring how perfectly it complemented her.
“It looks so good on me!” Lucius smiled, a sense of satisfaction evident in his eyes.
“Then wear it every day,” he said, his tone gentle but firm.
“I will,” Layla promised, glancing at him with a soft smile.
“Thank you, Lucius.
And… I’m sorry.
I was foolish earlier.” Lucius reached out, his hand covering hers.
He gave it a reassuring squeeze.
“Don’t apologize.
You have nothing to be sorry for,” he said firmly, his gaze warm and steady.
After a brief pause, his tone grew more serious.
“I’ve decided to take Roger with me.
I won’t go alone.” Layla let out a small breath of relief.
“That’s good.
It’s safer that way,” she said, gently withdrawing her hand.
She began to rise, glancing around.
“I’ll clear these–” “The servants will handle it,” Lucius interrupted, his voice calm but decisive.
He stood, extending his hand to her.
“Come, let’s go to our bedroom.” Layla nodded, her heart fluttering at his words.
“Hmm,” she murmured softly.
She took a step, but before she could go any further, she felt Lucius’s hands slide under her back and legs.
A surprised gasp escaped her lips as he lifted her effortlessly into his arms.
Instinctively, her arms wrapped around his neck, and she rested her head against his chest.
“I could have walked,” Layla whispered.
“I know.
But isn’t this much better?” He began walking and reached the staircase.
“It is,” Layla said and nuzzled her nose on his neck before pressing a soft kiss there.
“Layla, what are you doing to me in the middle of the walk?” “Just kissing your neck,” she replied and looked up at him with a seductive gaze.
“When you were in the office, I heard female employees praising you.” “What did they say?” He asked.
“Something which I don’t wish to tell you,” Layla replied with a smile.
