Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 177
Chapter 177: Making me feel indebted Chapter 177: Making me feel indebted Lucius kept his hands tucked inside his pocket as he stood near the floor-to-ceiling window.
“Lucius, we could have meet in a restaurant.
Why did you ask me to come here to see you?” Sylvia asked and she stopped right next to him.
Lucius’s hand shot out and he grabbed Sylvia’s throat tightly, his thumb pressing on it, blocking the path of air through the windpipe as he slammed her against the fibre glass.
“Lu–” Sylvia couldn’t speak, her hands instinctively flew to his wrists, trying to free from his strong grip.
Her face turned red as she struggled to get free.
“How dare you mess up with me and my wife?
Who are you to even bring up my past like that and gather such items just to make Layla go away from me?
You have tested enough of my patience and even if you die today, it won’t make any difference to me,” Lucius said.
Sylvia felt like she would die any second from the strangulation.
She grabbed Lucius’s hand this time, her nails digging into his skin, but it was of no use.
“Boss!” Roger shouted and he quickly ran toward them.
He pulled away Lucius and wrapped his both arms around Lucius, preventing him moving while Sylvia thud to the floor, panting hard for air.
She coughed profusely as tears emerged on the edges of her eyes.
“Leave me,” Lucius growled with menace.
“Boss, calm down,” Roger said firmly.
His eyes flicked between Lucius’s face, twisted with rage, and Sylvia, who was barely holding on.
“You can’t do this,” Roger continued, “she’s not worth it.” “Do you even know what she did?” Lucius barked.
“She’s the one who sent that envelope to Layla while I was away.
And as if that wasn’t enough, she had the audacity to send a threatening message to my father-in-law.” His hands balled into fists, trembling with barely contained rage.
“I don’t care who she is anymore.
All this time, I held back because of Matteo.
But that’s over now.” “Please stop, for Layla,” Roger said softly.
“She wouldn’t approve of this behavior.” Lucius exhaled heavily, the tension slowly ebbing away.
He dropped into the swivel chair, his hands resting on the armrests as he regained his composure.
“Throw her out of my sight,” he commanded coldly.
Sylvia’s tear-streaked face twisted in disbelief.
“Why?” she demanded with a quivering voice.
“Why do you hate me?
What did I do wrong?

In the beginning, I tried to be good, but as the years passed, you changed.” Roger stepped forward.
“Sylvia, I’ll show you the way out.” “You stay out of this,” Sylvia snapped, rising shakily to her feet.
Lucius’s eyes hardened.
“You will start speaking to Roger with respect, or you won’t get a single word from me.
Apologize to him, or get out of my sight,” he said, his voice dangerously low.
“It’s fine, Boss,” Roger interjected, trying to defuse the situation.
“It’s not fine for me,” Lucius snapped, his voice rising.
“I despise her attitude, her arrogance.
She acts like she owns us, like we are her pawns.” His fists clenched as he glared at Sylvia.
“I won’t tolerate it any longer.” “I’m sorry, Roger,” Sylvia apologized, but it wasn’t genuine.
She took slow steps toward Lucius’s desk.
“Tell me…
why do you despise me so much?” “I never despised you.
But now, you’ve made me hate you.
I was never changed.
You became possessive, trying to hold me to the past, making me feel indebted to you and your brother.
Whenever things don’t go your way, you remind me of how Matteo died because I couldn’t protect him.
You used my brother’s death to plant doubt in Layla’s mind about me.
You’ve weaponized my past, used it to torment me for your own gain.” He stood up, his eyes never leaving Sylvia.
“I never dated anyone because people judged me for my past.
I married Layla because she respects me, because she knows me-she knows the pain I carry every single day.
So don’t ask me why I chose her over you.” His words cut through the tension in the room.
“For me, you’re no one-just a rebellious girl who loves to hurt others.” Lucius’s hand moved to the drawer, pulling out his phone and car keys.
He didn’t look back as he addressed Roger.
“I’m leaving.” Without another word, he walked out, leaving Sylvia standing in stunned silence.
Roger remained quiet as he felt if he would speak anything, Sylvia would lash out at him.
To his surprise, she walked out of the office on her own.
“I hope now Sylvia understands,” Roger murmured.
In the parking lot, Lucius settled into the driver’s seat.
He was about to start the engine when his phone buzzed.
Glancing at the screen, he saw Layla’s name.
Instantly, his expression softened, his anger diminishing slowly.
“Yes, Wife?” he answered.
“I’m waiting for you at a restaurant.
I’ve sent you the address.
See me there,” Layla said softly.
Before he could respond, she ended the call.
Lucius lowered the phone and quickly checked the message.
Tapping on the live location she had shared, he started the engine and drove off.
Reaching the restaurant’s terrace, he found Layla seated on a table on the left end, busy in her phone.
He approached her and finally stopped by the table.
Pulling out the chair, he settled on it.
“I didn’t make you wait too long, did I?” Lucius asked.
The waiter came and poured water in their glasses.
“I arrived five minutes ago,” Layla replied.
“So, why here?” Lucius asked.
“Because it’s serene here.
We can see the lake from here and not a crowded place,” Layla answered.
“What would you like to eat?” “Anything you want,” Lucius replied.
“What about Lasgana and Pene with bolognese sauce?” Layla opined.
“That’s better,” Lucius agreed for that.
The waiter walked away, leaving them alone.
He held Layla’s left hand, which was on the table, caressing it and ran his fingers over her wedding ring.
“When did you sleep last night?” she suddenly asked.
“I remember you slept after me.” “I slept near mid night since I had some work to finish,” Lucius replied.
“By the way, I met Sylvia earlier.
I almost strangled her to death but Roger intervened,” he confided with her and lowered his gaze.
“I told her why she couldn’t be the one by my side.
I hope she doesn’t trouble me anymore,” he muttered.
“Because if she does such a thing again, I may not keep her alive.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Light_ray A character voting event is going on.
