Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 189
Chapter 189: Boss’s mother won’t come Chapter 189: Boss’s mother won’t come “Was it Boss’s mother?” Roger asked as if confirming a suspicion.
“Yes,” Layla admitted, her tone laced with frustration.
“I just wanted to see if she would actually come this time,” she added.
Roger sighed, the weight of past memories settling on his shoulders.
“Boss’s mother won’t come.
She never does.
Not when it matters most.
There were other times too, moments when Boss was at his worst, and she still stayed away,” he said as he recalled the painful history of Lucius’s past.
“I thought maybe she’d changed,” Layla murmured.
“She came to see who Lucius had married, pretending she cared about his safety.
I really believed her words…
but it seems I was wrong.” She let out a weary sigh, brushing her fingers through her hair.
“Anyway, don’t tell Lucius about this when he wakes up.
He doesn’t need to know.” “You have my word.
I won’t say a thing,” Roger assured her firmly.
After a brief pause, he added, “Would you like me to bring you something to eat?
You’ve been here for hours.
Boss likely won’t wake up until morning.” “Thank you, but no,” Layla replied, shaking her head.
“I wouldn’t be able to eat anything right now.
You should grab something for yourself, though.” Roger hesitated but nodded.
“Alright.
Call me if you need anything,” he said before stepping out of the private lounge.
As he exited, his eyes fell on a small group waiting just outside.
Layla’s parents, Darius and Miriam, striding in his direction anxiously.
Alongside them was Orabela.
“How is Lucius?
And where’s Layla?
Is he alright?” Darius asked quickly.
“Boss is still unconscious,” Roger replied, his tone professional but calm.
“The doctor assured us he’s not in any danger.

Madam Layla is inside this room since no one is allowed to be with the Boss.” “We’re going in,” Miriam stated without hesitation, her maternal instincts driving her forward.
Roger gave a small nod and opened the door for them.
“Go ahead,” he said, stepping aside.
As Layla’s parents entered the room, Roger’s hand shot out to stop Orabela from following.
He slid the door shut behind Miriam and turned to face her.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate for you to see Madam right now,” Roger said coldly, his piercing gaze meeting hers.
“Your presence would only complicate things.
I suggest you stay here.” Orabela didn’t utter a word and sat on the chair.
She could feel Roger’s piercing gaze at her as if he was thinking she was the culprit.
However, she remained quiet.
~~~~ Miriam immediately pulled Layla into a warm embrace, her arms wrapping tightly around her daughter as she whispered, “Everything will be fine, Layla.
Just hold on.” She gently patted her back, offering comfort before slowly pulling away.
Her eyes searched Layla’s face with concern.
“Are you alright?” Miriam asked softly, her voice trembling ever so slightly.
“Yes,” Layla replied, “Lucius protected me.” Miriam’s lips pressed into a thin line as she nodded.
“We heard from Roger that Lucius hasn’t regained consciousness yet, but he’s not in any danger,” Darius interjected.
“That’s true,” Layla confirmed with a small nod.
“That’s a relief,” Darius said, his shoulders relaxing slightly.
“He’ll wake up soon; I’m sure of it.” He glanced toward the door.
“I’ll speak to the doctor just to make sure everything is being handled properly.
You two should stay here and talk.” “My father-in-law has already spoken to the doctor,” Layla informed him, her tone calm but firm.
“I have no doubt Mr.
Alekis has done his part,” Darius replied with a faint smile.
“But as Lucius’s father-in-law, I should also have a word with the doctor myself.” With that, he turned and exited the room, leaving Layla and Miriam alone.
“Your clothes are stained with blood,” Miriam said gently, noticing the crimson marks on Layla’s outfit.
“I’ll ask the maid at home to bring you fresh clothes.” Layla hesitated for a moment, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
“Mom, can I hug you?” she asked, her voice quivering with emotion.
“Of course, dear!” Miriam replied warmly, opening her arms wide.
Without another word, Layla stepped forward and hugged her mother tightly, burying her face in Miriam’s shoulder.
“I was so scared,” she murmured, her voice breaking as tears spilled freely down her cheeks.
“I’ve never felt such fear before.” Miriam’s heart ached at her daughter’s vulnerability.
She wrapped her arms around Layla, holding her close and stroking her back gently.
“Let it out, my love,” she whispered, her voice filled with tenderness.
“You’ve been through so much.
Just let it all out.” Layla sobbed quietly in her mother’s embrace, her emotions finally breaking free after being held back for so long.
Miriam sniffled, her own tears slipping down her face as she shared in her daughter’s pain.
“Lucius is safe, by the grace of God,” Miriam said softly, her voice trembling with emotion.
“That’s what matters most.
Don’t cry anymore, sweetheart.
Don’t let fear take root in your heart.” Layla’s sobs began to subside as her mother’s soothing words and gentle touch brought her comfort.
She slowly pulled back, her face streaked with tears.
Miriam reached up, wiping away the dampness from Layla’s cheeks with tender hands.
“Stay strong, okay?” Miriam said, her voice steady but kind.
“Lucius wouldn’t want to see you like this.
He’ll need your strength when he wakes up.” Layla nodded, her grip tightening on her mother’s hands.
“I will,” she whispered.
By now, her voice was more composed.
Miriam smiled softly, squeezing her hands in reassurance.
“That’s my girl.” “Then I’ll let someone at the house know to bring clothes for you,” Miriam said gently, concern evident in her tone.
“I’ll ask Roger instead,” Layla replied.
“We’ll need clothes for Lucius too.” Miriam nodded in understanding, but before she could respond, Layla placed a hand on her arm and said sincerely, “Thank you for coming here, Mom.
It means a lot.” Miriam smiled softly, her eyes filled with warmth.
“Of course, dear.
You’re my daughter.
I’ll always be here for you.” Layla hummed and felt in the tough times her family had come.
She was grateful for it, thanks to Lucius she could see this family love in the tough times.
