Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 195
Chapter 195: Pamper me Chapter 195: Pamper me Layla carried the bag downstairs when Roger left his seat.
“I’ll carry this,” he rushed to Layla, who was in the middle of the stairs.
He grabbed the bag from her, descending the stairs with her.
“When did you come here?
You should have taken more rest at home.
Lucius will be upset if he finds you in the hospital,” Layla opined.
“Boss won’t say anything.
Besides, it’s already two in the noon.
I slept more than five hours at my home earlier and even slept last night,” Roger stated.
“I thought your mother would be here,” he muttered with a surprised look.
“I sent her home,” Layla replied.
“I heard from Aiden that you let Fiona stay behind with Boss.
Layla, I don’t like it to talk about the De Salvo family matters, but she’s been an admirer of Boss.
You should not let another woman near him,” Roger proclaimed.
“I felt no one is better than Fiona to be by Lucius’s side while I’ll be absent.
Moreover, from my husband’s side Fiona is his sister-in-law,” she explained, showing the faith in Lucius.
Roger reached the car and placed the bag carefully in the backseat, shutting the door with a soft thud.
“Boss doesn’t like the way Fiona pesters him,” Roger said, turning to Layla.
“I’m sure she’s been saying something to him.
That’s why I brought it up.
But even I know Boss has only you in his heart.” She smiled back when Sarah came there.
“Madam, here’s the lunchbox,” said Sarah and the two of them looked at her.
“Thank you,” Layla took the bag from Sarah.
“I’ll come home tomorrow.
Hopefully, Lucius be discharged then,” she added.
“Yes.
Don’t worry about the house,” Sarah told her.
Layla hummed and entered the car’s front passanger seat while holding the bag.
Roger, on the other hand, sat on the driver’s seat and drove off to the hospital.
“Did the police find anything?” Layla suddenly asked him.

“The investigation is going on,” he replied.
He hid the truth that Zayne had told him and Aiden last night, thinking it might only add to Layla’s worries.
“Do you think the attack happened because of what Lucius does?” Layla queried.
“I don’t think so.
You were the target, not the Boss,” Roger affirmed.
“I wonder who wants me to die this time,” Layla murmured.
“Don’t take stress over this.
We will catch the culprit soon,” Roger assured her.
“We won’t let anything like this happen in the future.” ~~~~ Aiden got suspicious upon finding that he couldn’t see Seraphina since she had refused to meet.
“Did Seraphina meet someone recently?” Aiden asked.
The junior warden hesitated for a moment before replying, “I have no idea.
I’ve been transferred to a different unit, which makes it harder for me to keep an eye on Seraphina.
Also, my duty hours have shifted to night rather than the day.” Aiden absorbed the information, his suspicion deepening.
“I see,” he murmured, his mind racing with possibilities.
“Can you perhaps check the CCTVs and find out if Seraphina met anyone recently?” The warden nodded.
“I can, but it may take some time.
Reviewing footage isn’t quick work.” “Take your time,” Aiden said.
“Once you find something, inform me through a message.” Without waiting for further discussion, he turned on his heel and exited the central prison.
Getting into his car, he turned on the engine and drove away.
~~~~ “Boss, we are here!” Roger announced cheerfully as he slid the door open.
Layla stepped in with a bright smile, followed by Roger, who looked equally enthusiastic.
Fiona, seated on the couch, stood to greet them.
“Lucius is asleep after taking his medicine,” she informed them.
Roger nodded, his cheerful demeanor dimming slightly as he quietly placed the bag on the table.
Layla, on the other hand, approached Lucius’s bedside to check on him.
Her gaze softened when she noticed his eyelids fluttering slightly, even though his eyes remained closed.
“Thank you for staying with Lucius.
I’m sorry for troubling you, Fiona,” Layla said, turning to her.
Fiona waved off the apology with a kind smile.
“Oh, it’s no trouble.
I’m happy to help you and Lucius.” She grabbed her handbag and added, “I’ll take my leave now.” “Roger, could you please drop my sister-in-law home?” Layla asked.
“It’s fine,” Fiona interjected quickly.
“I’ve already called a driver from home.
You two stay here.” With a polite nod, she walked out of the room.
As soon as the door closed behind her, Lucius’s eyes opened, a sly grin playing on his lips.
He pushed himself up and wrapped his left arm around Layla’s waist, resting his head against her belly.
“I missed you,” he murmured.
Roger stood frozen in shock, his jaw dropping.
“Boss, were you pretending to sleep?” he blurted out.
“Yes,” Lucius admitted with no shame, lifting his head to meet Layla’s gaze.
His eyes sparkled with mischief.
“The doctor said I’ll be discharged this evening,” he added before pulling Layla closer.
“Roger, could you give us some privacy?” he asked, clearly expecting no argument.
“Yes, Boss!” Roger replied, about to step out, but Layla stopped him.
“Roger hasn’t had lunch yet,” she pointed out, pressing her hands against Lucius’s chest to keep some distance.
“He’ll be eating with us.” Lucius frowned playfully but didn’t protest.
Instead, Layla squinted at him suspiciously.
“And your right arm…
Why are you moving it so freely?
You’re supposed to be resting!” Lucius chuckled, his puppy-dog eyes locking onto hers.
“I’m not.
Don’t scold me.
I’ve been getting scolded since yesterday.
Pamper me,” Lucius whined, guiding Layla’s hand to rest over his head.
Layla couldn’t help but smile at his antics.
She gently caressed his hair, her earlier suspicion melting away.
“Aren’t you hungry?” she asked softly.
“I am,” Lucius admitted, his voice carrying a playful tone.
“But I’d like to use the washroom first,” he added, already starting to move.
“Sure,” Layla replied.
Before Lucius could get up on his own, Roger stepped forward.
“I’ll help him.
Layla, just sit in the chair and wait for us,” Roger instructed firmly.
Pressing a button on the wall, he summoned the nurse, who arrived shortly to remove the IV from Lucius’s hand before leaving.
Lucius slung his arm around Roger for support, and the two began walking toward the washroom.
As they moved, Lucius glanced at Roger, a faint hint of irritation in his expression.
“Where did you disappear this morning?” he complained, his voice low enough to avoid alarming Layla.
Roger sighed apologetically.
“Boss, I’m sorry.
I didn’t know Fiona would stay behind with you,” he murmured.
Lucius’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“You should’ve stayed to make sure she didn’t bother me.
You know how I feel about her constant hovering.
I had to pretend sleeping all the time.” Roger gave a small nod.
“I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again, Boss.
Layla’s faith in you is strong, so I didn’t want to interfere.” Lucius scoffed lightly.
“Layla’s faith is one thing, but Fiona’s intentions are another.
Next time, stay.” “Understood,” Roger replied firmly as they reached the washroom.
Meanwhile, Layla placed the flowers from the bouquet she brought into the vase on the bedside table.
She was in a constant worry of who might have wanted to kill her this time.
Would Seraphina dare to harm her again?
