Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 202
Chapter 202: I am the sin Chapter 202: I am the sin “Where are you going?” Alekis asked, gazing at Lucius.
He then glanced at Layla.
“Ask him to stay in the room.
He doesn’t listen to his father ever,” he complained.
“Dad, I’m going for some fresh air.
And my bodyguard is with me,” Lucius said, referring to Roger.
“Father, he has promised me to return before noon,” Layla said.
“Yes, Dad.
I’ll be home as soon as the clock struck 12 in the noon,” Lucius said with assurance.
Alekis felt even his daughter-in-law wasn’t making the effort she should have.
He decided to have a conversation with her later when she would return from the work.
“Father is asking for the safety of you to stay at home,” Fiona intervened, bringing a glass of water for Alekis.
“You can have fresh air even in the house’s estate.
Freshen your memories from the past here,” she asserted.
“I don’t want to freshen up any memories,” Lucius said, the muscle in his jaw twitched slightly.
He shifted his gaze to his father and continued, “I’ll be back as per the promised time.
My arm is fine.
The doctor even checked me in the morning.” Alekis, as usual, bent before his son’s words.
He gestured to him to leave.
Lucius smiled and held Layla’s hand.
The two of them made their way out.
“Don’t visit Seraphina.
Your father needs you here,” Layla suggested to him suddenly.
Lucius saw an unexplainable emotion in her eyes.
“Alright.
I won’t go out then,” he said.
“Roger, follow Layla to the office.
I won’t be going out,” he instructed.
“Sure, Boss,” Roger opened the backseat’s door for Layla.
Lucius kissed on Layla’s lips and waved at her.

She simply smiled at him and entered the car.
After she left his sight, Lucius turned to go inside.
Seeing him entering the living room, Alekis was surprised.
“I’m not going out.
I think I should spend this entire day with my father,” Lucius asserted with a big smile on his face.
Alekis was bewildered to hear that.
“Am I hearing right?” He asked, putting the newspaper away.
“Yes, you are,” Lucius said and settled on the couch across from his father.
“You delayed the meeting related to the next Chairman.
May I know the reason?” he asked.
“Well, I want you to be present in the meeting too.
For now, I want you to take a good rest,” Alekis answered.
“I am sorry,” Lucius apologized suddenly, confusing his father.
“I’ve given you a lot of troubles.” “Do you still blame yourself for Antoine’s sudden passing away?” Alekis asked.
“I-I do,” Lucius admitted.
“If I hadn’t insisted on him to go fishing with him, he would be with us, with you, Fiona and Roderick,” he asserted.
“Life and death aren’t in our hands,” Alekis proclaimed.
He wanted Lucius to get rid of the thought of claiming Antoine’s life.
“I understand, Dad,” Lucius answered.
“But sometimes I feel Antoine’s death was connected to me.
It’s just a thought I am unable to remove from my head.” “No, it’s not–” Alekis couldn’t finish his words when a familiar voice reached their ears.
It was of none other than Evelina’s, Lucius’s mother.
“That’s true.
You are the reason why Antoine died,” Evelina said and halted at her place, just a few meters away from the couch.
Lucius promptly stood up and turned to look at his mother.
Alekis, too, left his seat and frowned to hear his ex-wife’s words.
“Evelina, why are you here?” Alekis asked.
“I thought we were clear last time you would not visit this house or my son ever again,” he reminded her.
“Well, I thought I should come to see my son,” Evelina pronounced.
“Alekis, you should stay quiet now.
I am the one, who should show the mirror to my son,” she affirmed, tightening her hold on the handbag she had.
“Antoine, your dear elder brother died because of you.
While working with Matteo you were already on the target of notorious gangsters.
If you don’t stop that life, you will lose Layla one day.
Because of you, she may die.
Then, you’ll regret your whole life for existing,” Evelina stated.
“Eve!” Alekis shouted at her as he walked to her.
“Stay quiet.
I beg you,” he said.
“Lucius, if you want to live a normal life, then stop whatever you are doing,” Evelina advised him.
“I didn’t come to see you all these years, nor I cared for you because you joined the hands with a crime lord, Matteo Mancini.
That guy ruined you completely.
Because of him, you did all sorts of crimes you should not have,” she asserted.
Fiona came to the living room hearing the noises and was shocked to see Evelina.
That woman feared her the most.
“Why does it seem you are hiding something from me?
You visited Italy so many times in these two months.
That makes me wonder what your real intentions are,” Lucius said, clenching her fists hard.
Evelina gulped, but she didn’t let any weary expression to come over her face.
“I don’t want an innocent woman to suffer because of you,” Evelina stated.
“And since when you started caring for Layla?
I remember how angry you were when I married her without informing anyone,” Lucius remarked.
“Is this why you wanted to see me today?
To tell me how I am the reason for the loss of two precious people around me!
Or should I say you want me to suffer in hell by hearing your harsh remarks?” Alekis felt the situation might go out of control and Lucius might find out the truth he had been hiding from him along with Evelina for such a long time.
“I don’t care what you think about me.
I never once denied the fact that Antoine left this world because of me.
But I also know you enjoyed seeing me in pain.
I have not forgotten a single moment when you have not humiliated me for being born.
My mere existence has bothered you.
That’s why you always have seen me with the gaze I could never comprehend,” Lucius affirmed, “as if I am the sin you have carried on your head.”
